Pastures are mowed three times a year and always look beautiful. There is some
terrain that is rough and the land has not been traveled. Bring machetes and a compass (We are not a rescue team). The land is ready to be loved by our visitors.

Come escape to a heavily wooded 31 acre pristine wildlife habitat. Only one hour east of Dallas but it feels like another world. At the end of a one lane rock road- this is a very secluded property. It is perfect for tent camping groups and individuals, has a very positive vibe and is more peaceful than most state parks. It adjoins a 950 acre wildlife park with 1200 exotic animals. Many can be seen from the road or you can pay to drive through and feed the animals.
Your host is Randall Oliver. He has been organizing group campouts for years and enjoys hosting, bringing people together and inspiring a love of nature, camping and paddling. Everyone is welcome and campers are treated like family. He can teach your kids to kayak and build a camp fire.
You can fish for largemouth bass, cat, crappy and bluegill in the two ponds and swim, paddle kayaks and paddle boards, hike the jungle trail and socialize around the campfires.
There are no designated campsites. You can camp anywhere except between the green building and the front pond. No vehicles are allowed back on the property. Off road wagons are provided to help haul your gear. Front pond camping areas are 30-100 yards from parking area. The rear pond is more secluded but farther from the parking and outhouse. There are four fire pits around the front pond and one next to the rear pond.
The tiny handcrafted Hummingbird Tree House is perched on an elevated deck overlooking the front pond. and features a queen bed, a bed in the loft for two small kids, electricity, lights, fan, hummingbird stained glass windows, screened operable windows and a screened, operable porthole window in the kids loft. The deck has lights, tables and chairs and outdoor table and chairs and a thatch covered umbrella. There is no heat or AC in the tree house. You must bring your own sleeping bags, blankets and pillows. No food, smoking or pets allowed in the tree house.
There is a rustic outhouse with a modern composting toilet, sink, faucet, lights, soap, etc. and a nearby cold water outdoor shower (no privacy), sink, counter and faucet. Use of firepit and grill, kayaks and paddleboards, rod & reels, hammocks, swinging chair and tire swing is included. Firewood can be purchased $1 per stick

Main House Layout: First Floor: There are two bedrooms with king-sized beds. One of these rooms also has a sofa bed. There's also a TV room with another sofa bed. Additionally, two folding beds are available on this floor.
Second Floor: There is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a pop-up trundle bed (equivalent to two full-size beds). In the living room, there's another sofa bed.
The house is set up to comfortably accommodate three couples, each with two children. There’s a gas barbecue grill and outdoor dining tables — perfect for a small family celebration or a quiet evening meal. Hi! We arrived at the site on a Sunday and stayed 2 days. Once you get past all the RV sites and get to the primitive camping area the road gets very ruff.. You really do have to go like 5 miles an hour…There are only a couple of sites with tree covering and the rest have no shade other than the picnic tables. It’s a really beautiful area with amazing views.. There is one big tree on the left side near the end which is where we were that provides some nice shade. Just make sure you bring something for ants and gnats otherwise they can ruin your whole trip. Sunsets and Sunrises are gorgeous and at night you can literally see every single star in the sky. We were there on a Sunday and Monday and literally were the only campers there the whole time. If possible we suggest booking during the week as we were told it gets pretty crowded on weekends!

Randall was an absolutely fantastic host! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome, comfortable, and right at home. He was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right.
I attended the campsite for my birthday, and Randall helped make the experience truly special. The campsite was a wonderful setting for celebrating, and his hospitality made the whole weekend even more enjoyable. You could tell he genuinely cared about his guests having a great time.
I highly recommend staying at Randall’s campsite. If you’re looking for a beautiful place to relax, celebrate, and make great memories, Randall is the kind of host you hope to have. Five stars all around!

Our stay at Golden Curls Ranch was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, Angela and her entire staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. Their hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail truly set this place apart.
The accommodations were incredibly quiet, comfortable, and relaxing—the perfect place to unplug and enjoy a peaceful getaway. We also loved how family-friendly the ranch was. Our 11-year-old had an absolute blast and felt included in every part of the experience.
One of the highlights of our trip was the horseback riding right on the ranch. Angela and her staff were extremely knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire experience both safe and incredibly fun. They took the time to make sure everyone was comfortable, and their passion for what they do really shines through.
For everything that was included, the value was outstanding. The price for what we received exceeded our expectations, making this one of the best getaways we’ve had.
We would absolutely recommend Golden Curls Ranch to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly escape with wonderful people and unforgettable experiences. We will definitely be booking another stay in the future and can’t wait to come back!

Texas Safari Camp exceeded every expectation and gave our family the perfect first camping experience. Randall is an incredible host whose customer service is second to none. It's obvious this property is a true passion project for him, and it shows in every detail. He was responsive, accommodating, and genuinely invested in making sure we had an amazing stay.
The location is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, scenic, and hard to believe it's only about 40 minutes from Dallas. We spent our evenings around the campfire making memories, enjoyed the quiet surroundings, and even watched ostriches from the neighboring Zoofari, which was a huge hit with the kids.
Fishing was one of the highlights of our trip. We caught tons of fish, and several kids caught their very first fish, making for unforgettable memories. The free kayaks were a fantastic bonus, and everything was well maintained, with life jackets available in every size for everyone to enjoy the water safely.
The property was spotless, thoughtfully maintained, and surprisingly free of mosquitoes. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with incredible fishing, beautiful scenery, campfires under the stars, free kayaks, and a host who truly cares about his guests, Texas Safari Camp is hard to beat. We left with amazing memories and are already looking forward to coming back. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Kristen and Justin were incredibly wonderful hosts, it was such a pleasure meeting them. We really couldn't have dreamed up a better place to stay. The farmland is beautiful, the restrooms were sparkling clean, we were comfortable in the RV, the cats were friendly and the food was simply magnificent. 10 out of 10, would book again!

Michael was there to greet us before we even stepped out of the truck. He was very helpful, friendly & gave us places around to fish & walk. The spot had a beautiful view directly on the water as stated online. Hook ups were easy to get to & the pad for our camper was pretty much perfectly level. We would definitely camp there again.

Weekend Trip to Bass Cabins at Lake Fork
The accommodations were lovely and the place was nice and clean. Our favorite part was being there on the 4th of July and seeing an up close and beautiful display of fireworks right by the boat dock.

This was a great campground! The sites were very well spread out and had everything you need for the night. The shade of the trees made for great summer tent camping, and the lake felt amazing. The staff were very friendly as well!!

Randal was a great host and the site is beautiful. Perfect weekend getaway and the tree house is a nice cozy escape. The pond was full of curious turtles and we had a great time kayaking and paddle boarding. 10/10, would recommend and visit again.

It’s an amazing place and the views are gorgeous. The family enjoyed staying the night and making a campfire to cook and make snacks like smores. We tried some fishing and relaxed in the deck taking in the sun. We loved it.

The owner greeted us. Judy was extremely hospitable. We enjoyed sitting and getting to know her and the ranch. She left us some feed for the Llama's so they would come over to us. The chargers for our EV were great to plug into for a cool night's sleep. Extremely peaceful for human recharging too.

The camp sites are clean and nice. Plenty of room for my family. The ground is flat and perfect for tints.
My kids played in the pond pretty much the whole time. They have paddle boards, kayaks and plenty of paddles. We brought floats amd had a blast. My dog throughly enjoy himself as well. All-in-all it was a great time.

Our family absolutely loved being at llama ranch! Sadly we had to head out early due to nasty storm conditions that night, however our girls are already planning next trip to visit the llamas. This family highly approves and recommends this peaceful stay where kids can be kids and enjoys some camping buddies!
