This private alpine meadow sits at approximately 11,000 feet, at the base of two 14,000-foot peaks, on 160 secluded acres bordering National Forest. The camp rests in a hidden sunken meadow surrounded by ancient forest, alpine streams, and some of the oldest living bristlecone pines in the world — trees so remarkable they have appeared in Ansel Adams photography.
At night, you may hear great horned owls in the trees, coyotes calling at sunset, and sometimes moose moving quietly through the meadow. During the day, the air smells of pine, summer grass, and cold mountain water. Sit beside the stream with your feet on warm granite while the wind moves through 3,000-year-old trees overhead. It is peaceful, wild, and difficult to describe until you are here.
The site is built for guests who want to disconnect from crowds and reconnect with nature without giving up comfort. Tucked into the meadow is a cozy insulated A-frame shelter with large windows, a skylight, soft solar lighting for nighttime ambiance, a locking door, and a full-size bed. It is simple, warm, secure, and comfortable — a perfect basecamp after exploring the high country.
From the property, you have access to miles of 4x4 roads, ATV trails, hiking routes, wildlife viewing, photography, stargazing, and quiet time by the stream. Spend the day hiking alpine ridges, exploring the forest, reading on the deck, or doing nothing at all.
Amenities include a wood deck, waterproof awning, picnic table, BBQ grill, bear box, oversized stone fire pit, and simple backcountry-style toilet setup.
Altitude note: this camp is around 11,000 feet, so guests should be prepared for high-elevation conditions, cooler nights, stronger sun, and changing mountain weather.

Oh and quite possibly our rooster crowing ;) Hike into the National Forest off the property. Guided hikes can also be arranged for an additional fee. Or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet!
Plenty of other hiking trails nearby, creeks and Slaughterhouse Gulch for those that love a good 4WD adventure.
A propane fire-pit will be provided for you so you can still enjoy a nice campfire. A propane heater is also available for chilly nights or winter camping. The Greenhouse also includes a camp stove, a percolator for making coffee or tea, minimal cookware and silverware. Potable water will be provided along with coffee and tea. Fresh eggs from our chickens can also be made available upon request for a small fee.
Cots and a hammock are available for use in the Greenhouse, but you will have to bring your own sleeping mats, sleeping bags and pillows. Sleeping mats and sleeping bags on the floor are also an option if you choose. Picnic tables are close to the Greenhouse for enjoying time outdoors.
The Glamping in the Aspens Tent has a wood burning stove in it that will be available starting later season 2024. Firewood for the wood stove will be provided for you. Just outside the tent is a picnic table with BBQ grill and propane fire pit. There is a porch area with outdoor kitchen and a queen sized bed inside the tent. A comfy dog bed is also included.
A composting toilet is available for use. No showers currently available (Bath House coming soon).
Well behaved dogs are allowed, however, they must be on a leash or under voice command.
There are 2 dogs that live on the property as well as chickens, turkeys, and a cat. All will be contained so as not to disturb (except for the occasional rooster crow).

Agata was an extremely great communicator. The stay and check in was flawless. The property is peaceful and beautiful. This was a much needed getaway from the summer heat. Tim has created something really special here. His land is surrounded by beautiful forest in a quiet, tucked-away area. Tim has conceptualized and built each campsite by hand, with level tent pads on wood chips he’s chipped himself. We stayed in one of his glamping sites. Comfortable and cozy. And Tim provided water, a cooler, ice packs, chairs, a propane fire pit, a camp stove, utensils and cleaning supplies, and more. He couldn’t have been more hospitable and made our trip easy. He’s also highly knowledgeable of hiking options in the area. If considering staying here, I would only note that you will have to walk uphill to get to your site, but if you’re capable it is absolutely worth it! Tim also has wagons that make it easier to get your supplies to the site. Thank you, Tim, for an incredible stay. We can’t wait to return!

Ginger’s place was excellent and even better than the pictures showed! The views were incredible and the inside was bigger than expected. I loved the outdoor shower. The bathroom situation is unique- I’ve never used a dry toilet before. The stars at night were super bright. Definitely recommend screenshotting her instructions on how to get to the property once you lose cell service but the instructions are very accurate. I purchased one of the hand made cards to send home which was a nice touch. The location is really close to Basalt but you feel like you’re the only one on the mountain. We used it as home base to go between Aspen and Carbondale. Would love to visit again.

My family adored the Aspen Yurt. We had to change camping plans last minute due to an injury, and once we found this location, we were sold. Our vacation was not canceled, just happily adapted. Aspen Yurt was everything we wanted, and it was so beautiful. Roomy enough for a grown family of 4. The outdoor freshwater tub was a hit, along with the beautiful outdoor shower. Great memories were made.

My family and I recently spent 2 nights at the Riverfront Mountain Ranch: it was a highlight of our trip to Colorado and we’d wished our stay was longer. Leslie gave us such a warm welcome it really set the tone for the experience. But it was the attention to detail we appreciated the most: the delicious made-to-order breakfast, the game tent packed with fun stuff, the spacious fire pit and ever-restocking s’mores-station… we just really appreciated the effort that Leslie puts into this place. Great vibes and met some really nice folk around the fire at night. Not to mention the incredible views of the mountains and short stroll down the swim in the Arkansas River, it made for such a relaxing stay. Buena Vista is a short drive away but we also dug visiting Salida which is about 30 mins away. Lastly we stayed in one of the spacious yurts which had cool furniture, panels to see the stars and was top notch when one of the nights was windy. We can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful scenery and comfy cabin! The wildlife watching is unreal… especially the moose that hung around the hills behind the cabin. The cabin is cozy and very secluded. Even off grid has many supplies and comfort features for a relaxing stay. And with so many windows you can fall asleep watching the stars.

We had a wonderful stay at Tim's glamping site! Tim was a great host; he shared helpful local recommendations and made everything easy from start to finish. The site was peaceful, quiet, easy to find, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed.
The location is ideal, with easy access to Alma, Breckenridge, and beautiful hikes. We hiked Wheeler Lake and highly recommend it.
Be sure to bring bug spray and be prepared for a short uphill walk to the campsite.
We had a fantastic experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

This cabin was perfect for our weekend getaway! The view is unparalleled and it's far enough away from other structures that it felt so secluded. It had enough amenities to make the stay really comfortable and was close to Staunton State Park for hiking and Conifer for groceries. We're already talking about coming back!

4 nights at Basalt Mountain Homestead
Beautiful yurt with a great porch and great view! The solar setup worked perfectly for running the small mini fridge and charging devices. Kitchen was well-appointed, bed was comfortable. Highly recommended!

2 nights at Placer Club
This is an awesome place within the mountain peaks at almost 14000 ft. Tim is super cool and has done a ton of work all by himself. He’s not done yet but this place is super cool. Put a lot of thought into it. Seems pretty into Nichè. Seems pretty Type A. Make sure you vacuum and pick up after yourself because all those tools are at your expense. He makes sure you have everything you need and is very accommodating and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Had a great time here and would definitely come back. Be good people :)

Weekend Trip to Sanctuary in the Sky
We had a good stay at this unique location. It was very windy when we arrived but the view was wonderful. There are windows all around, and a skylight. I didn't think to look at the stars, though. We went to a concert at Red Rocks so didn't spend as much time enjoying the location as we otherwise might have. It was nice to get to meet the special needs cats that LuAnn and Chris graciously take care of. I wish them all the best!

Group trip
Awesome spot in an aspen grove on a ranch near Buena Vista. Belinda and Todd were welcoming and helpful. Short walk to the river, and we enjoyed the cows close by. Bathrooms and the shower were clean!
