Our homeshare farm is open to campers. We have many good tent spots in the yard, in the fields, or in the woods. We also have sites for RV's with power and water connections. It's a bustling working farm growing fruits, berries, veggies and herbs for our local markets. Our fully fenced private homestead is surrounded by woods and well away from the highway 5 miles outside of Port Townsend on the north east Olympic Peninsula. This is a working farm with a lot of moving parts, critters and kids; dogs bark at night, roosters crow in the morning, kids laugh and yell, farm work is BUSY, some days its just plain frantic. Its a lot of fun and beautiful.  But its not anything close to a quiet life.  There will be noise...  and poop... We follow the burn ban guidelines for Jefferson County.

Cardinal's Camp is an ideal spot for small RV's and campers to come and relax in a country setting. We have a gorgeous covered area and deck with propane mini BBQ and bench seating, full water and 30 amp power hook-ups, and beautiful views of the surrounding farm fields and a one hundred year old barn (PLEASE don't access the barn area or fields, it's not ours but the views are great!) Lots to do around the area, including Finnriver Cidery, hiking in the Olympic Mountains and the Victorian town of Port Townsend. We now have decent wifi you can use, so option to come and work remotely! (Unfortunately we don't have tons of space for kids or dogs to run around, but definitely plenty of nice grassy area to set up tents, yard games and a campfire). Our site includes wifi, picnic table, and potable water. Campfires (outside of a burn ban) and pets permitted! However we do have free-roaming chickens (ask us about fresh eggs!) so leashed up or chicken-friendly dogs please. Guests love staying here: "Gorgeous spot to sit, relax and take in the sunset across the farm fields before tucking in. We visited for one night with a 10.5’ tall camper van rented from Cabana, which fit easily under the shelter with plenty of clearance. The shelter itself is a great spot to get outside and eat a meal, and the rocking chairs in the yard were chill too! An occasional loud truck will go by on the nearby road, but not bad. We slept fine. Walk to Finnriver Cidery for dinner (yum)"

At 180 acres Glendale Farm in Chimacum, in operation since 1857, is one of the largest single agricultural properties remaining in Jefferson County. The farm includes prime agricultural soils, over half a mile of East Chimacum Creek, and forested areas. The easement protects a buffer zone for salmon and wildlife habitat along the east fork of Chimacum Creek and protects the agricultural and forestry values of the property forever. Jefferson Land Trust and collaborative partners purchased the easement to Insure Glendale farm maintains agricultural practices and wildlife habitat forever! Please be aware this is a working farm with poultry, livestock, and the use of farm equipment providing a great experience for farm life. Glendale farm experienced a devestating loss in 2022, the primary residence burned down, and since then has been going through an extensive cleanup from an extreme hoarding situation. We recommend using shoes at all times as we are still in the process of combing the grounds for glass and possible sharp objects.

You can expect to see old farm equipment, some derelict Rvs, and material debris which we are raising funds to remove. Please be patient with us as we continue to improve the site with future showers, a comunal kitchen, and improved landscaping. The Glendale Farm is 1/4 mile walk to and from FinnRiver Farms, where you can enjoy cider, beer, live music, delicious snacks each and every weekend! you can check out their seasonal events. if you want organic produce and locally raised meats it's just a bit further ( 200 yards) to the Chimacum corner farmstead: https://www.chimacumcorner.com If you love music on a magical summer afternoon with delightful chamber music its 6.5 miles to Concerts in the Barn. see the schedule here: https://www.concertsinthebarn.... if you like long walks on the beach at sunset head over to Fort Flagler state park.
