In 2019, my husband and I acquired and renovated some of the original Miramichee stone cabins. We are located on the Southfork River, in Hardy, Arkansas. We have 1 cabin on the river and 3 cabins a short walk from the river, up a wooded hillside, for rent here at Camp Miramichee Falls. There are a few other privately owned cabins in the neighborhood and we live on the property.

Our 3 acres are on the road leading to Buffalo Point river access on the Buffalo National River. The property has history - you can see remnants of the Lynch in-ground waterslide locals enjoyed in the 70s winding down our ridge. The Baker Lodge was built on the slide entrance, with our sleeping cabins overlooking both the trees down the ridge and the slide. The house on property was once a restaurant and was converted to a duplex to host travelers to the Buffalo River years ago. Our acreage adjoins the Buffalo National River Park boundaries and you can explore around the ridge. Buffalo Point is literally at the end of our street. You can hike an amazing trail called Indian Rockhouse - it's interesting and fun every season. Hikes along the Buffalo River Trail are minutes away, and outfitters are within walking distance - they can help you with rafting, kayaking, canoeing and even guided tours and fishing guides.

Rumor has it he built the original house and the barn which was become known to locals as a land mark “The Big Red Barn." Mr. Martin is said to have also built most all the barns in the area, including one such barn which sits on property across the highway, he built while he had a broken leg!! This amazing old barn can be seen from Blessed Valley. Snowball Branch starts less than a mile up stream and runs across the North side of the property..

This was truly the best camping place we’ve ever been to. The views were absolutely stunning, and the campsite itself was perfect for our tent. Robert and Susan went above and beyond to make the experience special. We even got a fun and super interesting coffee lesson (featuring some of the best coffee we’ve ever had), followed by a fresh latte handcrafted by Susan, which was absolutely delicious. Robert even sent my husband back with some of his coffee to share with the guys at the fire station, which meant so much to us. And if that wasn’t enough, they also dropped off homemade sourdough monkey bread, which was nothing short of phenomenal. Robert and Susan are honestly some of the kindest and most thoughtful people we’ve ever met. On top of the amazing views from the campsite, the common area was perfect—especially on the rainy day we had. We were able to relax on the couch with our dogs, stay dry, and still enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Valley of peace was a perfect place to unplug for the weekend! The host was very helpful and kind. He stopped by each day to see if we needed anything. He had plenty of fire wood to purchase. He has a beautiful piece of land and we enjoyed saying hi to the farm dogs! We got to hook up to the WiFi once but don’t depend on it for the whole time it’s a little spotty. I’d definitely download an offline map.

It was a great place to park our Airstream BC! Communication was great and the host was friendly when he came by to check on us in the evening. Restrooms are well-lit and conveniently located in the middle of all the sites as is the covered pavilion. It is a small park and all of the sites are in one loop with sites 1-7 being opposite of the main road, sites 8-11 along the back of the property (backed by the most trees) and 12+ are on the same side as the main road. We stayed in 12 which was good, but next time I’ll choose 8-11 to lessen road noise and provide a prettier view. Overall a great stay, we will be back!

This was hands down the best camping ever!! We had such a great time. The creek was beautiful, the campsite so well groomed, and the host was so friendly. We did tent camping and enjoyed the fire pit, there was also a grill for our convenience. I would come back to this campsite or any other with this host again and again! Bonus was finding a cave, exploring the terrain and hearing the coyotes at night. Five stars!!

It was a great spot with small falls nearby for sound, because what better way to sleep. There was a meteor shower the night we were there and it was spectacular for views of the sky! We were able to order firewood and have it at our campsite upon arrival. The host was also kind enough to bring us a table as well. No complaints and would definitely recommend

Placed perfectly in between two popular Buffalo National River Access Points: South Maumee and Spring Creek. Grassy Road currently offers: three tiny house cabins, 3 tent sites with 20 amp electric, 3 more primitive tent sites, and 9 RV sites that are full water/sewer hookups with 20/30/50 amp service. Two of these pull through RV sites are Big Rig friendly designed for a class A motorhomes. There is a private two unit bathhouse with hot showers! This campground is designed to operate remotely through partners like Hipcamp without owners or managers always on site. All check-ins and check-outs will be done self service. The owners have kayaks and life jackets that are available to borrow they ask that you message them before and be sure to return them in good condition. There is firewood for sale provided by a neighboring friend. There are several trails that criss-cross the property, and we encourage everyone to explore just be safe and try to give other vacationers their privacy. Our close proximity to the Buffalo National gives you easy access for an awesome experience! South Maumee and Spring Creek access points are less than 10 miles away, and Dillard's Ferry is less than 14 miles. For hiking, the Buffalo River Trail passes right over South Maumee Rd, and leads to several seasonal waterfalls! Fishing is allowed on site, and in the Buffalo River with an Arkansas fishing license. The towns of Marshall and Leslie are close by with good restaurant options such as: Skylark Cafe, and the Red River Cafe. Blanchard Springs Caverns is a must-see, and at 30 miles in distance makes a great option for a day trip.

Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin (soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river. FYI: The infamous Cadron Boy slept in a rock crevice on the property hidden from view for months before he was discovered. This is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties -- Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. Most people camp in 1) Sparky's Garden -- it is easily accessible, level, soft, and open to the stars. Plus the rock walls and banisters provide for a homey, safe feeling. And because it is close to privy and electrical charging station it is an obvious favorite. However, one of our favorite spots is atop 2) Deer Stand Rock which is literally perched atop a rock pinnacle -- great views but a long fall, be careful; this is NOT a place for "sleepwalkers". But you can also camp atop the bluff just up the hill from Deer Stand (and closer to your car) and still have some great sunset views. This site even has a picnic table, fire pit and level tent site (and trees for hammocks). As for privacy then we suggest 3) Piney Hideaway -- a campsite hidden from view in the stand of a large grove of pine trees west of Sparky's cabin. This campsite is so hidden we tempt you to even find it! You'll like it. And lastly, we have the new 4) River Camp -- a small campsite just above the flood plain and down close to the creek with the bluffs as your backdrop. This is your "summer station" when one needs an escape from the heat. Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions. The best trail -- the one to the creek -- descends over 100 feet to the creek and breaks out onto an overlook as you edge your way along the bluff and then descend a set of steps through a crack in the rocks. The trails from the campsites offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. We'll be offering more info and pictures soon but wanted to get this posted if anyone wants a place far removed from everyone. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

You can spend the day swimming with the locals at the Blue Hole or floating the Buffalo from several different access points. Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too. I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own. I work at the Calico Rock Museum and invite you to visit us. We have a wonderful Heritage Center and a gallery/gift shop with works of art created by local artisans. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock. Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn. You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that. There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.) The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). You may need extensions for your power and sewer. I have them available, if you don’t have your own. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE.
