Welcome to Barker Gap! Opened in August 2024 we offer 3 beautifully shaded rv/camper spots, 2 pull thru spots and 1 back in. We have NO size or slide out restrictions, our spots were built with your comfort in mind. All spots come standard with 50A/30A/110 electric hookup, city water, Bbq/park grill, stone fire pit and sewage hookup at every campsite. Wi-Fi is also included for all campers. At this time we do not have bathrooms available to tent camping or any primitive style camping.
The BEAR'S DEN cabin is a 1 room 1 bathroom cabin. Built to sleep 4 with a spacious queen bed perfect for falling asleep on, a cozy twin bed for reading/sleeping, and stowed under the twin bed is an adventure cot for that outside nap on the deck. The cabin is equipped with a mini fridge/freezer, a Keurig coffee maker, and a microwave) inverter. In the bathroom we have a metal wrapped 22" deep soaking tub equipped with a rainfall shower head to wash the stress away. No glamping cabin would be complete without a wave activated hand dryer a 43" Wi-Fi connected smart TV and the latest plug ins with USB ports included so you can forget that charging box at home. Coffee, bedding, towels, bar soap, provided. So what are you waiting for? It's time to camp!

The park features a seasonal waterfall, covered picnic areas, playground, amphitheater with seating, community building, scenic views, gift shop and approximately 2 miles of nature trails. Be advised that most tent sites have a tent pad but a few are primitive mountain terrain (rocky). The one RV site is for 16 ft. or less vehicles and smaller teardrop trailers with limited hook-up and no dump station. Restroom and shower facilities are located within the park. Individual campsites DO NOT have onsite toilets. Forest setting while still close to stores in case of forgotten items. Variety of small wildlife in the area. All sites allow campfires UNLESS we are under a county wide burn ban.

There is a public launch with parking just across the road for floating access. Be on the OHT via the Indian Creek spur trail in no time. *Heads up especially if you are in a small car, it’s usually ok to go down the small hill but in wet weather it may become slick. If you’re not sure about making it back up, there is an area to park by the driveway :)

This land has been handed down for generations and has stayed in the family beginning on my mother’s side of the family, Mary Ann Groundhog, the fourth generation great granddaughter of Sequoyah on the “Dick” side of my family tree. My mother was heavily involved with AIM (American Indian movement).
My dad was the last monolingual Cherokee. His name was Mack Vann, he was a man who loved culture and sharing it with visitors and handed down that passion to me. My hip camper site is named after my daddy, I am still a daddy‘s girl. The land originated before Sequoyah. who created the Cherokee syllabary. My fiance and I found this private paradise on a river 🤗 it was perfect!!! 💓
Tent site plenty of room for alot of tents 2 rv/camper hookups. New bathroom installed (shower not completed yet). Perfect for solo, couples, families and friends gathering. All private one booking. Had small fridge and cook burner, and firewood provided and kayaks and a small boat to rent cheap.
Loved the deck with kitchenette and picnic table and the arched fireplace area with swinging benches and chair.
So relaxing!! I stayed up very late and was up very early swinging next to firepit, looking at the stars listening to crickets and water flowing, firepit and the morning birds chirping, water flowing and faint rooster call in distance.
Very nice host came by to check in about an hour after we arrived. Will def be back.
Didn't catch any fish. So relaxing under the stars listening to the river flow. Neighbors up the road with chickens u can see from a distance free range. Def recommend!

Loved camping here. The alpacas scared my mom, but they’re not aggressive - just very assertive. They reminded me of Thing 1 and Thing 2 haha. If you keep your hand up and let them smell you, they will accept you onto their property.
The other animals were very sweet and like other campers, the white donkey greeted and stayed with us until we finished setting up. If I ever pass through this part of the country again, I will definitely stay here.

We loved this campground. Liked how quiet and small it was. The spots were very well maintained and level. Lots of room for camper and sxs. WiFi actually worked. Picnic table would be the only thing that would be great to have. Owners even reminded us about the temperatures dropping below freezing, so we would not forget about our water hose.

Absolutely Wonderful! This was our second "winter months" stay at Yearling Ridge, and it was amazing. We love the location, the privacy, the size of the property and the views and sounds of the river...beautiful even in winter. We did have some cold temperatures and some ice, but we never lost power, which was great!. Daniel is such a wonderful host! We spent 30 plus days here, and Daniel checked in on us every few days making sure we had wood for fires but also making sure we were doing okay and enjoying our stay. Our dog Deacon loved exploring the property freely, and loved seeing Daniel as well :) Daniel has added a shower house , and has also made WiFi available. These are thoughtful additions to enhance every kind of camper's stay! Thank you to Daniel and Laura for opening up this piece of paradise to these two Northwest Ohio folks, hoping to find our own mountain retreat.
Anyone choosing to stay here will not be disappointed

We enjoyed our stop at Heavener Runestone Park. The terrain is hilly and scenic. Our highlight was watching the sun set from the scenic overlook. The amenities are a bit faded, but functional. This was a comfortable place to spend the night on our way south. It was fun to learn about this odd bit of history, too!

Folks, I can't recommend Barker Gap and Brian enough. I just completed a couple day stay in Site 1 (just me and my dog), and the grounds were immaculately kept and very spacious, the scenery was gorgeous and the hospitality shown by the host (Brian) was off the charts. If you're visiting Brian's neck of the woods, stay in one of his cabins or do like I did and set up the ol' glamper in one of their 3 RV sites. I make you this promise... you won't regret it. Can't wait to come back, wife in tow this time.

Great little spot that you won’t have to share with many or any others. You’re right on the Fourche La Fave river. You have a fire pit basically on the river with a nice gazebo adorned with warm string lights. 20/30/50 amp power worked flawlessly and you have water as well. Great spot. The hosts are super nice. 10/10 would camp here again!
