(Check the moonrise/moonset tables to see if there is a visible moon during your intended stay - it really is an incredible sight).
We have an amazing outdoor shower, with hot and cold running water, overlooking the lake.
The extra large soaking bathtub is available for your use for $20 per stay if there are not other campers at the time due to us only having one bathroom available. Great for relaxing, bathing kids, or a very romantic evening.
Canoe, stand up paddle board and kayak available for your use at no charge.
You can paddle to nearby Gator Joe's which is an awesome spot on the lake for great food, drinks, and live music.

Many trees on the property makes it tricky for large vehicles to maneuver, therefor we have a limit of 25 feet including tow vehicle.
Dockside site has 15 amp hookup. We do have an adapter to connect to 30 amp hookup. It is closer to the house and bathroom than site 2 and has more shade and easy access to the dock.
Pontoon boat rentals are available down the road.
Being on the lake we do have mosquitos but they are mostly an issue at dusk and dawn for about an hour but we are out in nature so insect encounters of all kinds are to be expected.
If there is a nice breeze, which is often the case, you can enjoy the sunset from the rocker loveseat at the edge of our dock.
We also have citronella torches available for rent.
We also offer a large bundle of firewood for $10.
Campers MUST check in by 10 pm. We recommend arriving during daylight whenever possible.
It is important you understand that our property is not in the wilderness. We are NOT a commercial campground.
We have a couple of acres in a residential area and there are homes near the campsite. That being said, you will have complete privacy at your campsites as the two sites are on opposite ends of the property and you will not see me at all other than when you check in, unless you desire to do so.
Both campsites face the lake however, and you may see some fisherman out there from time to time, but I guarantee you will see much more wildlife than people.
Each site has its own fire pit.
Our guests love this place because of the lake, the incredible sunsets and moonsets over the lake, and all the incredible wildlife we have here, as you can see from the reviews.
Well behaved pets are welcome off leash as long as they are supervised and don't bother other campers. They are not allowed on the porches. Please pick up any mess that is in the path of foot traffic. There is a $20 pet fee per pet per stay. Add it under extras. Pet sitting is available for an additional charge.

We are 20 minutes from world famous Silver Springs, 20 minutes from Ocala Drive-In Movie Theater that usually shows great films for both kids and adults, and 20 minutes from the Santos Trailhead that offers world class biking and hiking paths.
Unfortunately, I cannot do anything about the people that come here that have not read the description, expecting a wilderness campground and choose to leave a negative review based on that but everyone that has read the description has loved it here and many return.

Hi, I'm Danielle. My Mom, JoAnn, founded Black Horse Ranch in 2017. "You're family here" is something she said all the time to people who came to stay, and it is truly at the heart of our ranch. The property is a beautiful campground nestled into a nook of the Ocala National Forest. We are surrounded on 3 sides by forest, and you can ride or hike straight from any of the many trailheads on property!
We offer 30 and 50amp sites, there is a bath house with full bathrooms and laundry, a Community Kitchen you are welcome to use, a screened in Pavilion for meals or hanging out, a POOL! (yes you read that right!) and a Clubhouse with couches, games and all! We have a few rentals (a cabin and RV) and we are working on getting more. We do have wifi on the property, and we also offer golf cart rentals.
If you have horses, you'll love coming to Black Horse. We are surrounded by countless trails through the forest with the trail heads sitting right on property, two barns for horses, many outdoor stalls and paddocks, wash racks, and an extra large riding arena.
There is world class fishing nearby at the St. John's River and we are right near many beautiful springs - which, if you have never spent time in a natural spring you will absolutely want to check that out! Kayaking, tubing, swimming galore in crystal clear waters. We are a 20 minute drive from the Villages which offers shopping, dining, and activities, as well as 20 minutes to historic Mount Dora which is a beautiful artsy downtown village. We are 1 hour from Daytona & New Smyrna, 1 hour from Orlando (Disney anyone?).

The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

the campground is under an ancient canopy of oaks. so youll always have shade. the center of the property is unique to say the least but the campground is nature at its finest.
there is a 2.6 mile nature trail across from the campground to explore.
also there is a boat ramp for fishing about 1/8 mile away. you are welcome to roam over most of the 80 acres. We have goats, cows and chickens as well. All super friendly.

Amazing pond area in rural Groveland located in State Road 33. There’s a lot of wild life (deer, hogs, turkeys, cranes, raccoons, coyotes) in the area that can easily be spotted during the night. Around 2 clean acres , where you can park your car (if you don’t want to enter the woods with it). You can find bass and catfish in the pond. Fishing is allowed! Hunt is not allowed.

We arrived at Misty Morning Acres (MMA) in the pouring rain (much needed but not right then) and Louise and Michelle greeted us with smiles. They guided us right to our spot next to the pavilion. The location is close to everything you could need. We attended a concert at Savannah Center and MMA was a great option so we could stay in our camper and bring our pup. We won’t hesitate to stay at MMA if we find ourselves in that part of the state.

This piece of land is well loved and cared for by pure hearted stewards. Do yourself a favor and stay here! There is nothing like a piece of nature that is being well loved and just wants to love you back. The camper was a perfect nights sleep! I usually sleep restlessly in a new place. But here is slept soundly with only one small waking event. Between the bathroom, shower and kitchen setup they have everything I need to take of myself. I looming forward to returning!

This spot is a little slice of heaven for those who dream of a view of pastures and horses. I would love to one day own a few acres and horse. Spotted Dance gives you a chance to observe from a distance , or if you are curious enough to inquire, John might give you an oppotunity to experiece owning these majestic animals. I got a chace to participate infeeding horses, cleaning stalls, and getting close to these beautiful creatures. Highly recommend!

I just want to share some photos of this amazing campsite. From the moment you drive in you know you’re in a special place. Our hosts were awesome and we plan to come back again. The horses visited the first morning and were so sweet. They have thought of everything to make your stay amazing from clean tent site to spotless bathroom and showers. Wow and we were also treated with seeing day old baby goats. If you get the chance to visit it’s a MUST.

My 3rd trip here and somehow every trip is even better than the last. This trip included goats being born the day after the farm tour and a special trip to love up to the newborn kids. I will be coming back annually and enjoying not only the AMAZING hospitality, but also the wonderfully spacious sites and impeccably clean facilities.

From Springhill to Beverly Hills, I could not find a better set up for me for spending a night. The kitchen bathroom set up with showers was excellent and easy to use. They even had a nice platform to keep my feet off the shower floor. I really appreciated that. With Bushnell only 9 miles away. There is easy access to Aldi's for groceries. A hardware store if you need it an easy access to and from 75 for those of you who are energetically sensitive this is one of the nicest feeling places I could find between Springhill and Beverly Hills the cost the amenities and the feeling and the quality of the hosts definitely had me feel like I wanted to contribute and left a little surprise for their kitchen for the people that follow behind me.

We had the BEST time at Lucky U Ranch! From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a peaceful little escape. The property is absolutely beautiful—huge trees, open space, and nature everywhere you look.
What really made it special was how interactive and relaxed everything is. The horses, donkeys, goats, and even a pig were just wandering around, which made the whole experience feel so natural and fun. Being able to get up close, feed them, and just enjoy their presence was something you don’t get everywhere.
Our camp hosts, Rob and Mike, were amazing—super friendly, welcoming, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals and the guests.

We have stayed in Lucky U Ranch twice already and looking forward to come back soon! Mike and Rob are extremely kind and attentive. The ranch offer great resources including wifi, hot water and microwave!! I call that glamping. The tour to the farm and the opportunity to pet all the friendly animals its amazing. I absolutely loved this campsite, and I wish there were more sites right on the river just like this one.
For starters, it is a very easy, scenic float down from the Spruce boat ramp. I traveled by kayak and loved that it had its own little cove next to the site that made for perfect boat parking.
Just as described, it had a nice fire pit, a charcoal grill, a picnic table and 4 benches. There was also a cable for a dog run, and about 3-4 solar-powered motion lights installed around the perimeter of the campsite.
It is located near an elbow in the river with gives the view a nice panoramic feel. It is high enough off the water and has enough cypress knobs around it that I wasn’t concerned about alligators coming up near the camp. And, it was covered with a nice, mature tree canopy providing shade over the entire area.
I had plans to roll out early the next day, but it was such a nice and peaceful spot, I ended up just hanging out there most to the next day.

8 ft pop-up camper
The Tangerine Hidaway Hipcamp Florida is an amazing Hipcamp!
It has very good energy, and it's an actual campground in the woods, rather than just someone's backyard. These are new facilities with ongoing new development, and it has an outdoor shower (rainfall showerhead in cobblestones) that is no less than amazing, and the bathroom is very nice and always clean as well. The campsite are fairly private and generally quiet.
They have decent cell service for Verizon, I get three bars all the way on the back side of the camp.
I truly believe this is the best Hipcamp in all of Florida, and you need to visit this one! The camp hosts are amazing, extremely accommodating, and kind.
I flew my sons into Orlando so we could all watch the Artemis II launch together. My oldest son is a musician, but was unable to bring his guitar and tiny amp onto the flight, so he had to leave it at home.

This was amazingly cool! Weeks after my sons flew home, my son is still amazed that Sam would've done that for him, and will not stop talking about it.

My wife and I recently stayed 2 nights at Lucky U Ranch and loved it! The property was beautiful, had well-spaced-out sites, warm showers and a ton of little things that show the hosts really care about everyone having a great experience there. We really enjoyed the farm tour as well, very cool place. We will be back again I'm sure the next time we're in the area.
