Just outside of the college town of Corvallis on the Long Tom River, Monroe often serves as a pit stop for RV campers on their way out to the Oregon Coast or to elsewhere in the Willamette Valley. Here you'll find a farm store and a few local shops, but not much else, although the Alsea Falls Recreation Site, Salmonberry County Park, and the William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge are all within a short drive away. You'll find plenty of public RV camping options in the Siuslaw National Forest and in the many coastal Oregon state parks, but if you want to be closer to Monroe, you’ll have the best luck with area RV parks and privately owned Hipcamp RV sites, which often come with paved parking, electric hookups, free wifi, and picnic tables.

Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

The road department put a sign up that makes our neighbors road look like it should be Crawfordsville Dr. NO GATE If you see a gate you are at the wrong driveway. Again NO GATE 5 Acers of woods, 1 Acer of field/grassland, and one are on the hill with gravel for up RV's. Property is only 0.35 miles from Calapooia river access (local secret spot). 1 mile to McKercher Park and additional river access. General store 0.75 miles away. Next to the historic Crawfordsville Covered Bridge. 8 miles from Brownsville, this town has been featured in multiple movies. 13.8 miles from Foster lake. At the bottom of the property there is a tree house, fire pit, and large grass field that could accommodate 20+ tents. We put in campsites, a cabin, a barn loft, and a fire pit. We offer these to guests when not being used by our family and friends. Wildlife includes deer, turkey, and quail & 3 active beehives. Guests are welcome to fresh eggs from the chicken coop. We are fully fenced and gated for your family and pets protection. South Santiam River is less than 1 mile for fishing, kayaking, or rafting. Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs. You can also play games inside or basketball outside. We really enjoyed staying on James and Linda's property. The site was easily accessible with our 31' travel trailer. All hook-ups worked as expected and were conveniently located. The site was nice and level. The RV location is in site of the house and the workshop, but we weren't necessarily bothered by that, just be aware its not incredibly secluded from the rest of the property! The property is beautiful and we took advantage of walking around both the property as well as hiking the local Goodman Creek Trail and exploring the town of Lowell. James was incredibly friendly and accommodating! He met us at the site when we arrived, checked in with us after set-up to make sure WiFi etc was working well, and had gotten fire material set up for us before arrival. He even allowed us to borrow a battery charger after we blew a fuse in the trailer overnight the first night! A wonderful spot for a weekend get-away.

This is a very nice spot, especially if you want convenient access to the Eugene area! The spot itself is a simple, no-frills flat gravel pad nestled in the trees on the side of a hill. It is private and relatively quiet — there is a small amount of distant road noise, but as someone who is a light sleeper, I slept great here. Cindy is a super responsive host. She got back to me almost immediately when I requested to book — very much appreciated! I would definitely stay here again, and I recommend it to anyone considering staying here!

We loved it here! The road is steep but I was able to get my 20ft camper up no problem with a 4 runner, would be fine for smaller rigs and vans. Also the power and water are probably 40ft from the camp spot so bring a long power cord and hose. The host were great and the views were great! My wife used it for a writing retreat! We will for sure book here again!

We always enjoy staying at Jared and Stephanie's place. I've reviewed it positively many times. We've made it one of our go-to stops for overnighting along this stretch of the I-5 freeway. The RV pad has full hookups and is large enough for our longer rig- we are sometimes 36 feet with our cargo trailer on. The view from the hillside is beautiful and it's very peaceful at night. Jered is a good communicator and will make sure you have whatever you need. Don't hesitate to stay here!

This hilltop retreat was perfect and exactly what we needed. Private, peaceful and all the beautiful scenes and weather we love to watch and witness. Layers of fog in the morning, views of clouds on the distant mountains, sounds of frogs and whistling wind, mix of sun and rain. For us was just perfect. The retreat itself was more than amble space for our 33’ RV, full hookups, our dogs loved it and the hosts Jared and Stephane were kind, responsive and very gracious. They truly made sure our stay was wonderful. I highly recommend staying and know we will be back again!

Hi Carly. We had an absolutely amazing time! Your place is so quiet and beautiful. We set the tent up underneath the canopy and it was wonderful. The rain wasn't too much with that extra protection. All the stumps and benches around the fire pit are fantastic for cooking on with my little backpacking stove. And the trailer plug was perfect; the electric car was fully charged in the morning! Next time we are driving south to visit my parents in California, I hope we can stay at your place!
