We relocated to Redmond and LOVE being here! It has allowed us the opportunity to enjoy everything Central Oregon has to offer and we hope you too can experience and enjoy it as much as we do. It's all about making memories. It's also perfect for Fall/Winter fun and avoiding the summer crowds. Simply stay on our 5 acre property with complete hook ups if you're looking to avoid the bustle of downtown and it's hotel prices!
Our property is about 5 acres and tent spots are first come first serve with about 1 acre being closer to our house with shady grassy areas. The other 4 acres are in the pasture and mostly unshaded.
Pitch a tent out in the pasture, near the canal that runs through the property. We are a perfect location to the fairgrounds for the Farewell Festival/Rise Up Reggae Festival and all Bend festivals throughout the year. We are 4 miles to the festival sights in Redmond and 20 min to Bend. Ask about our shuttle rides to and from the festivities so just enjoy the ride, enjoy the show and come home for a relaxing evening under the stars.
If coming fortheRise Up Festival we offer the purchase of a weekend shuttle pass to and from the fairgrounds so you can enjoy your time and not spend it stuck trying to get out of the parking lot!!
If you are bringing an RV or trailer we have hookups for electric (first come basis).

This campsite is situated on a 20-acre farm, so it feels remote and removed from the primary residents. With this spot, you are nestled under a juniper tree that provides ample shade with a lava rock backdrop, and can watch the sun dip below the Three Sisters volcanoes in the distance. This spot is very simple and tucked away, perfect for stargazing at night with limited light pollution. There is a picnic table, swing, and fire pit (please make sure the fire ban is off for this). There is no water, electricity, septic, or wifi. You do have cell service.
Please remember, you may encounter wildlife. This can include, but not limited to, deer, coyotes, snakes, spiders, etc. I have seen many bull snakes around that mimic rattlesnakes but are harmless. As long as you do not aggravate any animals, they should leave you alone. Also, please remember if you have pets, to keep them under control and be aware that cheat grass in the summer months can get stuck in their paws, ears, etc.
While feeling remote and removed from the Bend tourism, it only takes 15 minutes to get downtown Bend, where there are ample restaurants, shops, coffeehouses, the Deschutes River, etc. It takes 7 minutes to get to Trader Joe's and Home Depot, and 10 minutes to get to St. Charles Hospital. We are perfectly situated between Smith Rock State Park (25 minutes) and the High Desert Museum (17 minutes).
Heads up: as many places in central Oregon, Picknik Place gets pretty dusty, dry, and hot in the summer months. You may also encounter minimal road noise. Enjoy this private spot with all of the surrounding natural beauty!

We loved this quiet stay just outside of Bend.
The neighborhood is SO QUIET. It really felt like a respite. The residence is in the back up a hill but we felt private with our RV We have a 41 foot fifth wheel and fit nicely in the spot. Beautiful sunsets. Trees out the front. Some nice cafe lights! Nothing FANCY but priced right for what you are getting in the bend area. We will come back again :)
FYI We did a pull in-drop off-back out configuration so the hookups were on the left side. The site was about 1.2 degrees un level from left to right in this configuration, so bring your jack blocks and levelers. The neighborhood road is not busy so it wasn’t too stressful backing in and out.

Ricki’s campsites were well maintained and had all the amenities - water, toilet, tables, chairs, etc. - one would need readily available. As someone with a CPAP machine, I really appreciated have electrical service available. I loved that her property was in the country, but enabled me to be in Bend in less than 10 minutes. Watching the full moon rise against a backdrop of conifers was spectacular!

What a wonderful town Redmond is and Chet put together a really wonderful spot to stay. Plenty of power, water and best yet sewer hook ups. We enjoyed 4 nights and this location allowed us to explore the sites in the area like Painted Hills and Smith Rock.
This was one of the best Hip Camps and any camp site we have had.

We brought our trailer for a 2 night stay and it was a perfect location. Beautiful scenery, quiet location, within driving miles of everything you need. Spot is to the right of the house but feels very private. Hookup for AC and hose for water. We loved sitting in our chairs and enjoying the view. There is a river nearby that we spent most of the evening at. Highly recommend!

Very cozy and inviting site in the woods with lawn stretching out from the camp area.
It’s well-maintained and spacious, close to town. If you’re towing a trailer, the site is easy to park in and pull out. Hosts were welcoming and accommodating. Chemical outhouse was immaculate. One of the best Hipcamps we’ve experienced. A+!

Chet was warm and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Even though our stay was just a single night, he welcomed us like old friends and made us feel completely at home at his lovely Hipcamp. He was kind enough to share fresh eggs from his own chickens with us, which was such a sweet, unexpected touch. 🥰
The site itself is peaceful and well cared for, and the location can’t be beat, it’s only about 15 minutes from Smith Rock. Making it an ideal base if you’re heading out to climb or hike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
