This 55 acre park is home of a large sandstone that contains 8 markings believed to have been made by Vikings many years ago. The park features a seasonal waterfall, covered picnic areas, playground, amphitheater with seating, community building, scenic views, gift shop and approximately 2 miles of nature trails. Be advised that most tent sites have a tent pad but a few are primitive mountain terrain (rocky). The one RV site is for 16 ft. or less vehicles and smaller teardrop trailers with limited hook-up and no dump station. Restroom and shower facilities are located within the park. Individual campsites DO NOT have onsite toilets. Forest setting while still close to stores in case of forgotten items. Variety of small wildlife in the area. Not too far from home, but just far enough to feel like an adventure, we are conveniently located 20 minutes outside the quaint college town of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Individual sites are many acres apart designed in such a way that every experience is peaceful and private. We offer maintained camping sites which are easily accessible that come with amenities, in addition to our alternative primitive camping experience for the pros further in the Backwoods. What ever your needs or preference we have a spot for you! We have easy access to two main highways with the nearest Walmart 10 minutes away, not to mention great cell phone coverage for all the main providers at most locations on the property.
A little bit about how we started. Like most of us, we were in desperate need of a place to get away from the bustle and grind of daily life, to slow down, decompress, and destress. This land the universe had waiting for us, gave us just that! It changed our lives and now we are excited to open up this sanctuary to others who share our passion for the great outdoors! Interestingly, each year we find out more about our home, from its Native American prehistory, to its 19th century Civil War conflict, and most recently, a lost article published in the 1940s in the local Oklahoman gazette that enticingly gossips about long lost Buried Treasure!

My location is about 8 miles due west of the little town of Caney, Oklahoma. I’m very rural, no close neighbors, 19 acres of pasture and woods. Plenty of places to park, one area is back in the woods a bit with water and 50 amp service, others strictly boondocking. There’s not much “close” to me but I’m kind of centrally located between Atoka, Texoma and McGee lakes. Boggy depot state park and Fort Washita is close by and south of me is the Choctaw Casino. It’s very quiet and no nighttime lights so there’s an awesome night sky.
Please check out the map I've included in my photos for precise directions. The last 2.5 miles to get to my house is by gravel road and my entrance may be a bit difficult to spot but my name and address is on the big black mailbox. Just turn in and cross the cattle guard and go through the driveway into the open field. Parking is on the north side of the drive along the tree line or back in the woods. Don’t hesitate to contact me directly for directions. If you follow my guidance, you should have no problem finding me or turning into my drive.
Pets are welcome but I suggest they remain on a leash if you’re around my house or other campers and please clean up after them. The open field around my house is not always mowed because my neighbor cuts the hay and I like the spring wildflowers. I try to keep a walking path around my place but I travel too so at times it may not be well maintained. Since I do travel a lot, I may not be home when you arrive. Please make yourself at home and leave the place as you found it. Thank you!

We are a 400 plus acre working family ranch raising Registered Texas Longhorns. We offer homegrown steaks and hamburger for purchase during your stay. In season we offer homegrown fresh vegetables you can purchase to go with your steaks- your welcome to even pick your own. If fresh vegetables are not in season we do have a selection of salsas, jellies, and pickles made on the ranch. There are three ponds for fishing, lots of wildlife including nesting baldeagles. Bring sturdy enclosed shoes for hiking. Bring your canine friend, they will have a vacation of a lifetime. Pawhuska is only 13 miles away, if you want to let someone else cook your dinner. This property is 10 acres that has a Crystal Clear Spring Fed Creek on it. We own both sides of the creek. The creek is a cool refreshing crystal Clear and peaceful place. Great place to takes in the beautiful and get one with nature. The creek changes with ever flood. At this time we have 1 big swimming hole to swim in. There are small mouth bass and if you want to try your hand at catching crawdads they are a plenty. May 1st we require a 2 night minimum for the weekends.

very pretty with
lots of wildlife. Horses run on the land. Johnny Park was named after John Brewer, a
relative that designed and built a park after we bought this land. Spring and summer are the prettiest times to visit.

Take a look at our website to see photos of the property, hadleylake.com will take you there. We offer catch and release fishing in the pond along with walking trails marked by the mowed pathways. Use the outdoor faucets on the house for water. The fire pit surrounded by rocks is located near the picnic benches under the trees by the pond next to the log cabin house.
RV Spots have 110, 30amp, 50amp hookups along with water, sewer, and wifi. Trash is the dumpster at the driveway entrance.
Dry/tent spots are at least 20’ wide by 40’ deep and can be used for campers or tent camping. These are located on the grassy areas. There are NO hookups for dry/tent dispersed sites.

I would recommend this HipCamp location. The host gave excellent instructions to navigate by. Easy check-in, easy access to electric and to water.
Courtney even dropped by to say hello personally.
Added unadvertised benefit were the two gentle horses stabled next to the campsite. What a pleasant experience

I came in after dark, found the directions were perfectly suitable, and was met outside by Mark to ahow where the spot was. The quick VW tour and chat was great too, wish I cpuld ha e spent more time talkin cars with him, but I was knackered after a 12hr roadtrip. Fell asleep to coyotes yip'n & yaw'n easily within 100yds. Great spot!

Good directions to facility. Clearly marked parking spots and electrical hook ups. Long hose was available for filling water tank (we did not use due to cold weather). We arrived late (9 p.m.), which was a non-issue; many places have a set time frame for arrival. The automatic spot lights on the barn really helped, as it was quite dark. Parking spot was coarse gravel with no need to level. Lots of area to walk the dog. Mini donkeys were nearby and very friendly. Hosts were in contact with us along the way, offering to help with hook ups and to meet us despite the late hour. Very friendly and accommodating. Quiet. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stop at Heavener Runestone Park. The terrain is hilly and scenic. Our highlight was watching the sun set from the scenic overlook. The amenities are a bit faded, but functional. This was a comfortable place to spend the night on our way south. It was fun to learn about this odd bit of history, too!

Delightful! Courtney is an awesome host! The campground is small (currently 8 sites) and no frills. Most of the other campers seem like long-term folks. All sites were neat and tidy. The campground itself is quiet. However... it is close enough to Ft Sill artillery range that firing might rattle the windows.
Wifi is provided but I didn't use it. Tmobile Home Internet had 2-3 bars 5G. Verizon was about 1-2 bar LTE. I was able to work during the day using the Tmobile.
I saw spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is close. Stores in Lawton are about 30 minutes away.
This is my kind of campground. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Camping on Mark and Angela’s land was simple. They met us when we arrived, gave us a great tour of the VW Krankenhaus (which as former owners of several different VWs, we enjoyed!), showed us where to find the facilities, and left us to set up camp. They were friendly and their place was as described.

This has to be the best place to camp in Oklahoma. Longhorns roaming around, getting to tour with Casey (grandson) and the host, Glenda, was awesome. Such a great family and time on this property. I was there 6 nights, 4 at a camp where I truck camped, 2 at the tiny home. The tiny home was perfect when it got really cold and was able to have a good comfortable shelter. The campsite was great and remote but still able to have the longhorns roaming nearby. I would 100% recommend to anyone in this area and plan to stay next time I’m over that way.

I found the location very easily and the owner even warned me of a dip in the road so I came in from a different direction (which they outlined to me) because I have a relatively low to the ground clearance trailer that I tow. Mark and Angela were very helpful reaching out to me before and during my trip. They are both VW enthusiasts and Angela gave me a tour of their VW collection in and around their pole barn garage. They were both very hospitable and I enjoyed my stay there.
They made their cabana bathroom available for my stay which was super nice. Would highly recommend if you're in the Oklahoma City area as a place to stay.
