Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented.
Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge.
Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away.

Our property is at the end of a private road and has been in the family for decades. We fondly refer to it as One Grand Place and we are excited to be sharing it with you.
We have 2 parcels of land. Each would be just for you and only you. It's like having your very own private property when you are here.
One parcel has only 1 RV site with a cement pad, parallel to the river. Can accommodate 1 RV up to 30' (NO Class A's allowed). 30/50/standard 110 electric and water hookup. Pump out is available for a fee.
At the far west end of the property is our second parcel with 1 very large grassy RV site along the river with 30 amp and standard 110 electric and water. RV up to 30' (NO Class A's). Pump out is available for a fee.
If you don't have an RV, no problem. Rent our elevated popup RV.
There is plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like?
Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and surrounded by natural wetlands. So, we are a perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy fresh air and picture perfect sunsets.
Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few things to be enjoyed on the water. There's a public boat launch just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou Park has a kayak specific boat launch. Or, you can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore.
Hiking, biking and wildlife/bird/eagle watching are also options. Lake Michigan beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away.
Holland is about 30 minutes south. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 25 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker, Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is 40 minutes North in Muskegon. Grand Rapids is 40 minutes to the East. There are also many wineries, distilleries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan as well as "you pick" blueberries and many festivals in the summer. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

We have about 35 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Large trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm.
There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't last as long as usual. If it's chilly, we do have a portable heater available.
We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

Half way between Chicago and Detroit is a city named Kalamazoo. Our place is near the intersection of US 131 and I-94, so whichever direction you are traveling is accessible. Whether you are heading to the beauty of "up north" or running between the big cities east and west, this is a great spot to rest and enjoy some down time. Lake Michigan is a 40 minute drive west from here and if you are a bicyclist, you can ride the Kal-Haven Trail from the trail head about 2 miles from here, all the way to the Big Lake and back (35.5 miles one way).
We have trails in the woods and open fields to look over, depending on your preference. As of this year, there is no electricity and water hookup, so tents or trailers with electric and water are your option.
We have a bell tent available for a single or a couple to stay. On that same site is room for a trailer or tents, if you want to invite your friends, and we've built a cooking shelter and a bath house that has a compost toilet and a shower with on demand hot water from solar energy.
We have a horse farm on the property and offer horse experiences (All our activities are done on the ground near or with the horses, so, no riding is offered) at an additional fee. It is expected that you will remain outside the fence from the horses while you are staying, unless you sign a release and are accompanied by the owner to interact with them. We do not allow dogs.
There are two campsites cleared in the woods, for tent camping, and more will be cleared in 2025, as time allows. There will be a bathhouse with a compost toilet and on-demand hot water nearby those campsites. If you want to stay before our build, we will offer a lower rate, but expect you to take away your own waste when you leave or clarify with us where whether there is an appropriate place on the property to dispose of it.
At some point during the fall of 2025, we are placing a restored vintage 1957 Ideal camper in a separate area of the property. It will have solar power and an indoor compost toilet, with a stove and sink. It will host a single or a couple who can sleep on a full sized mattress. Another sleeping area may be offered from converting the table, but we are not sure how comfortable it will be until we've completed the renovation.

Those of you who have visited in the past will notice that we significantly downsized this year. Due to Township and State regulations, we are now limited to offering only four campsites unless we get licensed, which at this time is cost prohibitive. So, we have selected the four most highly rated sites and upgraded them, to truly make your experience here special.
About half of the 20 acres is wooded, with walking trails around the property, to include our fish stocked pond and a little tributary of the Black River.
All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table.
We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water.
A free refreshment bar is available 24/7. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack and a hot or cold drink.
You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (for a fee).
We are a working farm and registered as two Non-Profits. One an animal rescue, primarily working with cats. At any given day we have 20-30 cats roaming around the farm. All are under the care of our vet, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and treated for fleas and ticks. All important because they will want to interact with you. Some will want to sleep with you.
Our 100 plus flock of poultry, comprised of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys, free range during the day, so leave the Prada's at home.
If you are staying at Sam's Place, your closest neighbors will Penelope and Petunia, our two female sister pigs. The prevailing winds are down from your site, but you may hear them squabble. Our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats will love your attention and treats we can provide. Arriving in March is Jack, a miniature donkey...we are very excited!
Please try to check-in by 8pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

Weekend Trip to Kalamazoo Haven
Sandra and Mark’s place is beautiful. It feels private and serene and exactly what we needed. The hot outdoor shower was amazing and the bell tent was appointed well, the bed was comfy. Sandra thought of all the little details that made our stay smooth and easy. Bonus, beautiful horses to visit! I would highly recommend their place and we will definitely be back.

Dreamland is the exact right name for this place! It is so beautiful!! We rented the yurts which our teenagers loved, they are in the woods shaded and have electric for fans, super comfortable and plenty of room to stand up and move around. Lots of room for Frisbee and corn hole (which Paige provided for us) in the yard. A string of lights keeps the camp lit and adds a beautiful touch. There is a fire pit and wood rack with chopped wood. The garden is absolutely gorgeous to walk through or sit in the hammock and look at. We all fell in love with Henry (their golden retriever) and the chickens were fun to watch hunting around for bugs. Private bathroom with a toilet and shower added some comforts to camping. The breakfast room is so cute with fresh coffee every morning, and an extra treat of danishes/donuts was a wonderful surprise. Logan and Paige were so kind and welcoming ❤️ I cannot say enough about our stay.. it was perfect

Weekend Trip to Dreamland Of MI
Paige's Dreamland Glamping site is a standout! The spacious tent is comfortably and prettily furnished. The guest wing is beautifully decorated and very well maintained. The garden and meadow was wonderful to view and experience. Location is also prime, with amazing beach access (Paige has a special recommendation), good restaurants, parks and downtown Montague/Whitehall all within ~10 minutes. We already plan to come back again :)

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
We had an amazing stay at Lil Cabin! Ed was an incredible host—friendly, welcoming, and quick to help with anything we needed. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had everything we could have asked for. It was very accommodating both inside and outside, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. You can tell a lot of care has gone into the property. This was by far our favorite stay yet, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

The cabin was perfect for our family. Quiet and secluded yet not too far from Grand Rapids, MI. The pickleball and basketball court was a favorite area. Would stay again!

Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms
We loved everything about it! Buttercup the goat, the treehouse, bonfire with grill, peace and quiet, on and on. We slept right on the second story of the treehouse!! Be careful climbing down if you have to use the bathroom. Could be an issue for some but we absolutely loved it. Definitely would recommend.

We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. The hosts were extremely attentive and always available if we needed anything. The RV was clean and well-maintained, and they even helped us with our bonfire, which made our stay even more enjoyable. They are genuinely kind and caring people. We would definitely come back and highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a great experience!
One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Monty, their dog, who was such a good boy and made our experience even more special!

We had a wonderful stay! Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The property was peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Our host was friendly, welcoming, and great with communication throughout our stay. We especially appreciated the flexibility with check-in and how easy everything was.
We stayed with our dogs, Lucy and Lily, and had a fantastic time. We felt right at home and truly enjoyed our time here. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful property to explore with littles. Julie provides a great welcome basket for the fire pit.
Farm tour is a must to meet and feed all the animals. Close to Lake Michigan / South Haven is fun to explore / good hiking nearby.
Would have been a great location for star gazing but we had cloudy skies, the few stars that broke through were bright!
Would recommend and we hope to go back with friends.

Weekend Trip to Tucked - Away Cabin
We had a great time here - Cathy was very welcoming and took time to give us a tour of the cabin, making sure we knew everything we needed to be comfortable. The cabin itself was very comfortable, and the location was isolated and peaceful but still not too far from town when we needed something. Sitting by the fire pit at night was lovely. We hope to make it back again!

Two of us stayed in the Lil Cabin. The cabin feels very private. I barely saw Ed or the other people staying on the property and I didn't see them at all from the actual cabin. The beds are more comfortable than you would expect for folding beds. He provided plenty of water. The port a potty was the nicest I've ever been in. It's still a port a potty but it was clean and had good toilet paper. The shower is freezing cold of course but it gets the job done.
I would stay here again if I was in the area. It's a good homebase for other adventures and a good spot for a chill weekend of solitude
