Guests may stay in RV, van, or tent sites tucked into our wooded ridge property. The land is still a work in progress as we continue building and improving the homestead, so visitors should expect a rustic, honest setup rather than a fully developed campground.
We do offer electric and water hookups, along with a shower tent and porta-potty facilities for guest use.
The property is surrounded by woods, wildlife, and the natural sounds of the Ozarks. Evenings bring starry skies, quiet country nights, and the peaceful rhythm of rural life.
We also operate a small cottage bakery on the property called Two Roots Rising, and fresh baked goods may occasionally be available during your stay. Our chickens also keep us stocked with farm fresh eggs, which are sometimes available from our small homestead stand when the girls are laying well.

Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!!
There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river.
BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. PLEASE -- we don't want to be bothered with phone calls and text messages -- not here anyway.
Trails from Sparky's Cabin lead in all directions offer access to hiking, swimming, fishing and paddling. You'll find no better place to "forest bathe".

Buffalo River Hideaway, WE NOW HAVE COMMERCIAL PORTA-POTTY AT SITE. We have level gravel parking pads, less than a mile, as a crow flies, from the Buffalo National River. About 2 miles straight from the Gilbert access, perfectly situated for any river-play for the Middle Section of the River. In Gilbert, you can find “Buffalo Camping and Canoeing Outfitters” for all of your river floating/vessel rentals. Numerous local restaurants: Big Springs Trading, Ferguson’s, CrawBilly’s, or grab some smoked ham/bacon/cheese at Coursey’s. During the season and on weekends, one can usually find live music at some of these venues. No hookup services at this time. WATER ONSITE - -Commercial PORTA-POTTY ONSITE and serviced weekly. The site is very private and peaceful in the river-backwoods, where wildlife abounds. It will be your option whether to keep the gates open or closed during your stay. Please keep in mind the site is just off a county-maintained gravel/dust road. During the dry season, the road dust could affect certain persons with breathing issues. Also, there is, a very high concentration of Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds flying about.
About a mile east of the double gates, is beautiful Red Bluff Overlook, Sand Hole river-access, and further down these many dirt-roads that parallel along the river, you can get to the North Maumee access point of the Buffalo National River. Hiking trails are found at Gilbert and Tyler Bend, intersecting with other trails that lead beyond and along the river. Swimming holes can be found at:; Gilbert gravel bar 2.5 miles, Grinder’s Ferry 7.7 miles, Shine Eye 7.8 miles, Tyler Bend 11 miles, Baker Ford 11 miles, and - 4WD or AWD vehicles are HIGHLY recommended to get to the river-swim-float accesses.. Don’t forget your fishing gear for the small-mouth bass at these swimming holes! Please familiarize yourself with fishing laws and fish limits, specifically for the Buffalo River. Branson is 66 miles away, and Springfield, Missouri, is 110 mi in distance. Host is always nearby/onsite. Inverter type generators are acceptable, and please take your trash upon departure. Please do not leave trash or cans in the fire pit. Firewood available. .

Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn.
You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that.
There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas.
The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.)
The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). You may need extensions for your power and sewer. I have them available, if you don’t have your own.

Things like poison ivy, seed ticks, chiggers, ants, spiders, snakes, wildlife...Always check with the host on the app before arrival. Arriving when it gets dark will mean you will be setting up in the dark unless you have brought lanterns. If you've booked a site, the gate will be open for you, but you will be on your own. The camp host from April 27 - July 1st is on call for guests needs, but is not on site. Checkout time is by Noon. Check in is at 2:00 pm. In 2019, my husband and I acquired and renovated some of the original Miramichee stone cabins. We are located on the Southfork River, in Hardy, Arkansas. We have 1 cabin on the river and 3 cabins a short walk from the river, up a wooded hillside, for rent here at Camp Miramichee Falls. There are a few other privately owned cabins in the neighborhood and we live on the property.

Located on our 140 acre family farm, you will cross a low-level creek to access this property. (Truck or SUV is recommended, 4wd during rainy conditions.)
Sites have composting toilet/outhouses available as well as access to fishing, swimming and kayaking in Polk Bayou, with beautiful water views of Sullivan creek. Enjoy the hiking trails and take in the beautiful scenery of the Ozark Hills during your stay.
Pets that are leashed and well behaved are welcome, but we must be notified that you will be bringing them.

Welcome to Grassy Road Cabins & Camping, a peaceful 23-acre getaway in the heart of the Ozarks. Our property blends rolling pasture, patches of forest, and a beautiful recreational fishing pond—perfect for morning coffee, quiet walks, and unforgettable sunsets. We’re ideally located between two popular Buffalo National River access points, South Maumee and Spring Creek, giving you fast, easy access to some of the best floating and hiking in Arkansas.
Choose from three cozy tiny-house cabins, 3 electric tent sites, 3 primitive tent sites, and 9 full-hookup RV sites with 20/30/50 amp, water, and sewer. Two of our RV sites are big-rig friendly pull-throughs ideal for Class A motorhomes. All guests have access to our clean two-unit bathhouse with hot showers, treehouse play area, trails, fishing pond, and our new hillside group fire pit for evening gatherings under dark, starry skies.
Check-in is simple and self-guided, making arrivals easy at any time. Firewood is available for purchase, and kayaks and life jackets may be borrowed—just message us first and return them in good condition.
We encourage guests to explore the property’s trails, enjoy catch-and-release fishing, or head to the river for paddling and swimming. The Buffalo River Trail crosses South Maumee Road and leads to stunning bluffs and seasonal waterfalls. With an Arkansas fishing license, you can fish both on-site and in the Buffalo.
Nearby towns Marshall and Leslie offer great local restaurants like Skylark Café and Red River Café. Blanchard Springs Caverns, only 30 miles away, makes for an incredible day trip.
Dog Policy: We are dog friendly for RVs and cabins, but dogs must remain leashed and owners must clean up after them. Please note that tent campers should only bring experienced outdoor dogs—many indoor-only pets bark all night due to wildlife sounds, which disturbs the entire campground.

Beautiful spot in a well-maintained field right by the river. We found the spot with no trouble thanks to Michael's detailed directions. There was a riverside picnic table and a very clean outhouse with hand sanitizer included! The only downside might be that there are train tracks on the other side of the river that lead to some rocket launchpad level noise overnight. I would not let that dissuade me from staying again, however.

Our experience at this beautiful campground was a delight. The view was stunning, the amenities were incredible, and the hosts were so kind. This spot is unparalleled! We enjoyed taking in the sunset, then stars, and then morning fog. We are so grateful we got to spend time here and for the hospitality we were shown.

Our group used two campsites next to each other (8&9). We loved parking our RVs at Casey's place, Carver Ridge Campground, because it was both beautiful and convenient. We spent two days floating the Buffalo River. Day 1 we went from Hasty Access to Carver, and the next day we went from Carver to Mt. Hersey. The campground was less than a mile from the river.
The camping spaces were large with an amazing view and the bathrooms are spacious and sparkling clean.
We would definitely camp here again.

We had an amazing stay at Valley of Peace. Sites are all beautiful and Cave Creek is clear and very welcoming. There are several places to cool off along as fishing and just relax listening to all sounds of nature. Walter is wonderful can bring you firewood and fresh country eggs, explains the camp and the surrounding area. Seeing his cows, calves, and beautiful horses is perfect touch to a fantastic camping experience. We will definitely be returning frequently. Highly recommend.

We only got to stay one night here but enjoyed every second. The land was pristine. The view from the bluff was breath taking. The host was beyond accommodating and very sweet. The directions to the property were detailed and lead us there no problem. It was very peaceful at night and the stars were gorgeous even on a full moon night. We loved the place and would definitely return in the future.

This campsite was separate from all the other campsites which I really enjoyed. It was very relaxing listening to the sounds of the creek. I also added the guided hike with Mr. John. He is very knowledgeable about the area and I really enjoyed the hike.

Beautiful grounds. Beautiful river. Peaceful.
The roads down to the creek were more than my class B could handle ( risk adverse) but the RV area was well laid out & plenty of locations to pick from. We were the only ones on site & so enjoyed the peace & quiet. The area along the creek is truly amazing with so many camp spots & areas to enjoy the water. What an amazing find & so appreciative of the opportunity to access these beautiful places thru hip camp.

Absolutely beautiful site right by the creek. Little trails directly from the site and other trails/Wooly Hollow State Park nearby. We loved our time here and enjoyed how peaceful it was among the trees and by the creek.
