Weekend Trip to Great Escapes Bryan/College Station

This is without a doubt one epic and chill place! Love the cabin and the atmosphere! People are super friendly, accommodations are clean, cool, and very comfortable. This is our new go to for staying when visiting!

Weekend Trip to Cabins directly on the Lake

Where to even start! Gene was the most absolute wonderful host and made us feel so welcome from the very start. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed to kickstart the weekend. There were so many amenities, but we heavily enjoyed the kayaks and they were so much fun. I would definitely recommend booking this place for a weekend getaway as the view was simply amazing. Gene even wowed us with his card tricks and honestly, that was literally the cherry on top. I can go on and on about how great this location was and how great Gene was, but you should definitely find out for yourself and book. You will not regret it!! It was secluded and the quietness was top tier. The cabin was phenomenal and had enough space for 4 girls with a lot of bags (lol) and the hot water was ahhhmazing. Thank you Gene for hosting us and honestly being so welcoming and kind, especially with the birthday party. It was truly a pleasure and we will be back !!

Very cool campsite and tent. Took kids and they enjoyed it. Great condition and clean. Lots of room on the inside and very comfortable. Chairs and fire pit provided outside the tent. Highly recommend.

After weather conditions ruined our area Ms. Dana accommodated us to a cabin! We had a great time! Such a great space for the kiddos and fur babies to run around. Even got to meet Miss Chica 🐈‍⬛ Would definitely recommend!

We stayed here with our boys over spring break. The cabin was cozy, very clean, had everything we needed. It was just the right size for the 4 of us. The lake is breathtaking and very quiet! The sunrises there are beautiful. They have activities for the whole family! Mr Gene was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Our family had a great time here. The cabin is clean and we'll stocked with linens and such for the cooler nights. We had no issues cooking any meals or figuring out the sleep situation. The view of the lake from the window and porch is beautiful, especially the sunrise. Kayaking the lake is fun and a smooth ride. Plenty of fish hopping from the reeds near the shore to the stumps out in the middle. Even if the water sports aren't your favorite, there is plenty to do with the covered pavilion. Last but not least, Gene and his family are the best. They're kind and wonderful to be around but will give you your space to enjoy nature. Could not recommend more.

This was an amazing experience! We loved getting away from the city and enjoyed the quiet downtime. The cabin was so well kept and clean. I liked that the main room was on the other end of the cabin so it felt more private. Sunsets and sunrises were beautiful with the large windows from all rooms. We cooked in the cabin and all necessary dishes and utensils were available. It was cold so we didn’t get in the water but we are looking forward to returning during warmer weather to do so.

The cabin was very secluded, peaceful, and easily slept 6 people. There was plenty to do while we were there: ping pong, basketball, kayaking(our favorite), etc. We had plenty to do, even on the day it poured. The TV allows you to sign in to any streaming service so we watched some bowl games as well. The view from the bedrooms and living room was SPECTACULAR! The owner was lovely and offered us an extra night when he realized how much rain we were getting. He was very helpful. My family and I can’t wait to go back.

This was the perfect place to get away from the well mannered frivolity at RenFest but still feel like we were enjoying the great outdoors disconnected from the digital world. The camp was clean and quiet. We never found the showers but only stayed a night. The Zen Den was just what we needed after a fun day of eating, drinking and being a tad too merry!

Weekend Trip to Cabins directly on the Lake

My friends and I (3 couples, 7 kids total) rented all three cabins for a weekend getaway. We found it quiet and peaceful; with exquisite lake views. There are lots of activities or gathering spots for kids and adults. We had riotous indoor games, went kayaking on the lake, played kids vs parents pickleball and the little ones had a lot of joyful squeals finding roly-polys in the sandbox. Everyone went at his/her preferred speed making it the most adaptable spot we've ever been. Besides having the place to ourselves, the host, Gene amplified our enjoyment by being friendly, responsive, and exceedingly generous. You can tell he and his wife created the spot for their family. We highly recommend this spot and will certainly come back ourselves.

This spot was very secluded and private! We loved being able to park in a shady spot. The facilities were not far from our site and the bath house was one of the better outdoor showers we have used. We also loved the friendly cat!

Fully furnished glamping canvas bell tents, with premier tents on platforms with electric (and Kuerig coffee pots and coffee!). Sleep 2 - 10 comfortably, depending on the size tent. Tents range in size from 10 - 20 feet. Glamping vintage trailers are available too, and are also fully furnished with electric. The fully renovated vintage trailers sleep 2-3 people each. Or bring your own small to mid-size RV, tent, or car/truck/van and pick a cool cleared or primitive site of your choice. We also have 5 electric 30 Amp hookup available. The camp is surrounded by farms and ranches, wineries offering music options (one is dog friendly!). Lake Conroe is 20 minutes to the east. Amenities include a cowboy pool, courtyard seating and camp fire pit, hot showers, bathrooms (currently port-a-potties), fiber wifi, and a potable water/filling station. Stewart Cove is perfect for people who are looking to unplug from the outside world and reconnect with their families and nature. The property is perfect for child-friendly adventures or romantic getaways. Enjoy this peaceful lake view surrounded by beautiful pine trees. The Property: - Secluded lake cabins on Houston County Lake. 2-acre property - Panoramic windows of Houston County Lake from the living room - Deck with an incredible view and surrounded by beautiful pine trees - City water and electric Things to do: - We have a Covered Pavilion with a basketball hoop and pickleball court - 60-foot waterside from the large hill into the lake (Weather permitting) - Swimming in the lake - Fishing in the lake - Bird watching (We have eagles, blue herrings, pelicans, etc.) - Several kayaks with adult and child lifejackets free to use - Cement deck near the lake with cafe lights - BBQ pit, bench swing, and picnic tables - Sandbox for kids - The fire pit is great for smores - You can pull your boat right up to the shore Other Things to note: - The owner's primary residence is two lots over and private. The last 5 miles of the drive are on a "Red Dirt Road" and it can be bumpy or even slippery if it's rained recently. I've never heard of any issues in any vehicles but it's a county road. You will leave with red dirt on your vehicle but that's part of the appeal, the secluded getaway :) Once you start down the driveway you'll see the lake through the trees, making the rough 5-mile ride worth it.
