William Cornelius Vineyard is a 50-acre private working vineyard and farm that includes 6 acres of Vineyard, 15 acres of corn/soybean fields, and 15 acres of forest. Two vintage tobacco barns add rustic charm to the site. A lovely stream flows down cascading rock shelves along one side of the property, and a small pond is located on the other side. You will have the farm to yourself. There is only one RV site on the property and no other residents, except for the deer and occasional turkey, racoon, squirrels, and birds. From your RV and site you will have an unobstructed view over the vineyard of the sunset and western range of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Vineyard includes Viognier, Merlot, and Chambourcin grapes. Stony Knoll Winery nearby manages the vineyard and uses the grapes in production of their award-winning varietals. The Viognier won the 2023 Best of Show and Double Gold for the NC Fine Wines Show. Stony Knoll’s Rose, made from our Chambourcin, won the 2022 NC Best Rose. There are three wineries within a couple of miles, and 20 more wineries within a 30-minute drive. There are 3 must-see / hike state parks within a 40 minute drive: Pilot Mountain, Hanging Rock, and Stone Mountain. The charming town of Mt. Airy (Mayberry RFD from the Andy Griffith Show) and Elkin are within a 20 minute drive. The Yadkin River is only a few miles to the south at the quaint village of Rockford, and is popular for kayaking/tubing, fishing, and swimming. There is a tubing/kayak outfitter located there, along with an old general store with old-time candies, sodas, and a simple grill.

Hi there. Here is a little rundown of everything we do at the mill…. So, as far as camping, there are two main options on either side of the river; the mill yard or primitive camping across the river. In the mill yard, we do festival style camping, meaning that there are no individual campsites per se, but rather a large grassy lawn near the mill and bathhouse with shared fire pits, picnic tables, charcoal grill, and sinks for water/dishes. We also have two platforms up in the woods that are good for a little more privacy and are completely shaded, but do require a small climb up the hill. The bathhouse has three restrooms and hot showers in each. Across the river, there are several more primitive sites that are generally very private and offer great sounds coming from the river and waterfall, but no facilities. Most sites are car accessible, and a 5 minute walk back over to the mill (or a 1 minute drive). Lastly, our newest camping spot on the primitive side is a river front beach right by the dam with space for a several medium sized tents and a private fire pit. The beach is hike-in only (2-3 minutes along a mostly flat trail). Our normal rate is $10 per person per night. Firewood is available for $10 per wheelbarrow load. We accept cash, credit card, Venmo, Paypal, and crypto. We are also fairly flexible on check in/check out times, but just let us know if you’ll be arriving at odd hours. Dogs are generally welcome as long as they are kept on leash. Here is a little rundown of tubing at the mill (May-October, weather permitting). We have two tubing options available. We have a short Fun Run that takes roughly 45 minutes, and cost $10 per person for as many rides as you’d like. The river bends sharply like a horseshoe in this section, so it makes everything accessible by foot traffic. It’s a 3 minute walk up the trail to the dam, put in and float 30-45 minutes (depending on water level), then a 5-10 minute walk back to the mill carrying your tube. There is also the longer Forks Run, which last 3-4 hours (~2.5 river miles), and costs $15. For this, we shuttle you up the river in a vehicle, and you float back to the top of the dam, then 3 minutes walking back to the mill. Most weekends, tubing starts at 11 am and the last Forks Shuttle is around 3 pm, with the Fun Run staying open till around 5. Also, with enough heads up, we can sometimes arrange for trips during the week. Our tubes are required for each person floating for insurance and liability reasons, but you are welcome to bring your own cooler tubes to carry drinks and snacks. Technically, alcohol is not permitted on the river, but what is in your cooler is your business. Either way, please bring ALL trash out with you! Water shoes are recommended, and we have life jackets on request. Most of our tubes come with bottoms and back rests, but a few are open to the water. Most weekends, reservations are not required, but it does help tremendously if we know when you want to come and how many in your group. Weekend Trip to Easy Bend River Farms

What a wonderful stay at Christine’s treehouse! She has truly thought of everything to make this the perfectly cozy and relaxing stay. It has everything you need. The place is beautifully decorated and I felt like I was in a cozy artist’s studio. Even though the nights during our stay were cold, we were very warm and comfortable inside the treehouse with the heaters doing a great job. The views of the river from the treehouse is gorgeous and being able to open both garage doors to let the fresh air in really merged the outside freshness with the indoor relaxation. Christine’s property is also super cool! She has miles of hiking trails available and has stand up paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes available to use! There were even doggie life jackets! The treehouse is also only 45 minutes from Winston-Salem and the perfect weekend getaway. This is a stay we’d absolutely love to do again! (Also, make sure to follow the directions and NOT plug the treehouse address into Google Maps because that may lead you somewhere quite different).

I came here for a trip to get away from screens for a few days. Lori was a great host and provided a lot of extras for me and my cat which was very sweet! I highly recommend the brunch extra to anyone. I would definitely stay here again!

Weekend Trip to Sleep under the stars overlooking the mountains by babbling stream

Awesome spot!! Ample room for the dog to run around. The proximity of the river access was such a cool surprise! The weather was rather warm for November, so we could utilize the river. Super private. The wildlife/cattle are cool. Incredible stars at night. We had a bit of rain and a sort of crazy windstorm one night, but felt super secure in the structure. This is an ideal beginners “primitive” camping spot.

Weekend Trip to 24 On The Mountain

We had an amazing experience at 24 on the Mountain. From the moment we arrived, John — the host — made us feel genuinely welcome. He is friendly, attentive, and clearly takes a lot of pride in this property. You can tell he loves sharing his slice of mountain paradise with guests. The campsite sits high on the mountain with an unbeatable view overlooking Talbott Reservoir. We could see the dam, the water, and miles of gorgeous scenery. Sunsets and sunrises were unreal — the kind of views that photos can’t even come close to capturing. The site was clean, private, quiet, and extremely well thought out. Plenty of room to park and set up, and the layout made it feel like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. We enjoyed the peace, the stars, and the total escape from noise and crowds. John checked in just enough to make sure we had what we needed, but also respected our privacy. Exactly what you hope for in a Hipcamp host. We camp a lot, and this spot is easily one of our new favorites. If you’re looking for a relaxing mountain getaway with breathtaking views and a great host, book 24 on the Mountain. You won’t regret it and you'll love the elevation of 2800+ ft. We will definitely be back. — Tim & Nancy

Weekend Trip to Rustic Appalachian Cabin

Super cute cabin! Had everything we needed for the weekend even a s’mores kit!! Host were extremely helpful when we got confused with the lock box. The view was great watching the sunrise with the fog over the trees, plenty of paths to walk if you don’t wanna go to the Stone Mountain trail. We wanted a quiet place to elope with some of our closest friends we got that and so much more. Check out was super easy would definitely recommend for a quiet romantic getaway or even a small family vacation! Pet friendly accommodations for the bestest of pets. I don’t know how much more I can recommend, if you’re on the fence take the leap you won’t regret it in the slightest. We looked a so many other options but ultimately kept coming back to this one every time and glad we did! Thank you so much to the amazing hosts for having us and allowing us to have this moment here it will never be forgotten
