This was a wonderful experience. 10/10, laid back, and fun. The alpacas were friendly and curious while giving us space, too, the views of the mountains were beautiful, and the owner responded to messages in a timely manner. Here are the answers to what you’re asking yourself: parking at Site 5 is directly next to the gate of the enclosure, meaning it’s an extremely short walk to your camp site. As for where you setup camp, it’s a large, open field and you choose where you setup. For transporting your gear, there are two, rugged wagons for wheeling your stuff. Next to the enclosure’s gate are a trash can and two, clean portable toilets. The area overall is pretty quiet. Yes, there’s alpaca poop around but the fresh piles are obvious and avoidable, while the non fresh is dried and small enough that even if you step on it you won’t see it on your shoes. Trust me, I’m a clean freak and this site was not challenging for me despite the animals. There was not a noticeable animal smell on the land. While in our tent the animals did not approach us at all. We brought the allowed food to feed the animals, which are baby carrots and thinly sliced apples. The carrots were eaten but the apples were truly loved. The animals safely eat the food from your hands and the ones which aren’t being fed in that moment are not aggressive about getting food. There’s a grill in a fenced in area. Forgot something? There’s a Safeway only a few minutes away. Highly recommended campsite
