Texas Safari Camp

Welcome to Texas Safari Camp
Come escape to a heavily wooded 31 acre pristine wildlife habitat. Only one hour east of Dallas but it feels like another world.  At the end of a one lane rock road- this is a very secluded property. It is perfect for tent camping groups and individuals, has a very positive vibe and is more peaceful than most state parks. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 900 exotic animals.  Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals.
Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts (with as many as 40 people) for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and creating new friendships and memories. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire.   
You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires.   
There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area.  The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond. 
The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House overlooks the front pond and features a queen bed, a smaller bed in the loft, electricity, lights, a fan, screened operable windows and outdoor table and chairs on the elevated deck. There is no heat or air conditioning in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house.
There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink and faucet.

This is as good as it gets. People swimming, camping, playing, paddling and laughing. 

This isn't a get drunk and rowdy place. It's got a great vibe and attracts good people.

The PARK at Brushy Creek

We're situated just outside Trenton on 55 acres of gently sloping terrain featuring a wide creek and expansive grounds beyond the Big Oak, perfect for exploration.

Enjoy stunning sunsets, a clear view of the night sky, the tranquil sounds of the creek, and occasional visits from deer, all contributing to a peaceful retreat.

Our property is evolving as we create manicured groves and open pastures for both our farm animals and guests. During rainy spells, expect some mud and occasional sightings of heavy equipment or tractors.

Our livestock rotate between our two properties, so they may not always be here at The PARK at Brushy Creek. If you don't see them here, you're welcome to visit our other property across the road with the big green gate.

Currently, there is no electricity or Wi-Fi on the property. Lighting is provided by solar power or batteries. Tent sites have access to a water spigot, and there's a Port-o-let nearby.

This is rural country living; our neighbors' livestock and dogs may make sounds like bleating, barking, oinking, mooing, neighing, squealing, whinnying, braying, or whining at any time of day or night.

We are conveniently located one hour north of Dallas Fort Worth, just 30 minutes from McKinney, Sherman, or Greenville, and within 10 miles of Leonard, Whitewright, and Bonham. Trenton is only five miles away.

Several lakes are nearby including Lake Bonham, Lake Texoma, and the new Bois' d Arc Lake.

From Caddo Indians, pioneers, homesteaders, this land has seen it all.  Now it is a ranch with an event venue, horses, farm animals, trails, fishing ponds and camping.  A true "Country Club" where you can escape your world and the stresses of technology in the style you wish.  We have two on site RV's, and event venue, with 3 private bathrooms with showers, a club bar, catering kitchen and so much more!  Perfect for the family that has a "glamper" and those who want to "rough it".  Big enough to handle family reunions, weddings and parties yet .. big enough to give you the privacy you seek!  Contact us for special events.  Close by are the towns of Mt pleasant, Daingerfield and Pittsburg.  All have downtown areas with boutiques, antique and second hand shops to visit.  There are several museums in the area including the Mid America Flight Museum - a private museum of 60 vintage airplanes in flyable condition.  In pittsburg there is the Ezekial aircraft and local history museum.  also within 20 miles are major likes for water sports and sport fishing beyond our own famous "Catfish pond".

Each year our does give birth to singles and twins.  They are wild so you may or may not realize they are there.  We have several wildlife observation locations near feeders.

Sleep Under the Pecan Trees

Explore the 100 acre property that has 15 designated camp sights.... The closest two are about 100 yards apart.  All the sights are near trees. Some Giant evergreens but most are near one of the 200 year old Pecan trees.  Creeks meander through the woods and all meet on the South side of the property. 9 Horses, 20 donkeys and the friendliest mule ever! They Dot the property. Also deer, recoon, squirrel  and an occasional armadillo may visit.  A Great stocked pond and 3 other ponds make for beautiful fishing and photos etc.

A Little Piece of Paradise

A little piece of paradise, a rustic country place near the sky to breathe fresh air, hear the birds sing, fish if you like fishing, enough space to walk among the trees and enjoy nature, if you are lucky you will see the deer or wild pigs . 

The property has a house, a cabin and in the middle of the two there is a pool next to a small lake (if Reserve it 3 nights the pool be came exclusive), a barbecue gas grill and tables for a small pool party

The property is outside of the city limits but is close to the city, 15 minutes from walmart. If you have specific questions fill free to text. Wifi upon request.

We have deer during the season, wild hogs, a temporary river, creek, several ponds to fish, area to to ride ATVs, many trees, plus we are working in developing for more activities in the future

Beautiful property, excellent host.  If you are looking for nature and peace this is an amazing place.  Randall was an amazing host and i would recommend to anyone.  Lots of differnt locations to set up as well.  

I had a great time at this campsite. The owners were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure everything was comfortable. The property itself is spacious with plenty of room to explore and stretch your legs. Perfect spot if you're looking for a quiet place to unwind.

The place is truly secluded and perfect for a weekend getaway! The host was super kind and gracious, the property was beautiful and well maintained! It'd be perfect for a youth retreat or camping with your kids. I'll definitely be back. 

Great times

We were the only campers for our stay. We enjoyed a romantic weekend, and got to explore the creek and say hi to the goats and pigs. Would absolutely come back for the yurt experience here!

Randall was very accommodating and had great communication! I stayed in the treehouse with my 2 kids and we all loved it and slept well. Its a very peaceful area and we were able to enjoy waking up next to the pond, catching a few fish and getting on the water with kayaks and paddleboards that were available to use. Definitely made some memories!

We had a great time camping here. The spot we had was surrounded with trees and pretty secluded, it provided us privacy. In the morning, I love watching sunrise in front of the pond. By nightfall, you can hear the sound of nature- birds and more. It was a very relaxing weekend. Randall was a pleasant host. 

Long hikes are not possible, but there are pathways to walk around. Great option for primitive campers. Water is available but you need to walk from point A to B. Overall experience, great!

Very beautiful place!!! The host is very nice and extremely accommodating!

It’s an ideal woodsy campsite with a picnic bench, clean outhouse as advertised, flat spots for tents and a pond. The frogs were not too loud at night by the pond - just the right amount of nature sounds. We took the row boat out and used the life jackets from the chest by the pond (beware of aggressive wasps in the chest! They keep wasp spray in the porta potty.) 

It was about a 1/3 mile walk (or bike ride) to the wedding venue to use the nice showers and kitchen. The VERY big and loud but VERY smart and friendly (don’t be scared) family dog guided us along the trail to and from the venue.  Highlight for us!

Lynda and Ruston were so welcoming and accommodating. We saw that is was supposed to rain by 5am and Ruston offered to move us closer to venue. (But we slept in our van so we could stay at the campsite.) And we got so lucky that we happened to be there for Easter Sunday and we were invited to the family breakfast and egg hunt.  Perfect for our 4 year old and so thoughtful. Then we got to meet all the farm animals. Just a magical time!

Treehouse!

Very relaxing and at night can hear wildlife.  The owners are very attentive with quick response. Had a great time. 

Thank you Rand for being such a super host! It was fun hanging out with good friends by our campfire. Beautiful scenery. I loved kayaking. Next time, I’m bringing my fishing pole. 

Rands property is a beautiful tranquil treasure just outside of busy Dallas. If you dislike how close you are to other campers in state parks and are looking for an alternative, this is the place to go.   An additional bonus is Rand has a couple of kayaks and paddle boards you can use on the pond. This place is a treat and I highly recommend. 

Beautiful tranquil oasis

A group of us camped there for one night and we had the best of time. Rand is a gracious host providing clear instructions and directions. His property is beautiful and tranquil where you can hike and do water activities in the pond. We were there the day after Pink Full Moon and the sky was clear that was perfect for Star and moon gazing. We had two ladies who bought a new tent for this outing and they said they enjoyed every minute of it and look forward for another outing at the property. 

This is a beautiful, peaceful property and the host is amazing. I met many other Nature lovers here

It was a beautiful location with options for camping spots, including more or less seclusion depending on what you prefer. The provided paddle boards were also super nice! Randall was a great host — Meeting his dog, Teddy Bear, was an added bonus.

We were luckily the only ones camping this weekend so they allowed us to camp wherever.☺️ we ended up by the catfish pond and absolutely enjoyed it! Our dogs were having so much fun swimming & we paddled out on the water. Hiking the property was pretty fun too! Their dogs did show up to say hi & even followed us around some of the property :) luckily our dogs are friendly. We loved it :)

Land Of OZ

Land Of OZ is a place of peace and beauty. If you love the sun shine through the trees and beautiful pond surrounded by nature this is the place for you to come. Active chicken coop and garden. This is where we are now but I would love to have your input while here on how to make it a great place for all to enjoy.

Land of Oz! Sidewalk around one pond with bate fishing and a nice dock to sit and enjoy the surrounding beauty of towering trees. A bit of heaven.  There are several camp sites and room for 5 RV parking  hook up water and electric only. Peace and quite with the beautiful trees and ponds

Chickens, roosters, and ducks roam the farm. 

This was our favorite swing. It had bells that sound like a windchime, and it's next to a garden bed that will probably be really pretty during growing season!

You can pitch your tent anywhere you like, but this was our favorite spot. By the pond, surrounded by a creek, tucked into the trees. Felt very secluded, but was still pretty close to the amenities. 

My son enjoyed hunting for dandelions that had gone to seed.

This property was farmed by the Tawakoni Indians hundreds of years ago.We purchased this land as a place to retire,since we have always been entrepreneurs we decided to grow watermelons and this next year we are venturing to do also vegetables. We also donate many many pounds to homeless and orphanages.
