Vail may be best known as a ski resort town, but it offers year-round adventures for outdoor lovers. Look for wildflowers in the spring and colorful foliage in the fall. In the summer, numerous hiking trails near town lead to waterfalls, alpine lakes, and sweeping views, with plenty more in the nearby White River National Forest. Bag a 14er in the Tenmile, Mosquito, and Swatch ranges. Go fishing in nearby rivers and streams or get out on the water at Sylvan Lake State Park or Dillon. Once the snow falls, the front side and back bowls of Vail offer plenty of downhill fun. For even more terrain, head to Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, or Aspen. Welcome to Camp Wilder! We are an off-the-beaten-path camp offering peace and solitude. The cabin is very special to my family and me. It was passed down as a mining claim from my grandmother who founded it in the '60s. The vision for the land was simply perfect. A small 10 x 10 cabin with the whole mountain to explore and whoever they wished to bring with them. The town of Nederland is 10 minutes down the road where you can fish at Baker Reservoir. Lots of fun little stores in town to keep the family busy. Wildlife is everywhere up by the cabin/campsite, always remember don't leave food lying around with lots of great things to look for around the magical town of Nederland. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

Sorry but our zoning does not allow for any camping of any sort on our property. Come experience the Old West as it was and still is as you meander along the road through working ranches that were homesteaded back in the early 1900’s...their weathered log cabins still standing and often still occupied...others are close enough for a great “back in time” photo opportunity. As Colorado's open range law permits ranchers to graze their cattle without borders, you will often find them on the roadways or you may even get caught up in a cattle drive as the ranchers move their cattle from one pasture or paddock to another. Springtime brings all the calves and branding time! Observing the rancher, his horse, and dog working together is a genuine treat. Look along the roadside for sage grouse, in the open fields for pronghorn, down in the willows and streams for the bull moose, in the trees for the mule deer, and on top of the ridge lines for the elk. There are also bald eagle and osprey nests, alpacas, horses, sheep, and goats. All this just on the ride into Williams Fork Lodging! Our residence sits above this scenic panorama at the end of the road and adjacent to public lands tucked beneath Copper Peak on the Williams Fork Range. The elevation is roughly 8,500 feet and the 180 degree view is breathtaking...encompassing three mountain ranges, many peaks, pastures/meadows, forest, and ponds. Soak in everything from the glorious sunrises to enchanting full moons to brilliant stars that truly seem closer than they are…the view of the Milky Way is unobstructed by light pollution for outstanding celestial shows…and meteor showers are spectacular from the hot tub! We live on the same property as the Lodge and are quite self sustainable: hunting, fishing, gardening, gathering wild berries, and raising our own poultry meat. The cabin sleeps up to 8 with the futon downstairs being very comfortable and 3" foam upstairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are lanterns inside to light up your night with a wood stove to keep you warm at night. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The grocery store is in Nederland where you can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles, gallon jugs of water and wood. There is a 3 burner Coleman, stove to cook on with limited pots & pans as well as silverware. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a slight dip, if you have a low-clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. Recommend vehicles with AWD. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles. Park on the left. Hike down to the cabin between yellow stakes. We are @ 10,000 feet and it is a slight hike to the cabin. Go 3.4 miles up Caribou road. Turn right @ yellow stakes go .4 miles When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put the key in the lock box and mix the code for the next camper.

Currently the fishing hut has potable water, electricity, TV, DVD player, remote controlled ceiling fan, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot plate, basic kitchen essentials, and a futon with bedding to get a good nights sleep. *More Amenities To Come* For heating and cooling there is a light/fan in the center of the hut and we provide a space heater for when the nights get cold. Just a few steps outside of the hut is a beautiful (one of a kind) outhouse with lights, power outlets, and a heat lamp if need be. A little ways down from the hut you will find a table with antique wagon wheels and seating for enjoying a meal or just taking in the views . The property is .57 acres in an L shape. It has many trees consisting of spruce, ponderosa, and aspens. The plot sits right at 9000 feet above sea level. There are great Mountain View’s and lots of Quiet. There is unlimited national forest access just a 2 min walk from the property, 3 private fishing ponds, and a very large and versatile shooting range nearby.

We had a lovely (but challenging, carrying a toddler) hike up and stay at Cabin #2. The cabin was quaint, clean and more well-appointed than expected (I guess we didn't need to pack a hatchet?). It was hovering around freezing when we arrived, but we got the stove lit and got the space up into the 50s for a comfortable night. Sunrise was lovely from bed and we finished our trip with a hike up to the lake in the morning before descending to the car.

We had an awesome time at the Laughing Valley Ranch! Bill showed us around and we loved looking at the animals, he’s a very knowledgeable and kind man. The campsite was an a gorgeous outlook that made for fantastic views. We are birders, so loved all of the cool birds around. Joe also made our stay super easy and comfortable! He gave us rides to the site, made sure we had wood and water, and showed us some cool spots around the land. Big shoutout to Joe! Overall we really enjoyed our time here, great place to get away and take in the mountain view’s for a couple of days, while not being super far from Denver and the cute town of Idaho Springs. Recommend this spot for any hiking, camping, or overall nature lovers.

The wood burning stove was so amazing and kept the house so warm! There was even firewood available!!! 😇I brought my own but it was awesome there was some extra! Me and my girlfriend cooked some delicious meals in the adorable, spacious, and well stocked kitchen! It was the most amazing birthday getaway and my girlfriend was so pleased as well! I had a nice stay with my dog at the end of September. The view is as nice as everyone says. The site is big with an outdoor fire pit, but i didn't use. You are at 11k feet and will feel it hiking and chopping wood for kindling. That was fun with a heavy axe. The portable toilet is interesting. still not sure how I feel about it. Temps were down to 35 night but was fine inside with the wood stove. The road up is pretty rough, but I made it fine in a Tesla 3. Just go slow.

The views from the spot were fantastic, and I was really impressed with how attentive and proactive the host was - from texting and driving us up to being there again when we left. It’s rare to have a host physically present both on arrival and departure, and it made the stay feel extra cared for. The tent is in good repair and tall enough to stand in comfortably and we appreciated many of the extras like woodstove and drinking water. My daughter especially loved seeing the animals and getting to take a donkey ride, which was a highlight of the trip.

The space The house is located on an acre of land in Black Hawk, CO which is about an hour outside of Denver just past the Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The surrounding area has amazing Mountain Views and you can drive to the town of Black Hawk for dinner/Casinos in about 20 minutes (depending on the weather), to Rollinsville in about 20 minutes in the other direction, or to El Dora in about 30 minutes. Given that it takes about 20 minutes to get to any neighboring small town, note that the house location is remote. It is located in a residential neighborhood where most houses are on an acre of land. Because of that, sound travels very easily so while it is usually quiet, you can easily hear dogs barking or music. Guests love that this space is PRIVATE on an entire acre of land without any street noise. Enjoy this beautiful home without worrying about where or when you have to be somewhere. Black Hawk - have your own private space and hot tub & escape some of the madness of staying at the casinos by opting to stay at Little Gem Lodge! Small Towns (Rollinsville, Nederland, Black Hawk, Wondervu, Idaho Springs) - there are lots of cute local restaurants and breweries in each of these towns. Hiking + Cross Country Ski/Rec Areas - You have close access to Golden Gate Canyon State Park, St Mary's Glacier, Rocky Mountain National Park (~1-1.5 hours), 14ers. It's an awesome outdoor enthusiast location in any season because of its proximity to the mountains and state parks. You will have access to the entire house. It’s two stories with two bedrooms and a bathroom on the main level and one bedroom/one bathroom on the second level. Other things to note Dirt roads lead to the property that require at a minimum an AWD or 4x4 vehicle. Pet fee must be added under "Extras".
