This property has been in my family since 1900. It is still a working farm/ranch but we are looking to let a select few others enjoy our property. My grandfather built the lake with a d9 cat bulldozer in the 50's and we are just completing a sediment clean out and refurbishment of the lake. All of the trees were planted by my great grandfather and they afford lots of wildlife cover; wild turkeys, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. The area we selected for camping is in a bowl so you have good privacy. The lake is stocked for fishing and because its private, no license is needed. The fishing hole and swimming hole are separate from the main lake and offer cheaper accommodations. We limit ourselves to 2 campsites to the 100 acres, so there is plenty of privacy. There is some road noise and smell from the local dairy that is about 1/2 mile away if the wind is right. Simple private camp spot - there is a swimming/fishing hole with dock and ladder. There is a year round creek and some small islands that can be explored. Fire pit, portapotty and propane grill are available. Potable water and sewage dump is available at main residence but not at camp site. This is designed to be a family friendly area that's great for younger kids. Area is also a pasture so cows and cow patties could be encountered and wild deer and turkey are around. If you have a larger family than 4 remember hipcamps policy is that younger children do not count towards the limit.

These cabins are very different in their own ways, they run on solar, but we do have a back up generator for emergency use! All our cabins have electricity! This property has been in my family since 1900. It is still a working farm/ranch but we are looking to let a select few others enjoy our property. My grandfather built the lake with a d9 cat bulldozer in the 50's and we are just completing a sediment clean out and refurbishment of the lake. All of the trees were planted by my great grandfather and they afford lots of wildlife cover; wild turkeys, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. The area we selected for camping is in a bowl so you have good privacy. The lake is stocked for fishing and because its private, no license is needed. The fishing hole and swimming hole are separate from the main lake and offer cheaper accommodations. We limit ourselves to 2 campsites to the 100 acres, so there is plenty of privacy. There is some road noise and smell from the local dairy that is about 1/2 mile away if the wind is right. Simple private camp spot - there is a swimming/fishing hole with dock and ladder. There is a year round creek and some small islands that can be explored. Fire pit, portapotty and propane grill are available. Potable water and sewage dump is available at main residence but not at camp site. This is designed to be a family friendly area that's great for younger kids. Area is also a pasture so cows and cow patties could be encountered and wild deer and turkey are around. If you have a larger family than 4 remember hipcamps policy is that younger children do not count towards the limit.

We enjoyed ZenZen Gardens so much that we stayed two extra nights! Lovely garden and spectacular scenery. We enjoyed sipping wine from the terrace in the afternoons. Comfy and very clean. We definitely hope to return!

There are 3 Tipis in The Views area, this is the biggest, The Raven.

The property was extremely beautiful and Shannon was very kind, friendly and accommodating. The wagon was charming and the decor was very inviting. It is a remote space and you feel so small being surrounded by the mountains. Love this open, vast area that holds a space for people to be in nature safely. The kitchen is well stocked with goodies. Everything is a quick stroll away from the teepee. The bathroom has adorable art and quotes on the wall to brighten the space up. Our teepee was warm, spacious and cozy! It rained over night and listening to the rain hit the teepee was calming. Wish we were here for two nights, but we had a quick over night stay. Love this spot and would totally come back.

2 nights at Durango RV Resort

I stayed in the basic cabin (ie, the fancy shed). It was perfect, one queen bed, two twin bunks, ac, heat, ceiling fan and a light. The sites are a little close together but I was not spending the summer so not a big deal, I was there to sleep after spending the day at mesa verde. The grounds and restroom/shower was very neat and clean. I would definitely stay again. There is definitely road noise but as you can see from the posting, they are next to a major road. It was not a big deal in the cabin as I had windows closed as the temps were pretty cool.

Good distance to/from Salida, while also feeling “off the grid”. Great views of the surrounding peaks. Suggest bringing warm layers for the cooler evenings and a warm comforter. Our dog prefers sleeping in his crate and the tent is big enough to setup in the corner. Recommend checking it out. Thank you!

10/10 would recommend. We had a wonderful time staying here! It’s so beautiful and peaceful. It’s in a residential neighborhood, but you’d never think it. The cabin is in its own area with an herb / flower garden and we loved hammocking. Beth was very kind and made sure we were well taken care of during our stay and answered any questions we had.

What a great place to stay! Clean, pretty orchards, and with the basic amenities. Dirk even added a small microwave so I could heat my tea and breakfast in the morning. Comfy bed and the outdoor shower is cool. I didn't use it because it was such a short stay, but how fun!

As the same with last time we went, the owners were incredibly kind and generous! It was my my brother's girlfriend's first time and they stayed at the camper they have on property. Brian went and set up the camper the morning before and it worked very well! And the fishing was great! Also, if you buy the farm fresh veggies, they give you plenty for you and your party! Very tasty veggies too! Highly recommend their campground!

This place is absolutely stunning! I have never seen so many stars before and the campsites are spaced out far enough it felt liek a private retreat. They have restrooms, showers, and a community kitchen with every cooking utensil you may need. The restrooms were so clean and the camp manager was so kind!

We enjoyed our stay. The Raven tipi was comfortable and spacious for three of us + gear. And to have the kitchen to use was fantastic! And the freezer & ice maker made our water situation for desert hiking so easy. Bathrooms were super clean. Shower building was good too. Rustic, and walled in, but open to the air. Chatting with folks from all parts of the US was a nice bonus too. And our second morning there, we were greeted by a raven perched on top of the tipi. Highly recommend. And if you walk the trails to the bathrooms at night using a headlamp, see if you can spot the sparkles on the ground.
