Very natural outdoor space for the family to get away and enjoy camping, fishing, hiking along the Brazos River. A canoe put in or take out. Plenty of room for campers and tents. There is an outhouse close by the camping area. The flush toilet is a few 100' up from the camping area. Bring all your own supplies and pack out all your trash. The river is about 300' from our property edge. Expect to do lots of walking! VERY BUMPY grass driveway down to the camping area. Go DEAD SLOW! or you will frustrate yourself and possibly damage your vehicle. You are at the river, sloooow down and relax. This property is not suited for big heavy class A motorhomes or 5th Wheels. The soil is too sandy and the vehicle will likely get stuck. Large gravel bar before dropping down to the water level of the river. Do not drive out on the gravel. This is Texas Brazos River Land. You can set up tents and camp by the river, if you prefer. All the gravel part is all public land. Canoeing, Fishing, Kayaking Granbury Dam approx. 20 miles upriver. Hwy 67 approx. 20 miles downriver. We have paddled both of these in a day many times. But it can be long and slow when the water is low and the sun is hot. Be Prepared! The water level can rise from rain or a release from the dam at Granbury. Always be aware that the water can rise. The entire lower camping area has flooded many times. The entire lower level of this property is included in this campsite. You can setup tents and park RV's anywhere that suits you in this lower level. Water and electric are available, picnic tables, fire ring and the outhouse. The gravel is all Public Brazos River. You can camp, hike, fish, etc. all along the river. Canoe and Kayak access- Approx 20 miles below Granbury Dam and 20 miles down to Hwy 67 east of Glen Rose. The cabin is not available at this time.
