I am creating a homestead based on simple but holistic living. The cabin was built built by myself with the help of family and friends. There are a number of trails to walk on the 35 private acreage of rolling hills. This heavily wooded land hosts much wildlife and beautiful scenery. There is a sport court which provides opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, pickleball, or badminton. The property is a work in progress with lots of plans for the future; including a food forest, natural pool, recreation building (being built summer 2022), and more.. 35 private acres of forest on rolling hill terrain. Lots of wildlife nestled very close to the flat river; 30-40 minutes away from Grand Rapids. The Fred Meijer trail provides great biking or hiking opportunities. Lazy float tubing or kayaking down the flat river is very popular and only a short walk away. Horse back riding, golf courses, and an amazing local bakery all within a couple miles. And a fun sport court (basketball hoop, volleyball/badminton/pickelball net all right on site!

Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented.
Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge.
Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away.
Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. (live bait in Saranac)
Woods site and Open Area have a few different locations you can choose from.

We have about 40 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Large trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm.
There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't last as long as usual. If it's chilly, we do have a portable heater available.
We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

Welcome to our little slice of heaven along the Grand River in Grand Haven, MI. Voted one of the best places to visit in '22 and '23. Our property is at the end of a private road and has been in the family for decades. We fondly refer to it as One Grand Place and we are excited to be sharing it with you.
We have 2 parcels of land. Each would be just for you and only you. It's like having your very own private property when you are here.
One parcel has only 1 RV site with a cement pad, parallel to the river. Can accommodate 1 RV up to 30' (NO Class A's allowed). 30/50/standard 110 electric and water hookup. Pump out is available for a fee.
At the far west end of the property is our second parcel with 1 very large grassy RV site along the river with 30 amp and standard 110 electric and water. RV up to 30' (NO Class A's). Pump out is available for a fee.
If you don't have an RV, no problem. Rent our elevated popup RV.
There is plenty of room to set up games, fish, play with the kids or the dogs, etc. What's not to like?
Property is adjacent to Connor Bayou County Park and surrounded by natural wetlands. So, we are a perfect place to unwind, chill, enjoy fresh air and picture perfect sunsets.
Boating, swimming, jet skis, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing are just a few things to be enjoyed on the water. There's a public boat launch just a couple minute ride and Connor Bayou Park has a kayak specific boat launch. Or, you can also drop a kayak in at the very west end of our property right from shore.
Hiking, biking and wildlife/bird/eagle watching are also options. Lake Michigan beaches, various state/county parks, downtown Grand Haven's shops and restaurants are just a short drive away.
Holland is about 30 minutes south. PJ Hoffmaster State Park is 25 minutes North. If you are a thrill seeker, Michigan's Adventure Amusement and Waterpark is 40 minutes North in Muskegon. Grand Rapids is 40 minutes to the East. There are also many wineries, distilleries, ciders and craft beer in Southwest Michigan as well as "you pick" blueberries and many festivals in the summer. Bottom line....there is plenty of things to do and see during your visit. You can be as active or as chill as you want to be.

Lake access ( Muskegon River, Rogers Pond) is available via adjoining property, there is a dock at adjoining property to tie up to, if you want to put in boat at public access 1 mile away. ATV access to water if you have one.
Bagged trash is removed by me, extra bags in can bottom. Please don’t leave in can. Pull it out when stay is complete

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! It’s beautifully built and everything was well stocked and maintained. Cathy was very hospitable and the pie was incredible. We loved cooking dinners over the fire and walking all the trails. We saw chipmunks, a baby deer, lots of birds, and a fox. Definitely recommend this place!

Our stay at Red Horse in the Airstream was very enjoyable and extremely relaxing. We loved visiting the horses and learning about the purpose of Red Horse from Fred. Red Horse is in an excellent location to explore the beautiful area of Fennville, Saugatuck, and more!

I loved how quiet and private the cabin felt, and the view of the forest from the large window. Great setup for hanging out outside with the fire ring, chairs and porch. Overall, a lovely place to stay for a weekend!

We really loved this place! The host was super friendly and so kind. Our dog soon became best friends with his old dog Luke. Just hung around and made himself at home. It was great! The cabin “M” had just enough room to be cozy yet functional. We will definitely be back!

The cabin was clean and cozy, a great getaway to unplug and relax. First night was all to ourselves and it was truly peaceful and perfect for us and the dogs. You have a decent amount of privacy with the trees filled in you can’t really see the campers or other cabin. We met coco Ed’s off leash dog, she is so sweet and made her rounds to come say hi, play with our dogs, and hang out on the porch. Ed has some essential things but you should bring your own utensils and kitchenware to be safe, if not you are not far from town and can pick stuff up that you’ll need, convenient location. He has supplies like slippers, gloves for the wood burner, lantern, fairy lights, strainer, can opener, pocket knives, propane single burner for FLUIDS ONLY, dog bowl, potable water, bug spray(you’ll need it), 2 plates, a bowl, extra blankets and 2 pillows, as well as wood for the wood burner. He will come around and replenish the water in a cooler dispenser down by the bathrooms, you must pack up your trash, plenty of wood for a Bon fire, and if you can brave it the outdoor seasonal cold shower is rejuvenating. Your dogs are allowed off leash and there are multiple little trails on the property that will lead you back to the property. Outhouse was clean and stocked, even had a night light inside. Ed was great host, our last day it was down pouring and he was considerate to let us take our time getting packed up. We loved this lil getaway and we definitely will remember this place and come back.

Weekend Trip to Provision Family Farms
We absolutely adored our stay in the treehouse and were thrilled to watch the farm animals munching away in all the different pastures! Plus, being JRR Tolkien fans, it was a real treat to see the hobbit hole under construction! And with the lake right there, we had a blast getting our paddle boards in the water!

Ed was very welcoming, thoughtful and communicative. He greeted us upon arrival and gave a quick run down of the cabin/land. He even had a fire already started in the cabin as it was a bit chilly.
The grand cabin was so cute and cozy. The bed was comfy and the portapotty was clean. There was no one else there when we were there so it was really private. A lovely place to unplug and unwind in nature.
There is plenty of clean water and firewood. There were also a few spices, tea, hot chocolate and instant coffee. There is a pan and grate for outdoor cooking but I suggest bringing a pot, utensils and cooking tools!

Everything was perfect! From the friendliness of the family, tp the sounds of the farm and nature around us.... one of the best places I have stayed outside of the Forest!
The family did a excellent job giving a tour of the place and making us feel welcome. I got a tour and layout of the tree house and they wanted to make sure we had everything we needed for the night including water, dishes and a propane stove.
Frogs were active all night which made it easy to sleep to. My grands were not wanting to venture to the top of the fort so we made due bit had a blast! Already looking to get back out for a longer trip once weather warms up more.

Everything was perfect! I stayed at the grand cabin with my grandkids. ED and Coco gave us a tour of the property and told us how and why the cabin was built which was very heart felt.
There was a nice pond, playground, trails and the out house was clean and decorated.
I loved the fire pit, loft space and the photos and art in the cabin.
I am hoping to get out again soon!

Everything about my trip was perfect. First off thank you to Ed who is an amazing person. He goes above and beyond to make sure you're set up and his hospitality was top notch. The Grand Cabin was a beautiful place to relax and recharge for a few chilly nights. The woodburnng stove really added to the charm and kept the cabin beyond cozy on 20 degree nights. The grounds were beautifully kept and secluded. The porta potty was meticulously clean and well stocked. There was plenty of firewood and kindling to keep the stove and campfire going. The cabin also had a lot of amenities and way beyond the basic offering. If you're looking for a place to unplug and recharge for a few nights I highly recommend you book a few night here.

We really enjoyed a much needed getaway to natureThe Grand cabin was perfect for our needs, affordable, and only an hour from home.
