The Navasota River Ranch is a 600 ac parcel of land bounded by more than a mile of the Navasota River on its west side and two tributary creeks on its north and southeast sides. The river bottom is wild and untamed, while the rest is rolling hills reminiscent of the prairie that once greeted settlers. Nearby is Bryan-College Station home of Texas A&M University To the west on Hwy 105 is Washington on the Brazos State Park. This is the location where delegates gathered to hastily draw up a declaration of independence before joining the Runaway Scrape to avoid capture and execution by the advancing Mexican Army. Farther down the road is the famous Blue Bell creamery in Brenham. The tour and ice cream are well worth the trip. On the property are miles of Jeep trails excellent for off road and 4WD vehicles. Guests might prefer hiking along these trails or strike out on foot trails and game trails. Thanks to the hunters who have come for the deer and feral hogs over the years there are numerous observation structures for viewing wildlife up close, or just enjoying the solitude of the deep woods. Three ponds offer bass and perch fishing from the bank or bring your own boat. And then there is the Navasota River...

Murphy's Stand
Full moon camping
William was super welcoming and hospitable. We let him know it was our first time camping in years he gave us a run down on popular areas to setup and made sure we were happy with our spot. Watching the sunset and sunrise was an absolute treasure, and under a full moon the sky was so clear we didn’t even need a lantern! Our group had such a good time we agreed to start camping regularly we’re looking forward to exploring even more of the area next time.

William land is breath taking! Amazing to see other campers being so responsible as well. This was our first time out there and we will for sure be back! Tons of trails to explore and awesome spots to pitch your tent with great views. William makes sure you are all set and even passes by to ask if you need anything. Was really nice about us showing up pretty late 9:30 PM.

Big Glade
Amazing stay highly recommend!
We absolutely loved staying here! It was also our first time using Hipcamp but William is very responsive and was extremely helpful in getting us checked in, provided a map, and got us out to our campsite. We had originally booked for Big Glade but ended up staying at Murphy’s Stand right on the river! This was late February and it was in the 50s overnight but during the day it was beautiful, sunny, breezy, and in the 70s. Getting out to the campsites is definitely doable in 2WD, but certain areas would likely need 4WD, especially if it’s been rainy (William was great in pointing out on the map where to go and what to avoid). Had no trouble at all in our jeep gladiator, but we did end up having to recover a jeep renegade that had wandered into a muddy zone. All in good fun though! Unlike a state park or national park, there are no designated campsites, which was new for us but we loved it, and we were able to grab a very spacious area all to ourselves. The girlfriend, pup, and I had a lot of fun. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Murphy's Stand
Great location. Plenty of space and William goes out of his way to make sure you have what you want. 4WD is strongly recommended unless it hasn’t rained in weeks!
