Dreamy Private River Site

Such a dreamy, private spot right on the river! The site was peaceful and very well kept, the host was lovely, and the location is hard to beat being so close to North Bend while still feeling tucked away.
A few things to know when planning your stay: the campsite is about a 50-foot walk from the car and is entirely sand, which was a little challenging with all of our gear. There are also lots of trees, so there aren’t many large open spaces for bigger tents. We were able to squeeze our 9-person CORE tent between the trees, but it was a tight fit.
The host also let us know that a bear had recently been spotted at the site, so definitely come prepared to follow proper bear-safety and food-storage practices. Overall, a beautiful little riverside getaway!

This space has abundant privacy and peacefulness. The area both where you park your camper and especially within the sandy area within the trees and along the most relaxing river is wonderful. River Runs Through It comes to mind. This is such a calm and beautiful place, we highly recommend staying here. Plenty of room for larger travel trailers that have the ability to back around a corner into the space provided.
John & Amy's spot is beautifully tucked away gem on the river. The campsite was welcoming, clean and freshly raked upon arrival. The canopy of trees and light breeze off the river allows for about a 10° difference on hot days around the firepitted area. Saw eagles, deer, coyote and a single bunny every morning who lives in the clearing by the bathroom. My 10yr old and I had fun walking the riverside small trails everyday around the campsite and playing in the river. Quiet, relaxing & wished we would've stayed a third night vs. only two. Despite camping while under a fire ban, we made the best of it with fairy lights and glow necklaces. DEFINITELY would recommend to anyone in need of a chill/quiet place to retreat. Perfect setting for a meeting with family we haven’t seen in years. They were heading east over the pass and we live out west so we met on the banks of the river. In 90 degree weather, this spot offered cool breezes and a shady retreat with picnic table included. Our pup was in her element splashing in the river. Path from RV parking area to riverbank was accessible for a manual wheelchair user with freewheel attachment in front so all guests could visit! Thanks to John and Amy for allowing us to enjoy this private and peaceful spot as we scrambled to rendezvous with our southern cousins. Very quiet and quaint neighborhood. We will definitely return to this site for future travels in this area.

Lovely spot by the river. Nice soft ground for tents and great fire pit. Super easy to find. Porta potty was clean and stocked. Plenty of room to park. Close to town and trails, site was private, hosts were kind. I would love to come back and highly recommend this campsite!!

Super cute, private campsite with everything you need. I am a solo camper or camp with my son. I felt very safe and secluded.
The site is at the back of the hosts property, fully distanced with a line of trees, then an open field and then another sprawl of forested area. You can choose to tent in the field or setup near the firepit inside the forested area. The firepit is a short walk down a cute trail into a small clearing big enough for 1 or 2 tents and fully covered on all sides and above by forest. It sits right along the river with clear views of the water. We setup near the firepit as it provided shelter from the rain we knew was coming and warmth. It would also block out sun on hot weekends.
It was a peaceful trip. Sounds of various birds, the water and rain were lovely! There was a picnic table near the firepit and another at the field. We setup a tarp over the table by the firepit and kept dry for cooking, crafts and reading. There were plenty of trees to tie off a tarp on. And several great hammock spots that we didnt get to use due to rain.
The host couple stopped by early upon our arrival and introduced themselves. They were very warm and kind and left us be otherwise.
The porta potty on site is far enough not to notice and close enough to be comfortable wandering to in the dead of night. It was stocked with TP and extra rolls and hand sanitizer.
This is a gem if a location. Perfect for rain or hot summer private caming getaways. We'll be back!

I loved tent camping at John and Amy’s spot. The site is large and well maintained. Instructions and directions were easy to follow and clearly marked. The site is very well shaded. There are trees suited for hanging a hammock. The river is just steps away from the campsite.
Extremely private and relaxing. I would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful time with four adults, one infant, and two dogs! The river was beautiful and there were so many birds. We can’t wait to come again. Our only tip is to bring mosquito repellant.

I loved the peaceful forested setting here. Being right by the river was amazing as well! we unfortunately didnt get to meet the host until the end but they are lovely to talk to as well. We had also seen some elk in the yard and that added to the magic! We will definitely be back!!!

We had a very peaceful outing to this Hipcamp. Even the grassy area is surrounded by trees so it feels very private which is what we were after. Grateful to these hosts for sharing their land!

Awesome spot by the river! You choose where you set up camp, either in the grassy field or under the trees at the sandy campground. Our dog loved running around and playing in the river! Porta potty was clean and great to have close by. Overall, a great spot that made the getaway a breeze. We plan to return soon!

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. This was easily my favorite camp spot in a long time. Easy to find, extremely peaceful, private yet close to town, and our own personal porta potty that was perfectly clean. Tons of space for the kids to run around and the easy access to the river. Shady for some great coverage from the sun and plenty of places to tie a leash and let the dogs relax. We felt safe the entire trip and very welcomed by our hosts, one of whom came by to welcome us to the site which was a wonderful touch. We will definitely be back!
First time camping at John and Amy's land and we loved it! It was private, very clean and spacious. You can tell they put alot of thought and effort in their layout. Amazing place for a big group, this time it was only my husband and I and our fur babies. But, we'll definitely come back with the rest of the crew!
I saw other reviews that said its a gem, and it really is. John and Amy take very good care of the property. Everything is well maintained, private, and beautiful. This isnt some forgotten about piece of land for a side hustle, this is them sharing a camping treasure with us. Please treat it well.
Very close to nearby stores in case you need food or firewood.
The only shame is that its so hard to get a reservation- but only because of how great it is.

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful campsite. The lot sits behind a horse farm. There's a large lawn space for RVs or just kicking around a ball. The camp site is tucked away in the trees with a view of the river. Fits two 4-6 person tents. It's private and felt safe. We will definitely be booking here again!
Loved tent camping here. Secluded, wildlife, and great views. Right on the water, great tree cover, and just overall relaxing place to be. Will be going back.

This is one of the best camp sites I've ever stayed at! It's a beautiful location with a clear view of the river and mountains.
The camp was clean and well cared for, and felt very safe.
The owners were very friendly and personable!
