The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

This is the beautiful wild coast of Florida's "Big Bend." Located halfway between Perry to the north and Steinhatchee to the south, Keaton Beach is an outpost town with a laidback, relaxing atmosphere. No motels, no fast food. The wild, natural public beach has a shaded picnic area, restrooms, a boat ramp and a 700-foot fishing pier. These are prime scalloping waters from mid to late summer, and the area is famous for year-round fishing. We recently bought this property with an old hunting cabin owned by a well known baseball coach. The cabin is currently transformed into a residence. We have 4 RV spots available in the front of the property.. Only an 8 minute drive to the sandy swimming beach of Keaton Beach (see pic above) or 20 min walking distance to Adams Sunset Beach. We had a wonderful stay at this campsite. We were running a bit late, but the host was waiting for us with a smile and made us feel welcome right away. He helped us get settled and even checked back about 30 minutes later to make sure we had everything we needed. The campsite itself was beautifully manicured and thoughtfully decorated for the holiday, which added a really nice touch. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful, and being away from the city lights made the night sky absolutely stunning—the stars were unbelievably bright. Absolutely obsessed with this place! Our stay was very peaceful and easy, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. We loved the setup of the property, it felt very comfortable and open yet still private and serene. There was a few bees at some point so just make sure you bring bee repellent but other than that Allie was a great host and provided us with ample firewood. The pond wasn’t full during our stay unfortunately but the trees/nature still provided beautiful views. We will definitely be back 😍

We only stayed overnight at Kim’s property but it was a nice private campsite on the river with a firepit and picnic table. It’s far away from city lights so you get to see the stars! A perfect place if you want to enjoy a peaceful time outdoors. It was easily accessible with our 20ft camper van. Might not be ideal for bigger rigs but perfect for vans, smaller trailers, or tent campers. We’ll definitely come back if we are in the area again.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Wooded Campsite 🏕️

Charming and rustic little campsite. Perfect for a tiny group and a few dogs, like how we did. Even though the weather was a bit cloudy and rainy, we still had a great time just enjoying the surrounding nature and walking trails, as well as utilizing the (thoughtfully) pre-chopped firewood to keep warm in the wind. Very private with no disturbances whatsoever. I will say that we could not get the hose (potable water) to work (thankfully brought our own water), but this could have 100% been user error, or just a simple coincidence for us. We still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Would definitely recommend this, very affordable, little secluded getaway. Would love to go back if given the opportunity! Might have to bring a hammock next time to put up between the gorgeous trees they have!

Parking is only available at the bottom of the driveway for tent campers. All tent sites are less than a 5 minute hike up the trails. There is plenty of firewood available after 3 hurricanes in a year's time. The Bird Ranch is 4 acres of peaceful nature. We have 3 pioneer sites (2 with fire pits), and one RV hook-up (30 Amp power and water) to choose from. We never really know what wildlife is wondering around or when they might pop up. Rest assure though; there are always birds singing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, owls hooting, and we can even hear the neighboring pigs, chickens, cows, goats and dogs from time to time. I will take all that over city noise any day of the week! The Gofer Turtles are protected wildlife here, but please do not disturb ANY of the animals or their homes. We have had kids destroy a turtle's home before, so please be mindful. The property has trails, an open field for games, and plenty of day outings to do. There are 2 natural springs (Royal Springs and Little River Springs) off the Suwannee River that are each a 10-minute drive. Branford Springs and Troy Springs are within 20 minutes. You can float down the Ichetucknee River on an innertube (seasonal), catch a local rodeo just down Hwy 129 or take a 3 hour round trip bike ride on the Suwannee River Greenway. The Mystic Jungle Educational Facility is a quick 15 minutes up Hwy 129 towards Live Oak, where you can learn about their wild animals on a guided tour, but they are only open on Saturdays. Cedar Key is a quiet little town 1.5 hours away with cute shops and restaurants for a nice day trip ***(also very messed up from hurricanes last year, so no promises)***. They roll up the streets after sunset; but what a beautiful sunset! There are also a few horseback riding ranches within 20 minutes from the property and if you're really adventurous and want to ride a camel; Lonesome Chicken Camel Ranch is less than an hour away. Call ahead to make sure they are open. Please be courteous of your fellow campers and my neighbors, by adhering to a 10 pm noise maintenance.

This is a private/ quiet site, away from the hustle and bustle. Take some time to enjoy the salt air along with picturesque sunsets. Launch a kayak or paddleboard. Keaton Beach is 1 mile away and Adams beach is about 4 miles north. Walter "B's" store on Beach Rd. has a small restaurant inside. Bike riding from the trail head at Keaton Beach boat ramp is a good way to get in some exercise and enjoy the natural Florida. Steinhatchee is 19 miles south of your location. Beach bums store is .5 miles from our site. Although hit by the hurricane last year, they are in the rebuild stage but still have all your essentials you may need, food truck, bait, fishing supplies, beer, ice, and many other essentials you may need to make your stay enjoyable. The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.
