I had a really bad experience in this camping trip to Briers Ranch and it not because Mr. Gary or his Ranch. Mr Gary is a great Host and his ranch is beautiful.
My experience was a nightmare because in the middle of the night a large group of “campers” arrived and after they set up the nightmare began. They weren’t there to camp or connect with nature. They were there to Party. So during the night several more cars arrived (around 20 guys) and that’s when they start playing music in max volumen (rock heavy metal) and all of them around 1:00 am start acting super aggressive screaming and cursing out loud, some of them where like fighting and running erratically in the pasture while screaming with their flashlights. So, my 5 year old woke up at 3:00am with the scary screaming and was crying terrified so thats when i decide to pack my things and drove back to Houston at 4:00am.
So in my opinion i think landlords even if they offer a primitive camping experience they should somehow guaranteed the safety and security of all tenants/campers. Making everybody follow the rules and be respectful to other campers.
I have donde several other primitive camping but the landlord is always there making sure everybody follows the rules.

I had a great time camping at Briers ranch. It was so peaceful and quiet which was perfect for my solo camping overnight stay. My wife dropped my off at the gate and I backpacked in using Gary's directions and they were simple and easy to follow. Besides a few burn piles around I wouldnt be able to tell others have been out there. Everyone has left it clean and I didn't see a single piece of trash. I loved being able to find a spot anywhere and set up camp. I enjoyed it very much and will definitely be back.

The property is absolutely gorgeous and there are many areas to explore and disconnect! The cows on the property are super cute and friendly- to an extent. I do recommend you bring either a truck or an off-road vehicle if you plan on driving on the property. Due to the cows the land is very uneven, thank goodness we left my car at home for this trip lol. Gary was super sweet and helpful throughout the entire trip with the help of Hipcamp. Surprisingly we didn’t run into any mosquitos or snakes the whole time we were there thankfully!!
I absolutely recommend camping on this property, it is definitely a good price for the amount of land you have to yourself!! :)

I really love this place. That is why I have been here seven or eight times. I always feel safe, and love the fact you can pick anywhere you want to camp. My wife and I have our special little spot picked out where we can see the sun rise. It’s just a great place to go and really don’t want to go anywhere else honestly.

This was my husband & my second time staying on the property and it was just as great as the first time!! There were several other campers this time, but there is so much space that we still found a secluded spot that felt like it was just us on the grounds.

We loved that there was so much space for us to choose our campsite! It was so peaceful! Apart from the occasional passing airplane, the only sounds that could be heard was the gentle mooing of the cattle. A much needed break from the normal noise of life and definitely a place we will be back to soon!

I love this place because you get to pick where you want to be! I like being away from city lights and being able to break out the telescope and then sleep only to the sound of nature. If you are a disgusting, rude camper and leave trash behind please don’t come here. This place is untouched! What makes it fun is you are completely on your own! That is attractive to me. Pack well and smart and you will enjoy some time off the grid.

Gary is very responsive and welcoming. There is plenty of space, peace, and quiet. I usually come out from Tomball to sky watch with my telescopes and the night sky is serene. There are no obstructions and there is a big drop in light pollution only one hour away. THANK YOU GARY!

Gary had several nice camping spots to pick from. We went with hammocks (abundance of trees to pick from). There is a lot of land to explore both wooded and pasture. Anderson is a small town nearby that has several stores should you forget something.

This is a nice place when you want to be away from it all. Gary was responsive to my questions. I look forward to staying here again. Walking and exploring the place was fun. If this was a one to five star rating, it would be a four. I would recommend you ask the host when was the last time the trail was maintained. The directions said to follow the trail, but the trail disappeared into some tall grass/weeds. If it was not for a satellite image on maps, I would have been lost. The ground was rough with big holes. A regular small car, would not be able to pass. I do believe there is another way to the camp site, as a small car did come in through another gate.
