French Connection Wines is right next door and the renowned William Chris Vineyards is just 1 mile away. Our property features a shared, covered outdoor patio with a games court for corn hole, checkers, and bocce (checkers, boards and balls provided), gas fire pit, and a gas grill for those cooler nights. The patio is lighted with cafe lights. One of the RV slips is covered, while the other is nestled under a charming burr oak tree. On-site, we also offer a rental cabin. The covered RV slip is equipped with 30 and 50 amps, the other hookup is 50 amp, both have their own water and clean out connections. Both RV slips are on grass/dirt, and the entrance/exit is grass and dirt. *****IF IT RAINS heavily while you are here, please use the paved driveway to exit the property as you may get stuck in the grass at the big double gate.***** Our property uses rain water recapture. Please conserve water when you can when cooking, washing up and cleaning. No washing of cars or RVs is allowed. Please note that there might be other guests staying on the property during your visit. Kindly be considerate of noise levels and how it may impact the experience of fellow guests. You may also be sharing amenities such as the grill, deck, outdoor kitchen, and games court. A Texas Hill Country ranch with uncrowded “primitive” campsites about 8 miles from Fredericksburg and about 12 miles from Enchanted Rock. There is no running water, no electricity and no WiFi at the campsite. There is a picnic table, some chairs, a fire ring with some firewood and a portable toilet. This site is suited to tent camping, car camping and small RV "dry camping". There is relative privacy, hopefully starry nights and campfire provisions. Guests share a pasture with livestock and wildlife. Weather in all its variations is part of camping. If you are not prepared to deal with whatever the weather may be, you should consider another option. We encourage guests to research this destination before booking, carefully review our cancellation policy, and consider buying travel insurance to protect against unexpected travel disruptions. Weather conditions are not an acceptable reason for a refund or change of reservation for this campsite. Cellular service is limited here. AT&T provides a good signal in this area. HOWEVER **** SPRINT, VERIZON and T-MOBILE may have “VERY POOR” or “NONEXISTENT” cellular signals at this site. We have neighbors, and although the place is relatively large, and we don't anticipate a problem, there is no guarantee that you will not be bothered by some kind of noise. Likewise, we don’t want our neighbors bothered by any noise coming from you. People live out in the country to enjoy separation of space. Please be considerate of others and keep noise to a minimum. Observe quiet time after 9 pm and before 8 am. The country roads in this area are paved and they are excellent for walking, bicycling and driving. There are “cattle guards” in the roadways. Cattle guards are steel pipe obstacles along a road intended to prevent livestock, such as sheep and cattle from passing out of a fenced area. If you book this property you will be able to check yourself in at the property. We were in town for an event at Garrison Brothers and this site was perfect for it. Annie's Spot is almost level and is easy to back into if you come in from the driveway. Make sure you have two sewer and fresh water hoses. We needed them for our very short trailer. Our electrical cord was long enough, but it wouldn't hurt to have an extension. It's just a 50 amp plug, so make sure you have an adapter for a 30 amp rig. Looking forward to staying here again soon.

We had an amazing stay at Hye Table! It was a great, spot on a lovely property. Such a great location to visit all the Texas Hill Counrty has to offer. We were lucky enough to meet the Host and she gave us several suggestions on wineries and eateries! There is no doubt that we will return again for another stay!

This was a lovely spot to camp. The land was beautiful and very convenient to Enchanted Rock. Michelle was very hospitable and kind. The portable restroom was exceptionally clean and convenient. We only interacted with the cattle when Michelle invited us to feed them. Cell service was strong on the property. We unfortunately had severe weather in the middle of the night, and we appreciated that she reached out during the storm via text to check on us. There were unfortunately ant hills throughout our campsite, but it is their home after all. They did bite, so I’d advise wearing closed-toed shoes. We would have appreciated clearer signage marking our campsite, as the map was only marginally helpful and we felt the need to confirm with Michelle that we were in the right spot before unloading. Overall, Michelle was lovely to stay with.

Great site for both RVs and Tents. 50/30 amp hookup with water and 110v outlets. Mulched area with picnic table, fire ring and grill

This was very nice even on a rainy day! We got there and stayed for one night and we saw two friendly long horns as well as a funny donkey that was also friendly. There is great places around the site too that is very local and friendly, would definitely recommend.

Great place to stay! Location is convenient to 290/Austin, but property offers excellent privacy. Kids loved the longhorns and the donkey. Bathroom and shower were well-constructed. We played 2 rounds of disc golf too, which was fun! Overall, highly recommend and will stay again!

Loved our stay on Sherrie and Johnnie’s property! Beautiful spot and a quick drive away from Hamilton pool and Reimer’s ranch! We were the only ones camping there for the weekend so Johnnie let us have our pick of the campsites. They have such a charming property with hammocks and tables and even an outdoor shower with warm water. Very hospitable hosts, Johnnie checked in with us throughout our stay to make sure everything was going well. We will be back!!

What a perfect spot! We stayed 3 nights in Site 9 and had a blast. We used the ranch as a base camp and visited some of the nearby state parks during spring break. The property is quiet and the stars are bright at night! There’s plenty of room for kids to run and play and be kids.

Sheri and Johnnie were lovely hosts. Greeted me on arrival, showed me the different camping spots available, walked me to see the neighbor's donkeys, and helped move a bbq grill that had wasps nesting in it at my campsite. They were extremely responsive on communications, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Their land is quiet and private, and yes, you will hear animals occasionally like a rooster or a donkey, but it's totally fine and adds to the vibe of being outdoors and in nature. Loved the camping site setup. Picnic table, separate wood small prep table, fire ring, water hose, hammocks, and compostable toilet all for use. Spot for you to park your car. Walking around the property, you will find a swinging 2-seater seat, frisbee golf area, and other things. Only about a 15 minute drive to the nearest gas station/quickie mart. I was told there is an HEB nearby as well. Super friendly hosts, well-kept property, spacious, and an easy getaway from Austin. Would definitely come back for another camping trip!

3 nights at Starlit Flat on the 1873 Ranch

Starlit Flat is the perfect name for this location. Sitting there next to the campfire, ypu look up and all you can see is a sky full of stars. A cold front came through when we stayed and the wind was strong causing a burn ban on the final day, but otherwise our stay was great! It's really close to both Fredericksburg and Enchanted Rock which is what we were looking for. We have 5 kids ranging from 9 months old to 13 years old and they all enjoyed it, and having a port-a-potty there definitely helps! Would highly recommend!

Great park + campgrounds less than 1.5 hr from Austin. Our site was beautiful + near the lake + felt private considering how close to the bathrooms + trails. Popular park so try to go during the week, but even when busy, easy to find less traveled trails + some peace + quiet.

Close enough to hop over to Longhorn Caverns and take a tour or a nearby cave system but still head back for lunch or dinner. Hiking trails are available and, depending on the weather, the lake could be fun to take a dip in. It can get crowded as it isn't a large state park and doesn't have a ton of campsites so it's always important to call well in advance and see what's available.

Just got back from Inks Lake and not impressed. Maybe it is a fall thing, but our camp site was full of sand/grass spurs! Nothing like camping in the middle of cacti! We were on site 94. We tried to get rid of them, but realized it was over run and we would never see the end. I thought our tent would be fine, but took one step in without shoes only to have them go right through the bottom. We didn't want to leave so we ended up buying carpets at a walmart to cover the floor. Otherwise, I was afraid they would puncture our air mattresses. I am surprised no one has mentioned them. My poor feet and hands are just sore from getting stuck all weekend. It is quiet and they rent canoes and kayaks.

Took a quick camping trip this weekend to Inks Lake and set up camp right next to the lake. Rented kayaks from the boathouse and easily rowed over to Devils Waterhole to enjoy swimming and cliff jumping. The hiking trails were easy but beautiful, and my three year old loved being able to lead us on our trek since he is normally strapped to our back. Close to Longhorn Caverns. Loved this small park - such a gem.

We discovered Ink's Lake through an outing organized Southwest Teardrop and Vintage Campers. It is just over an hour from our home. Although we were there on a busy summer weekend, we were impressed by the facilities including a well stocked store. Our site was on the way to the Devils Water Hole, on one of the inlets. We were visited by Canadian geese and ducks as well as the numerous friendly squirrels. We plan to return soon.

I love Inks Lake. It's my favorite go to state park in Texas. The campgrounds are clean and spacious – you don't feel like you're on top of people. Definitely a great place to go during the warmer times of year to take a dip in the lake. Some of the best sunsets I've seen in Texas.

This place is a great weekend spot; but it's also pretty busy. I have hiked most of the area and have seen the swimming hole. I recommend tent camping because you can usually get a spot right next to the lake.

A great place for a weekend camp with kids. A nice shallow lake bed for young kids (plus all those mussel shells to pick through!), easy hiking trails that are still entertaining for an adult, and a camp store in case you forgot anything. There's even a playground (we've never used it - always too busy romping on the rocks or in the woods), fishing piers, and a bird blind which I feel is a much overlooked feature because you have to drive out of the official entrance to get to it. It's worth the stop! The site fills fast, so reserve your spot before heading out. I prefer the water-only sites on the west side as they seem to be less crowded and quieter.

Inks Lake was a great camping experience. Renting a canoe or kayak is a MUST! Take it to Devil's Waterhole! If you go in the morning you will see a lot of snakes basking in the sun on the banks of the lake making for great wildlife viewing!

Ink's Lake is my number one weekend campsite. Just over an hour from Austin, TX, this site has it all- A beautiful lake (as you might have guessed from the name), picturesque cliffs, miles of hiking trails and excellent facilities for campers of any level. I couldn't recommend it more.
