Weekend Trip to Willow Creek Camping Company

Beautiful river spot. People around (but pretty private) were very friendly but not intrusive. The bathroom and shower were clean and even had AC. We had a little trouble finding the RV slot, but we enjoyed it.

The camping experience at Silo’s without a doubt, was one of the best through Hipcamp. I loved the spot we got as it had really great sunrise views. All the travel hangover we had from the previous night was gone with that beautiful sunrise. The campground is well equipped with hook ups, clean restrooms and impeccable views. I would camp here again.

Weekend Trip to P² Farm | Scenic River Camping

The private, non commercialized open space makes this spot unique! It was ideal for my grand babies first camp out experience. First time in a river too, so the low flow was perfect to splash around and explore. Better directions and entrance signage would be helpful though.

We stayed here while visiting Texas for our friend’s Air Force graduation—it’s about 45 minutes from the base. The views were amazing and the whole area felt peaceful and private, perfect for anyone who prefers space over crowded campgrounds. Cows roam freely around the property, which was really cool to see—just watch your step for cow patties! 😆 The gravel road to the site is a bit steep and rough, so we were definitely glad to have four-wheel drive. We travel with two dogs, and the owners were super considerate—they kept their own dog in a separate yard during our stay. That made things much easier and more relaxing for us. We didn’t get a chance to try out the swimming hole, but it looked absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a peaceful, RV stay with a Texas hill country vibe!

Weekend Trip to Secluded, great hill country views

What an incredible find! During the hot Texas summer, having a place to swim while camping is a must—and this spot delivered in every way. We’re always on the lookout for peaceful, private getaways that aren’t overcrowded, and this place checked all the boxes. Getting to our RV spot was no issue, and the hookups made everything super convenient. Our 21-foot trailer fit perfectly and was easy to maneuver. Despite there being others on the property, the layout ensured plenty of privacy and a calm, relaxing atmosphere. The real highlight? The swimming hole—it was absolutely perfect! Even our pup, who uses a wheelchair, had a blast swimming and cooling off. It was heartwarming to see him enjoy it so much. One of my favorite parts was watching the baby cows roam and play. I even got the chance to feed them treats—such a special experience! We loved every minute and can’t wait to come back!

There is something for everyone to feel free to bring the whole family. DIRECTIONS: Once you are on Road Runner Circle, go past the house on the left with the Christmas lights on. Please continue down the road and follow the road around the curve to the left. The campsites will be on the left and side behind the rock walls. The campsite number that is booked is the campsite you will stay in. Additional details to note: - We now have an above ground pool to keep cool in during the summer! Covered with a shade sail the water stays nice and chilly. ($10 fee/person) - You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception and wifi are both available by the showers. Feel free to unplug during your stay though. - Seeing other campers on your trip at the campsite is very standard, as the sites are far enough apart to feel like they are yours, but they are not private. - Non potable water is provided on-site. A quiet community, we feel Sargent is an oasis away from the crowds and congestion of other beach-side communities. We love taking a break from our busy lives to listen to the waves roaring down the shore. We think you'll love it, too! Learn more about this land: This is a 8000 sq ft privately owned, ocean-side lot. Located on a barrier island in Sargent, TX, the site offers a neighborhood atmosphere, with a secluded, unobstructed beach view. There is an approximately 30x30 gravel pad and long driveway. The property is beach front, but dune area/beach may not be accessible by foot (depends on tidal flow, rainfall, Gulf storms etc.). Full beach access is about 1/4 mile down the road. This is a subdivision--there is a neighbor on our right side. This is an RV lot only. This property suits smaller to midsize RVs and most wheeled campers (but no ground tents--there is too much ground wildlife for safety, though elevated, vehicle-mounted tents are fine). The property is still in development. We currently have electricity (110v, 30, 50 amp), water, but NO SEWER OR SEPTIC. You must bring your own toilet facilities with you and take the waste away. NOTE: Public Toilet facilities and trash available 1.5 miles away. We do provide a picnic table, but it changes often--we lose them in storms, lol. You'll also have a clothes line and a canopy as wind/storms permit. If you're an introvert, dislike traffic or just like breathing room, you'll love quiet, crowd-free, Sargent beach. It's such a peaceful getaway! ISLAND LIFE NOTE: This is the Texas Gulf Coast--we have mosquitos, and it's the state bird for a reason! Please bring SPRAY. We never guarantee a bug-free experience. Waterfront RV Port on Bolivar Peninsula. Water, sewer, and electric (20-30-50 amp panel) Covered RV spot with a screen porch. Property is fenced and dogs are welcome. The screened has a dining table with chairs, and also stores some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! There is also a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!) Fishing is great here... the canals have been dredged and folks are catching right of the back of their lots. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. These you cast right off a drop to the intracoastal. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions. Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. Canal City is a quiet residential area. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people. We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5. Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away. We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. There are no power lines over the property so I invite you to bring a kite to fly! You may even see one or two of mine in the sky. The theme of Coyote Creek Farm is tranquility. It is camping without someone crowding into your space. It is freedom from the hectic pace of the city. There is a well maintained Compost Toilet on the property as well! Each individual campsite has a portable potty bucket provided. Nearly any spot you are on has an amazingly delightful view. You can see the sun rise over the trees or the sun set behind a gently sloping hill. You will have access to all of the 30 acres. There are paths to walk, a stocked tank to fish in, (bass, catfish and blue gill), and oak and pecan trees to sit under and view the clouds as they drift overhead. The noises you hear will be cattle calling to their little ones, birds singing, and in the evenings, coyotes howling.

Established in 1877 by the Nelius Family, the ranch began as a cotton and cattle farming operation, utilizing horses in the fields until 1948. In the 1950s, Trenckmann Nelius diversified the ranch by introducing chicken and egg production, while still raising cattle and growing maize to feed the chickens. In 1973, Trenckmann and Margie Nelius transformed their vision into reality by founding Coushatte Recreation Ranch, initially offering just 24 campsites. Over the years, the campground has expanded significantly to accommodate 225 sites, complete with full hookups for both 30 and 50 amp service. The campground's name pays homage to the Coushatte Indians, and visitors can explore an Indian Mound on the property, where numerous arrowheads have been discovered. After many years of dedicated management, Trenckmann and Margie passed the torch to their son Howard and his wife Pamela, who operated the ranch until November 2019. The campground is now under the ownership of George Jarkesy, who aims to enhance the experience for guests.
