A small multi-generational homestead with a beautiful garden, nigerian dwarf dairy goats, donkeys, horses, chickens and a fantastic view - right outside of Dallas. Visit and feed the animals, walk the trails of a forested 7 acres, fish in the half acre pond or hang by the fire pit. It’s just a 20 minute drive to downtown Dallas, And a 10 minute skip across the bridge to the beautiful Rockwall Harbor.This site is behind our guest house and easy to access right off the driveway. Continuing down the path brings you to the goats, barn and run in shed where our donkeys and horses reside. The beauty of your stay here is in what is around the site and free access to visit the animals. We have had campers from a small travel trailer to a large motor coach. This is our only site on the property, so you will not be meeting other guests; however, this is a family compound, so you will see other residents during your stay. We provide an extension cord for power and hose for water. Waste water can be dumped on the way in and out. The parking location does not have any gravel or ground cover, so it is not good in rain - it gets muddy. Driveway parking is available if you don't need hookups. (The shed in the ariel view is no longer there.)

35 ft fifth wheel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Salt Ranch. Other than the difficult arrival, the rest was a pleasant stay and Andrea was a nice hostess. Our 35 foot fifth wheel had trouble getting through the gate. It's best if you come from the north and swing VERY wide, a few feet onto the grass across the street. The driveway on the north corner is a bit wider. The street out front is very active, especially around rush hour, so you may have to be patient in timing the entry and exit. Also, when parking in the spot, it's a very tight turn. I jackknifed the rig into my rear truck window and shattered it. So, go very slowly and keep checking that the jackknife doesn't go too far. We enjoyed seeing the animals, including goats, horses, donkeys and chickens. We especially liked the baby goats (kids) because of their excited leaping and other antics. Thanks, Steve, for the goat milk sample pack. It tasted just like whole cow milk to us and was delicious!

20 ft travel trailer

Excellent place to stay. Host and family very accommodating and the animals really added to the experience. There is a lot of tranquility in the presence of animals.

The owner and the grounds keeper were very nice. However there was no access to the sewer hook up as the trailer shown in the photo block access. I enjoyed speaking with the owner and hanging out with the animals especially the horse. Also difficult entry to property as the road is in disrepair and very narrow with heavy traffic making it hard to slow down to look for address.

Great spot safe and trustworthy

We loved staying at this spot. Seeing the goats, donkeys, and chickens was a highlight of the trip for my kids. The family was very helpful and kind. It is a beautiful property with the rv spot next to a second garage. Easy access to the city. We would love to stay there again if we passed through. I definitely had to double check the camper before leaving to make sure my kiddo didn’t try to smuggle a goat or two home because they were so cute. Thanks so much it was a trip to remember.

Great spot just outside of Dallas! The ranch is super easy to get to from both 80 and 30. Simple entry and parking too! Hosts are very helpful and accommodating!

Green Paradise outside Dallas

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hosts were super kind and came out in a rainstorm to make sure I got settled. I was very comfortable there!
