Rainbow ridge itself is largely comprised of the three houses on property as well as the surrounding woodlands. Its area spans fifty acres of elevated terrain surrounded by a forest creek (where crawdads can be found). The camping area is on about five acres of the property and is populated by alders and evergreens, making it a wonderful place to connect with nature. It's a beautiful area sure to soothe the soul. A short but captivating nature trail is open to campers who are interested in a walk up the gentle hill. We do have a worm composting toilet and water available for washing. A new hot shower will be available. A couple of more sites are in the plans. Nearby is the quaint town of Montesano. Lake Sylvia is there for those looking to discover one of our lovely state parks. Closer by, there is a river with boat launch that runs down and through Montesano for people who want to swim, fish, float, or boat. Montesano's central location in Grays Harbor allows it to serve as a wonderful base of operations for those looking to explore more of the coast, and northwestern peninsula. The way up to Rainbow Ridge is a short winding driveway of somewhat steep grade, delivery trucks have no problems, so if you have a small camper or less, you should be fine.

Merriman Creek is nestled under a canopy of old growth Maple Trees next to our Nightly Rental, The River's Edge, on the South Shore of Lake Quinault. At the request of our nightly rental customers, we have added secluded dry camping sites for our guests and for those wanting to enjoy the Lake Quinault area. Due to USFS Campground closures and high demand, we are happy to provide a place for campers to spend a night or two as they enjoy Lake Quinault. The Hipcamp location is approx 100 yards away from our Rental House and it is secluded and provided. Preferably this is a walk-in tent site Hipcamp, but if the weather is dry, you may drive in with your car or camper van. Please be mindful of other campers as this is an open field nestled under old growth Maple Trees. Quiet Hours and respectful camping etiquette should be followed. We have a communal fire pit in the middle of the 3 acre parcel, 7 sites in total and a clean and new Porta-Potty toilet. There is no water on site so please bring your own water. You may also bring your own portable propane fire pit should you wish not to use the communal fire pit. We hope this description helps! Site 1 is best suited for a camper van. Everyone must pass by this site to get to the other sites. SIte 1 is also closest to the Porta Potty. Site 5 and 6 are in the very back of the property and might be best if you are camping with another family. Site 7 is closest to the fire pit. One tent per space please. You are welcome to message the Host for any questions, we are very accommodating and can also help you plan your trip and advise on things to do. We also have a brand new cabin 1/2 mile up the Valley from our Merriman Creek Hipcamp that also can be rented through the Hipcamp Platform.

Lake Cushman Camping Lot is a perfect place to park your RV. (Note: This is a back in spot and you must have experience backing up your RV). The lot has full hookups , internet and is very quiet. This lot is within the Lake Cushman golf course area, within driving distance to The Olympic National Park, Puget Sound, and various lakes and rivers. This place is amazing, anytime of year! Always perfectly clean when we arrive, well maintained gravel, easy to open and close entry gates, large garbage dumpster area for disposal upon leaving. The view from site 5 is our favorite! Everything out this HipCamp is outstanding. This trip, we were the only ones here! Our 2 dogs were in Heaven! The stretch of private beach all to themselves! And we even had December blue skies! Pouring, sideways rain and hail too, but hey, that makes a 🌈, right? Thank you, Shelby, for your wonderful management of this property, and to the owners who continue to make it available to people like us! We have dibs if you ever decide to sell! lol 😉

The host was very responsive to any inquiries made. The setting was very pleasant and private. The environment is conducive to birdwatching. The hookups that were available were well maintained. Be sure and follow the arrival directions by the host to ensure that you do not miss the street to get access to the Hipcamp. We very much enjoyed our time there.
