2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie & Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and Lake Michigan, 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo and just under an hour from Grand Rapids.
Those of you who have visited in the past will notice that we significantly downsized this year. Due to Township and State regulations, we are now limited to offering only four campsites unless we get licensed, which at this time is cost prohibitive. So, we have selected the four most highly rated sites and upgraded them, to truly make your experience here special.
About half of the 20 acres is wooded, with walking trails around the property, to include our fish stocked pond and a little tributary of the Black River.
All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table.
We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water.
A free refreshment bar is available 24/7. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack and a hot or cold drink.
You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (for a fee).
We are a working farm and registered as two Non-Profits. One an animal rescue, primarily working with cats. At any given day we have 20-30 cats roaming around the farm. All are under the care of our vet, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and treated for fleas and ticks. All important because they will want to interact with you. Some will want to sleep with you.
Our 100 plus flock of poultry, comprised of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys, free range during the day, so leave the Prada's at home.
If you are staying at Sam's Place, your closest neighbors will Penelope and Petunia, our two female sister pigs. The prevailing winds are down from your site, but you may hear them squabble. Our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats will love your attention and treats we can provide. Arriving in March is Jack, a miniature donkey...we are very excited!
Please try to check-in by 8pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

Heavily wooded forest with pine, maple, oak and birch. Undeveloped and quiet. The property is home to numerous bird species, deer, wild turkeys and squirrels. Occasional howls from distant coyotes and infrequent raccoons.
The campsites are located on a hill dominated by tall pines overlooking the east facing property. Secluded, but only a 700 feet from the main residence. Only 1 1/2 miles P.J Hoffmaster's State Park and a 10 minutes ride to Grand Haven State Park/Lake Michigan.
Campsites are rustic but we provide camp toilets, a picnic table and a waste container. Fresh water is available at the barn. We also provide a shelter with picnic tables and a charcoal park grille. A large community fire pit is available with wood provided for a small cost by the hosts.
When arriving please drive to the end of the driveway towards the last house. The Flipside Acres sign will be on your right side. Drive down the gravel entrance and park where indicated by the red barn.
All sites are a short walk from the parking area (500ft) and carts are provided for your use. If needed, we can also provide transportation using our UTV. Tent sites are not accessible by car.

The property was originally owned by a family name Nichols (thus the name of the lake). It was handed down to the sons who each owned half the property. The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our totally private fresh water lake. Take your boat out for a day of fishing or just chill next to the fire. Sites are approximately 50 feet from each other. The Sacred Sound Center is a peaceful, forest retreat nestled in the heart of rural Southwest Michigan, offering a unique blend of nature, stillness, and subtle magic. Surrounded by tall oaks and winding trails, this land holds intentional spaces like a yurt, a treehouse, fire circles, and unique camping spaces all designed to invite reflection, creativity, and rest. This is a dark sky viewing location. While the center is home to sacred ceremonies and healing work, it also welcomes travelers, nature lovers, and campers of all kinds—whether you’re here to unplug, stargaze, write, or simply breathe. You don’t have to be on a spiritual journey to enjoy the peace this land provides, just a willingness to respect it.

My family and I have lived here for 25 years.
I grow hay and have a small orchard.
At one point we were USDA certified organic and probably still meet the criteria.
We like the country life and room for the animals to wander.

Group trip
Despite the rain, the campsite was surprisingly comfortable, and kayaking around the area made it a really fun place to explore. The peaceful atmosphere and scenery definitely made the trip worthwhile!

We enjoyed the power to pick our own spot :) After driving all the way from Florida we were ready to get out and get to work. I had so much fun going through the woods with my dog and gathering wood while my husband built our fire 🔥 Dede made us feel like we were visiting a friend.

Group trip
We had a great time at this site! We were a large group of majority first time campers and were still able to have a great experience. The owners were very helpful with directions to the cabins, and we had an awesome time exploring the grounds and meeting the horses in the morning. Would highly recommend!

15 ft campervan
We really enjoyed our visit with Dedes land. A little weekend getaway in nature was exactly what we needed. The surprise of a gathering, which held space for drumming, dancing, and good community was the cherry on top! The trail through the property provided a fun adventure, especially so if youre a whimsical kind of being!
We look forward to returning, and really cant wait to check out the tree house for a couple of nights!

Bob & Vicki’s place is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. They were also so friendly and had so many amenities that are so convenient for campers, like pot holders to a coffee machine. There were deer and wild turkeys in addition to their two turkeys and chicken which made the stay so much fun. The site was comfortable and it was convenient to have a bathroom at each site. We felt tucked away, it was a little bit of walk from the parking area to the site, but we would absolutely stay there again. The walking trail around the property was well maintained and really pretty with fun drinking stations throughout. The community fire pit was large and we had a nice roaring fire one night too. Overall, we’re looking forward to staying there again the next time we’re in the area.

Weekend Trip to Dreamland Of MI
I loved glamping at Paige's property!! Her little homestead and woods are absolutely magical, while still being close to the charming towns of Montague and Whitehall. Beautiful gardens and chickens made the experience extra special!!
Everything was perfect for our stay - the tent was set up and very cozy as soon as we arrived. The guest area bathroom and sitting area is very comfortable and clean. Paige was very responsive and her instructions for getting to the property were very clear. It was pretty chilly when we stayed, and she offered us a space heater and extra blankets which was great. We were very warm all night!!
Paige (and family) was an excellent host!! I'd 100% recommend to stay here if you're looking for a camping experience without needing tons of gear.

We stayed at Sam's Place Bell Tent for one night of our spring "moms weekend" with 4 moms and 4 babies/toddlers in early May and had a great time!
Julie's farm was easy to find. We were able to just call her using the contact info in our reservation once we arrived and she came right out to meet and gave us an orientation of the space. Julie is so sweet and friendly and really went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and set for our stay.
Julie had cots with cushions as well as an air mattress (added to our booking in advance) set up in the bell tent before we arrived. There was a buddy heater with propane tank ready for us (VERY appreciated as the temps were in the 30s overnight) and a welcome bucket with assorted snacks, smores kit, and even pack of fire coloring tablets for our campfire. A very generous bundle of firewood was on the site, a picnic table, sunbrella, a couple of camp chairs, and twinkle lights around the tent. Her usual refreshments station wasn't quite set up for the season yet so she made a point of bringing us a large thermos of hot water and everything we could need for warm beverages!
A water spigot and porta potty nearby provided for essential needs and we all enjoyed meandering the farm and seeing the friendly animals.
Lovely space, great host, and fun time for kids and adults alike.

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
Ed was very welcoming, thoughtful and communicative. He greeted us upon arrival and gave a quick run down of the cabin/land. He even had a fire already started in the cabin as it was a bit chilly.
The grand cabin was so cute and cozy. The bed was comfy and the portapotty was clean. There was no one else there when we were there so it was really private. A lovely place to unplug and unwind in nature.
There is plenty of clean water and firewood. There were also a few spices, tea, hot chocolate and instant coffee. There is a pan and grate for outdoor cooking but I suggest bringing a pot, utensils and cooking tools!

Our 2nd year at the Grand Cabin was great. Ed is an excellent host, the cabin quaint and cute, and Coco the dog was excellent company. Highly recommended. We will be back again next year!

Everything was perfect! I stayed at the grand cabin with my grandkids. ED and Coco gave us a tour of the property and told us how and why the cabin was built which was very heart felt.
There was a nice pond, playground, trails and the out house was clean and decorated.
I loved the fire pit, loft space and the photos and art in the cabin.
I am hoping to get out again soon!

2 nights at Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
Everything about my trip was perfect. First off thank you to Ed who is an amazing person. He goes above and beyond to make sure you're set up and his hospitality was top notch. The Grand Cabin was a beautiful place to relax and recharge for a few chilly nights. The woodburnng stove really added to the charm and kept the cabin beyond cozy on 20 degree nights. The grounds were beautifully kept and secluded. The porta potty was meticulously clean and well stocked. There was plenty of firewood and kindling to keep the stove and campfire going. The cabin also had a lot of amenities and way beyond the basic offering. If you're looking for a place to unplug and recharge for a few nights I highly recommend you book a few night here.

Had a great overnight stay here with my partner and dog. Ed was extremely helpful and communicative. Upon arrival, he greeted us and gave us a walkthrough of the cabin and property and had plenty of recommendations and firewood available. The Grand Cabin was cozy and stayed warm through a chilly night. We really enjoyed our stay.
Would definitely recommend and will hopefully be back soon for a longer stay.
