*Please read FULL site description and rules before booking so you know what to expect and what is expected of you!* 'Royal Heart Hill' is at the very end of a Dead-End road, which means no sound or light pollution from passing cars or nearby residences. Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

Learn more about this land: One mile from I-5, you may pitch your tent or park your van in a meadow near some fir trees bordering Elk Creek. Feel the restful flow of water bringing tranquility.  Follow hiking trails along the creek, through groves of trees, or play in the singing creek. There is another hiking trail to another portion of the creek to the right of the road that passes by the barn. A sign on an oak tree indicates the edge of the large mowed meadow that will take you to another sign for the trail to the creek. When entering the property at the county road, you’ll see a big Century Farm sign on the left at the driveway entrance. Continue past a brown machine shed. You will see two apple trees on your left. Just beyond the apple trees is a sign, on a big fir tree. This sign points to the direction of the campsite. Shaped like an arrow it points to the mowed path down to the creek and campsite which you may drive. Uphill from the campsite is a trail going through a small copse of trees that leads up to the red barn. On the left, at the entrance to the barn, is a bathroom complete with sink and shower. Towels are not provided. Beneath the apple trees is a faucet with potable drink safety hose and a bucket for your use.

Property is only 0.35 miles from Calapooia river access (local secret spot). 1 mile to McKercher Park and additional river access. General store 0.75 miles away. Next to the historic Crawfordsville Covered Bridge. 8 miles from Brownsville, this town has been featured in multiple movies. 13.8 miles from Foster lake. At the bottom of the property there is a tree house, fire pit, and large grass field that could accommodate 20+ tents. Our family "Riverhouse" is one of my favorite places in the world. We use it to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday professional life. The town of Harrisburg is such a cool, easy-going, quaint place to spend some time. Accessibility is one of its' key assets. Harrisburg has a few family owned places to eat at, and a few shops to explore. It's a one light town, but that is why we love it here. The river is my favorite part. I sit for hours on end, watching the water flow by. Fishing, rafting/floating, and wading in the water are all fun things to do here. **WE ARE CLOSED FOR THE 2026 CAMPING SEASON- Our home and property sustained extensive wind related tree damage this winter, and we are still cleaning up, removing hazard trees, and rebuilding. We hope to be hosting campers again starting Memorial Day weekend 2027. ** We have a private, single site located on the banks of the McKenzie River in Rainbow, Oregon. The campsite is near our home, but feels private. The access driveway and site size make it best for camper vans and smaller RV’s. Long trailers, large RV’s and tent camping are not permitted at this time. The site has 50/30 amp and 120 volt outlets, as well as water and Wi-Fi. We have a porta-potty on site Memorial Day through Labor Day. The property has many areas to set your camp chair or hang your hammock, and lots of short paths to explore. Recreation opportunities abound around here: hiking, biking, fishing, hot springs, cold springs, waterfalls, lava beds, whitewater boating on the river, and flat water paddling on the reservoirs. There are also four restaurants, a food cart, golf course and a general store nearby.

The hosts, James and Linda, are some of the most genuinely kind people you will ever meet; they truly went above and beyond to make our stay special and to make us feel at home. From finding freshly chopped wood ready at our campsite alongside a firestarter and everything we’d need to enjoy our picnic area, to picking juicy apples and peaches from their orchard, to hiking the freshly plowed trail up to a beautiful cliffside overlooking the forest and sunset—we’re so grateful to get to have enjoyed and experienced firsthand every bit of effort and care that James and Linda put into their land. We had a great time on our weekend getaway! We were met by the host who showed me where to connect, how to access the WiFi, and where to go for some outdoor enjoyment. The property was well maintained. We saw wild turkeys, a variety of birds in the trees and a family of deer. I ran into issue with my camper and the access to WiFi saved me. We will be returning in the future!

What a peaceful and beautiful retreat. The amenities were on point (the fire stove and perfectly sized wood and starter materials were awesome). We thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the waterfall and the shorter trail walk amongst the trees. It was perfect for exercising an injured knee. We hope to visit again and try the other trail—maybe once my knee is fully recovered. We saw lots of turkeys and squirrels and bunnies, there was evidence of other visitors, but they were shy and didn’t put in an appearance during our stay. We appreciated the treats left for our pups and that the host allowed us to let them off leash to play frisbee for awhile to get the wiggles out while nobody else was there. Our host gave us excellent driving directions and was super responsive. We will be booking again! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful and relaxing location.
