My husband, myself, our kids and grandkids all met up at this amazing farm just overnight for a wonderful and rare campfire get together, but wished we had stayed longer. The grandkids loved all the animals but especially Zeus, the big, super sweet dog of the property! The expansive property accommodates RVs well with plenty of space to be private yet camp amongst the animals. Our camp host greeted us, got us set up with power, and told us all about the workings of the farm and all that was available to us on the property. These extras that you don’t normally get at most Hipcamp properties was really cool! A barn with a restroom and gathering area where chili was available the night we were there along with many homemade and local goodies like shortbread cookies, honey, dried lavender sachets and produce for purchase. We happily donated a small amount toward taking care of the rescued animals on the farm. A couple of our kids and their families live in the area so we will definitely be back! Overall a decent stay. The staff at the brewery were confused about check in but we got it sorted out. It was in the colder season so we had a lot of privacy which was really nice. We enjoyed the ability to hang at the brewery/vineyard with other campers and we appreciated bathrooms available after hours. The butter beer and white wine hot apple cider were just what we needed that chilly night. Would stay again but my only complaint was it was hard to find a flat spot to set up. We found a decently flat spot but since we were sleeping directly on a mat on the ground we were shifting/sliding all night- prob would’ve been fine for a RV camper though.

This is a beautiful place with lots of space. We didn't have time to try the wines, but the beer at 1781 brewing (on the property) was excellent. Staff that we interacted with was very friendly. There are horses, chickens, geese and possibly cattle on the property, along with a beautiful pond. Although you can hear the truck traffic on Rt 3, it's not too bad. We had a quiet night to ourselves and the sunrise over the the grapevines was just extra.

We absolutely love this campsite! This was our third time staying here, and it gets better every year. The site itself is very private, spacious, and well-maintained — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors without feeling crowded. Derek, the owner, is always incredibly accommodating and goes above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need. We plan to keep coming back every year — it’s become one of our favorite getaway spots!

Beautiful, peaceful location with an incredibly friendly and responsive host! Getting to say hi to the very friendly dogs and kitten was a definite plus. Plenty of room to set up camp while still being a stone's throw away from the barn with a restroom & running water. All in all a tremendous experience!

7 nights at Comus Sky Farm

Juanita's horse farm has plenty of room for RV and tent campers. I enjoyed the quiet country feel, the animals (her sweet dogs, the ducks and geese and the neighbors horse), and the solitude of walking her trails surrounded by autumn trees. The camp hosts are absolutely fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and generous. They made me feel like family. The Comus Inn restaurant is a hidden jewel. There are lots of nearby areas to explore, breweries and wineries to sample, and the trails of Sugarloaf mountain are worth your time. I plan to return next year at this time.

Darlene's land was a perfect hip camp. Usually my dogs and I hit the hay at nightfall, but Darlene's camp has an electric pole with a light, a screened tent with a table and chair, and an extra electric plug (recharge phones) - it was private and serene - plus Darlene was a FANTASTIC communicator, who meets you there to show you how the compostable toilet works, where to get firewood, etc. - then leaves you your privacy. Only a small disclaimer for travelers with dogs, IF you have a reactive dog (as one of mine is) there is quite a bit of wildlife noise in the woods. Highly recommend this hipcamp.

My niece goes camping twice a year and I hijacked this fall trip. I selected Yates’ site because of the quiet and tranquil surrounding and we were not disappointed. Tucker, Yates’ cousin, met us at check-in with the sweetest dog. We found site 3 easily and setup went smoothly. Site 3 is shady and offers views of the Patuxent River and a nice swampy area below. Loved the sounds of birds, fox…night life. I wasn’t expecting all the Daddy Long Legs and various other spiders. Thank God my niece was there to save me, lol. We brought our own wood, but there was kindling/small branches at the site that we also took advantage of. We played it forward and left the same for the next camper. I would definitely stay here again, just not at Site 3. I think Site 1 is open without the abundance of trees and prayerfully less bugs.

8 nights at Comus Sky Farm

I had electricity and was able to easily fill my talk. The hosts (Josh and Katie) are VERY welcoming. Juanita is delightful and very accommodating. The geese and ducks are great reminders you are on a farm and the horse next door is very friendly. I saw a deer most evenings. It was quiet and comfortable. Will return soon and next year at this same time.
