The Copper Cabin
Tail End of Fall
This was our third stay at the copper cabin, first time in the fall season. It was, as always, the perfect getaway. You really feel connected with nature here and time feels like it slows down. We heard wolves and a bobcat during the night time, which was pretty cool from the safety of the cabin! We had a great time, and I am sure we will be back. Thanks Linda and Daryl for all the work you do to make our stay enjoyable!!

The Copper Cabin
What an amazing place to get away for a while! The cabin is a work of art with so many thoughtful touches. It's clear the owners have spent a lot of time thinking through how to functionally live in the space while also making it feel incredibly home-y, much more so than most other rentals I've stayed in. There are plenty of trails, towns, and attractions within a short driving distance, but you may not even want to leave the cabin! Excited to come back in the winter for some cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Copper Cabin. It was a great place to unplug for a few days. Everything at the camp was exactly as described.

Perfect UP getaway!
We loved everything about our stay at the copper cabin! It serves as the perfect base camp for exploring Keweenaw Peninsula, however, we found it hard to leave the cabin. :) We especially enjoyed cooking on the old cook stove, eating our meals and playing yard games outside, sitting around the campfire at night, steaming in the sauna and bathing in the creek. I can't wait to return in the winter!

The Copper Cabin
We stayed two nights with our children ages 17 & 20. It was a great place for relaxing after a busy few days of travel. Cell reception was great (helpful for figuring out where we would go next) and the cabin and sauna are beautiful. It was fun for my husband and I to see a place similar to something we'd like to build someday. Fun to learn more about using solar and the composting toilet. Bring your sense of adventure!

We loved our stay at the Copper Cabin -- it was a welcome retreat away from the world. We especially appreciated the experience of living in a more eco-aware way. It was also the perfect distance between Copper Harbor, Eagle Harbor, and Calumet where explored on day trips. Thanks for creating a haven away from it all that taught us more about conservation!

If you're looking for an off grid experience this is the place. We had all the amenities needed and it was truly secluded. Linda provided a great walkthrough upon arrival so we felt like we knew exactly what the cabin had to offer as well as how to use some of the unique features. There are a lot of options for exploration as well. From the property itself to the entire Keeweenaw peninsula. This was a fun and unique way to explore Michigan's Up North!

Linda is very sweet and helpful with information on how to use things in the cabin. The hike in is easy and the little river is lovely! It feels remote and very romantic alone in the woods. It is a rustic experience so be prepared for that. Expect bugs (you're in the woods!) and to work a bit to pump water, use the bathroom, etc. It's part of the experience!

Beautiful place
We are family with teen age kid stayed in cabin. It's really like camping just sleeping inside the house. Creek is amazing I will recommend take a quick refresh bath in morning. The place is close to many UP attractions. The Copper Harbor is very nice town.

This land is so beautiful in and of itself. There is wildlife all around, great for bird watching. We got to spend some time observing 2 bald eagles right over the cabin. They cabin itself is so adorable and has just what you need but not too much that you don't. It is so unique and cozy.

Awesome retreat! The No road access is definitely a perk for those who are seeking a bit of seclusion. The cabin itself was well thought out and made with passion. It was rustic, yet came with many amenities. The owners were very knowledgeable and nice. Would definitely recommend!

This place is a whole vibe…could be right out of a movie set. Will absolutely book another stay.
Would describe it as not for everyone, but *everything* to certain people. If you’re one of these people, there’s no way you’re gonna have a bad time.
Hosts have phenomenal communication, cabin is cozy, sauna is hot & the river is fun to watch. Being able to find a dog friendly stay where they can be off leash without worry is tough to find in the Keweenaw (and anywhere really). Our two labs were in heaven swimming in the river and posting up by the fire.
If no formal means of bathing is of concern, the Nordic Spa at Mount Bohemia is right up the road for a soak, steam & shower. Interestingly, as a Verizon customers, we had 5 bars of service at the Copper Cabin, could easily “work from home” here.
Very special place Linda & Darryl have built here. Excited to follow along with their newsletter & property progress. It’s a “salt of the earth” type experience. Highly recommend.

I honestly can't say enough good things about this off grid cabin. It was everything we wanted, a great base camp for our Keweenaw adventures, warm cozy beds, cranking wood stove, amazing property. Linda was helpful and ready with all questions and we can't wait to stay here again.

The Copper Cabin is a very special place. I enjoyed a quiet, solo 2-night stay there, squeezing out the last few drops of winter - And it was absolutely wonderful. Linda and Darryl have a beautiful piece of property and have really built something special there. I feel so much gratitude for them opening it up to be shared with myself and others.
I can't wait to go back with friends!

In the depths of Winter...
There's nothing in the wrong place, because every detail is just built so leisurely with the style of the place. The more you sink into it, the more you realize how simple and meticulous all of it is. Before you know it, you may forget it is not your's and not want to leave - but hey, if you stay - for a while, you may join the club of those that have truly lived. It is a wonderful place 👌

Cozy Cabin
Cozy cabin with a beautiful walk. We had the luxury of crust snow and didn't need to wear snowsboes. We also saw a Fisher in the front yard that was digging in the snow.
Would stay again :)

Winter Getaway
Absolutely delightful winter stay. The hike in was just the right length with all our gear. Lots of natural light with all the windows. Sound system was a huge perk. 3 of the 4 beds upstairs are great. Plenty of cookware and spices. We’re looking forward to a summer stay soon!

Winter Adventure
As the listing says, make sure to bring your sense of adventure! Even though we had power issues because of snow before (panels must've been covered with snow and batteries hadn't fully charged) and during our stay (overcast and snowing), we had a great time. Because of the detailed instructions, we were prepared with headlamps and lanterns. We had fun snow shoeing, making an igloo, doing a puzzle, and playing cards. Had to self check in (T-Mobile coverage not great in UP), but 17 yr old son found that if you hold your phone up high near the window in the loft, you can sometimes catch a bar. Where there's a will, there's a way! Note: only the narrowest sleds fit on the bridge. The deep snow made getting on and off the bridge a little hairy, and we carried our dog across just to be safe. Definitely a memorable experience - thanks Linda & Darryl!

The Copper Cabin
Copper Cabin a place to return to.
My first time hiking with a pulk sled to an off grid cabin, but Copper Cabin was the best place I could have gone to. The property was beautiful and the cabin was cozy and welcoming. I now want to return each season to take in the beauty of the location. And to try all the activities the cabin offers biking, kayaking and the fire pit. And I was so busy snow shoeing and playing with my dog in the snow, I didn’t get a chance to try the sauna. So that will be top on my list when I return. And most importantly any time I had a question the hosts were always quick to answer.
