This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there.
Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!

The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

Aframe Cabin Tent nestled in a 4 acre olive orchard. We are a working farm and harvest and mill our olives into high quality, extra virgin olive oil. The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

Great campsite, not too remote, and great privacy. Bathroom is maintained and restocked with paper and soap. Our campsite had plenty of room and felt safe. No wild animals were nearby, and campsite had its own trash. Despite an ongoing burn ban, we were still able and allowed to grill.

I loved it there! So quiet and peaceful. The camp ground is nostalgic and small. The bathroom and shower could use some help (to be honest), but the running water by the cabin seems to be well-water, cold, and very fresh. A quick well-water shower behind the cabin was refreshing and lovely. Centrally located to lots of area hiking and things to do. Historic Brooksville was adorable and I highly recommend having brunch at the Lazy Maid Creperie, voted #1 restaurant in Brooksville. I would definitely come back to this camp ground and utilize the cabin again. I also liked the primitive camp sites and only a short walk from parking. My entire experience was two thumbs up.

Second time staying here.
I had plans to stay at another state campsite, but three gate code was not working. Luckily, on a moment notice, Smokey Acres was available.
The campsite was clean, quiet, beautiful. Bathroom facilities were decent. Site was level. Slight noise from traffic. No complaints. Its an easy weekend get away.
My wife was able to set up her telescope for some night photography and I got plenty of reading time.
I'm pretty sure a 3rd stay will happen in the next few months.

What an amazing place Rob and Mike created to share with those looking for great camping! Spent New Years at Lucky U Ranch, and it was fantastic! The sites are huge and far apart. Facilities are very well kept. Got some unexpected guests when the horses and mules decided to say hi. You will not find any better hosts, very attentive… met me at the gate and took me to the site, shared about the site and hiking trails on property as well as checked in daily and provided more firewood when I ran out. Happy to have found another place to add to my “visit again” list!

We enjoyed the beauty and peace and spaciousness of the sites. The bathroom/shower were a bit more of an adventure than we were expecting. Bring your own toilet paper and beware that flushing the toilet will shut off the shower! Otherwise we enjoyed this unique place!

This place is special. We’ve been twice & can’t wait to go back. With our 6 & 7 year old sons, it’s great to get out of the city and really feel like you’re in the country. With all the animals walking throughout the day, (especially morning, horses) it really makes the area feel magical. Great bathrooms with hot showers is a plus! Can’t say more about this place, words can’t describe it!
