The camping site was located perfectly in a grove of pecan trees, perfect for shade. The fields were recently mowed and fun to roam in. The lake is a short hike away, but was challenging to fish with the wind and mud. There is a train track about 150yds from the camping area, and we had loud trains passing by in the wee hours of the night; I would recommend being prepared for noise and ground shaking, earplugs would have helped some. Pretty good bbq shack back on the highway (Jeff’s BBQ), the brisket/ribs/potato salad were surprisingly tasty. Nearby Chevron offered ice, snacks, bathroom, drinks (no beer) and taqueria, Host Donna is nice, honest, helpful and great to speak with.

Bad experience with Donna I's Land

WARNING: We booked our campsite with "Donna I.'s Land" whose account has 6 reviews at 100% rating. We are now questioning the validity of those reviews. Upon booking a $50/night camp site, we received a text confirmation (signed "Donna" inviting us to communicate with her), but no campsite address. We texted back, requesting an address, with a follow up text 30 minutes later. Nothing. At 9p we still hadn't heard back from Donna as we tried to find a place to camp. At 10:45p we headed back home and pulled into a trucker's rest stop at midnight to sleep. When we tried to file a complaint to Hipcamp we got a "issue with this page" type of error. We've given Donna and Hipcamp almost 24 hours to notice the mistake before writing this review. Still no response. Hope this review helps others avoid the same situation.

Donna is An amazing host. It's a beautiful secluded property, lake access and beautiful night skies. I will be joining her again in the future!!!

Lake Lavon Field Campsite
We had such an amazing stay out on Donna's beautiful land! The whole property was perfectly maintained, and we were blown away by all the variety offered. We had our choice of campsite, which was nice. There is also a perfect shaded RV hookup site which is perfect for hot Texas summer days. Donna has provided so much for guests to do. There is a driving range for golf aficionados and we were welcomed on the giant wrap around porch, which had a ping pong table that also converted to a pool table, as well as other games. The view was spectacular and we loved watching the stellar sunset. Donna was an amazing hostess and we loved getting to talk to her and meet her sweet dog and friendly chickens. This is the perfect location for a relaxing camping getaway!

Donna is the best! We loved the spot so much we extended our stay and stayed 2 more nights. Our pups also had a marvelous time and we loved our wilderness walks. We will absolutely be staying here again. Thanks Donna!!
