New laundry facility down the road, dump station @ Thorp Springs RV park (20 dollars), Davids Grocery store and Dollar General, all only .03 miles away. This is not really a vacation destination but more a safe place to stay coming to town to explore all Granbury has to offer or a place to catch your breathe while traveling on the road. Friends have enjoyed escaping here for years. I decided to share the zen. It's a bit rough around the edges but if the new venture succeeds it will only get better each time you visit. Wonderful land/spot. Wonderful host. They had quick and amazing communication. They met us at the gate and showed us to our spot. Super friendly people! The land was nice, secluded, and clean. The listing here says not bathrooms which is technically true but there is a porta potty that they take good care of. So that was a nice surprise. Close to a whattaburger incase you arrive late and are super hungry. (Its the only thing open super late) We got there at midnight and they were okay with that. I was super anxious about getting there so late but they were so kind and understanding. Amazing experience. Id definitely come back if we are going through Texas again.

We loved the hidden nature of our stay. Driving through the hills and down long winding roads was a perfect welcome into the area. Sam and Sarah were very attentive and passionate about their land and the sites. We enjoyed the little red barn and were able to purchase a few dozen fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm. We would happily stay here again!

My new happy place!!! Absolutely everything about it made my week of solitude by the river the most blissful experience I could have hoped for. Going to sleep and waking up each day to a gorgeous view of Bee Mountain was the most peaceful feeling ever. The spacious campsite made me feel like I had the whole place to myself (and for a couple of days, I almost did!) Kayaking on the river was one of the main highlights of the trip thanks to a cute little cave nook I found on my trip up river. My beachfront silent disco dance parties were probably my second favorite part of the trip. Or maybe the evening wind down campfires tie for second….I can’t decide, there were so many amazing moments!!! Tony’s team could not have been more helpful and accommodating (and thanks for the awesome shirt, Melanie!!) I can’t wait to book my next trip for this fall!! This will absolutely be a semi-annual solo retreat spot for as long as they’re around.

We very much enjoyed staying at Prarie ranch 2, the big open field view was beautiful and the hosts were very responsive. The location was great, about 4 minutes from down town Mansfield so you’ve got the quiet of the camp and the access to town all just right there. We absolutely plan to stay again

We had a wonderful stay at Friends in RV Spaces, definitelyexcellent value for money. Even though we were travelling in a campervan without hookups, the site had everything we needed. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the WiFi near the little red building was fast and reliable. After spending time in the big cities of Texas, it was such a refreshing change to relax in a peaceful, green space with dark night skies and true country quiet. Sam greeted us on arrival and was very welcoming. He showed us around the farm and was interesting to chat with. If you’re looking for a safe, quiet, and friendly place to stay near Fort Worth, we’d highly recommend it.

Very spacious spots. Very quiet and gated. Difficult to get ahold of anyone once your reservation is made, however. I finally got Megan at their property management office and she was very nice and helpful, but I never received lot information or a gate code before we arrived. She wasn’t even aware we had booked through HipCamp until I called them.

Hog Wallow Campground

We enjoyed this site. It sits a bit above the lake so has great views and feels quite relaxing. The showers and facilities are nice, and some very good hiking trails on the south end of the park!

Shady Ridge Campground

If you are looking for a great weekend getaway but don't have a lot of time to getaway, this is your place. Cedar Hill is right in the middle of DFW but you are far enough out of the city to get some nature time. The historical farm has activities and programs for kids, and the hiking is not bad. My family loves this park for a quick getaway!

Site 58 backs up to the lake and is a good size and has more privacy than many of the sites at this park.
