Chattooga Belle Farm – They Built It! By Tracy McCoy I wonder if when standing on the sprawling in upstate South Carolina, just a short hour trip from Greenville, Ed and Kitty Land heard a small still voice say, “if you build it, they will come.” While there isn't a baseball field on the property, that's about all that is lacking. Chattooga Belle Farm began as an event building set on acres with a small seasonal retail store. Soon people found their way to the soon-to-be full-fledged farm and they felt it; that feeling that you've found a very special place. Peaceful, majestic and unlike any other, Chattooga Belle Farm is quite possibly the perfect place for any event and most certainly an ideal place to pledge your heart and life to another. Since the Lands opened their doors in 2010 they have come. There have been families, couples, groups, the media and fruit pickers who have all visited the farm; and they return year after year. Having been written up countless times across the southeast, US and more recently featured on The Today Show, the farm just keeps growing and getting better. With a history of growing sweet juicy apples, the soil in this part of the world has proven to be excellent for peaches, muscadines, scuppernongs, and blueberries. The farm also grows exotic fruits like persimmons, paw paws, Asian pears, figs, and more! The landscape is picturesque and the mountain views are truly breathtaking in every direction. The farm hosts farm to table dinners that sell out year after year. Their U-Pick fruit opportunities evolve throughout the season with something always coming in from early summer through fall. A list of available fruit is updated often on their website, upcoming events and information about cabin rentals on Horseshoe Lake. The recent addition of a distillery on the farm means the fruit is grown, fermented, distilled and bottled on the farm. The distillery is open year round Monday – Saturday. ged in oak barrels and aged to produce some of the finest liquors made in these mountains. The farm store is complete with fresh produce (in season), canned jams, jellies and bottled ciders. Grass-fed, natural, antibiotic-free Black Angus beef is sold in the store. The cattle are raised on pasture which produces some of the healthiest beef you can buy. Using only natural, humane and environmentally sustainable practices, the Lands and their staff raise beef as nature intended. Bringing the best to your family has never been easier. Belle's Bistro at Chattooga Belle Farm serves salads, sandwiches, burgers and soups made with the freshest ingredients possible. The bistro is open for lunch Tuesday – Sunday from April – October. The glamping tents are absolutely wonderful! We had so much fun, and there's so much to do at the Outpost.

Unfortunately the platform has incorrectly placed this sites location on its map several times, reported and corrected each time I’ve become aware. Adding this picture to hopefully inform interest guests before being mislead, wasting their (your) valuable time. Also, adding a note at the beginning of site description of the reoccurring issue interview this map within the picture section. Sincere apologies.

Great location. We had to cut our trip early unfortunately but Scott was absolutely amazing. Very welcoming very thoughtful. Checked in on us and made sure we were all set for the night. Fairly close to the beach and stores in case you forget something like us. 😂. Very pet friendly. If you have aggressive dogs towards other animals be forewarned! There are free range chickens. They face a good wake up call. We loved it

Weekend Trip to Friendly Fowl Farm

Belinda's property was just right for our short trip and felt secluded, while being easily accessible to nearby Hunting Island and downtown Beaufort. The property was spacious, and my friend and I enjoyed our time here! Belinda was kind and thorough in her directions and instructions for the site. As a reminder, this property is on a farm, and you may hear the rooster crowing or the geese honking! We were glad we had the chance to explore this beautiful area of S.C.

Absolutely incredible campground!! Location was epic—loved the privacy of the treehouse spot. Hosts were so incredible. Very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure the stay was wonderful. We were able to get the canoe through the woods and to the lake easily and docked it at their boat ramp when we came back in. Highly recommend and will be booking stays here until it’s not open anymore!

Loved our stay at the Bend. It was very quiet & private. No issue with noise or disturbance (even on a Saturday evening). Our hosts were extremely quick and responsive and wanted to ensure our stay went well (which it did). Fun to be camping on the river, but still just a few minutes to downtown Greenville. Hope to return!

We had a great experience camping on Ian’s land. There were several flat spots ideal for setting up our tents. And the river was a little low so there was a small beach for all the kids to hang on and to fish from. Ian met us as we arrived to give us the lay of the land. He was very accommodating to the ever changing size of our group and we communicated consistently until we arrived.

Incredible stay overall- being people who go camping quite often i definitely would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a genuine in-the-woods trip. We had 2x two-person tents set up no problem with the space and the fire pit was amazing. being so close to paris mountain and local farms was a huge incentive and we had a blast seeing everything. that being said we would’ve definitely prepped differently had we known the layout of the site. It’s about a 200 yard hike downhill from the parking area to the actual site (wheelbarrow provided) having to cross the creek with all of our gear plus climbing over a huge fallen tree to even get to the site was not mentioned until we arrived. The compost toilet tent did not have any sawdust nor was waterproof so the time we were there it got soaked though. plus the tent they had as the bathroom shelter did not have a working zipper to keep out bugs or weather. overall it was a wonderful time and mark was super nice! just if we had known the details we would’ve prepped better.
