RV camping in Colorado

Colorado has long been a favorite destination for lovers of the great outdoors, offering easy access to rafting opportunities on the Colorado River, plus miles of mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking trails, and hot springs. Colorado is also home to some of the nation’s top ski destinations, such as Steamboat Springs and Aspen, plus major nature areas including the Garden of the Gods, Great Sand Dunes National Park, and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. With so much to offer, it’s easy to want to spend weeks or even months exploring in an RV rig or camper. You’ll find no shortage of RV resorts and RV parks to choose from, many open year-round with fantastic mountain views, especially around the base camp cities of Denver and Colorado Springs near Pikes Peak. Some RV campgrounds have campsites with full hookups and dump stations, plus restrooms, picnic tables, laundry facilities, and wifi—and some Colorado RV parks even have swimming pools. RVers who plan in advance, take note: All Colorado state park and Rocky Mountain National Park RV sites can be reserved in advance, as can many of the sites in the state’s national forests.
