Weekend Trip to Ascent Basecamp

We camped at Ascent Basecamp in mid October and enjoyed our stay that we booked again this last weekend in mid November despite the pouring rain each time because of the beautiful riverside setting and shared covered kitchen with the essential wood stove made it that cozy! The drive to experience the fall leaves and a visit to Leavenworth were calling! I actually loved the trains across the highway and the river sounds which drown out any traffic noise from the highway. The camp caretakers were all helpful and the sauna experience was great the second time after the wood was sorted.

We had a wonderful stay, sad we didn't get a longer visit. There is tons of places to explore and we would definitely love to come back. The folks were helpful, kind and welcoming. Definitely has a family friendly welcome. The yurt was warm even though it was pouring all night long. First night we left heat on low, second night we left it off. They have probably one of the most well appointed kitchens we have ever seen, big and roomy. There are games and books and seating. Big family style table for games and dining. Like home away from home with loads of hiking trails near by. We brought our dogs and they had a blast. Next time we come to visit I wont be in class all day. We cannot say enough about how beautiful it is in camp and the surrounding area. 100% recommend!

We loved our stay at the Rookery! The site is quiet and peaceful, despite having neighbors nearby. We didn't see or hear anything from the adjacent properties, and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere by ourselves. The river and surrounding hills are BEAUTIFUL! Full hookups make it a breeze to stay here, as did the easy in-easy out with our 23 ft. trailer.

Cedar Hottub available 7am - 10pm M-F and 8am - 10pm over the weekends.

It's a very quiet getaway, but close enough to the city. The professional and friendly staff make it feel at home. The community house is stocked full of pots and pans and other baking utensils to virtually make anything you may be craving to make. It was stormy and rainy outside a lot of the time, but that just made the cozy cabin even better with the wood stove, string lights, candles, and blankets. We stayed for 2 nights to explore the surrounding area in Carnation, Fall City, and Snoqualmie and this site was perfect. Only 1 RV spot so you don't have any other campers around. Adorable goats, sheep, and pig next to the RV site so we were able to watch them while eating breakfast. Amazing sunrises and beautiful view of the mountains and morning fog. Quiet and serene. Host was incredibly gracious and offered us a farm tour. It was a bit of a tight squeeze to get on the driveway from off the road, but other than that, it was great.

Instructions for arrival were great. We got to campsite after sunset, in the middle of rain, after hiking Colchuck Lake. Finding site was easy, and description is accurate. Was a little concerned about possibility of traffic noise, but Mark was spot on, you won’t hear a thing! Waking up the next morning to the sound of the river was awesome. Facilities were clean, and sauna looked very inviting. We will definitely be back, this site is surrounded by places we want to explore.

Loved the site, will say be on the lookout though on wild animals as we had an overnight visit from some coyotes so keep that in mind for small animals if off leash. Only con is mainly a 1 way road once in property so when we arrived there was another vehicle trying to leave so caused some issues. Overall beautiful and clean worth the trip over!
