This was a great location to camp - so close to Red Rocks! We would absolutely stay here again. Sabin and Randy were excellent hosts.

Rob and Beth were excellent hosts. Ronda treated us well. It was the perfect spot close to a lot of points of interest. It was the perfect spot where you felt secluded enough while still being in close proximity to the city. If you’re into unique quirky stays and roughing it a bit, this is the perfect option. It also feels great to be supporting individuals like Beth and Rob who play a role in the community like they do with their sustainable farming practices.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10 out of 10) My daughter and I recently enjoyed a truly magical mountain getaway at Blue Bear Retreat, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the absolutely stunning views that surrounded us. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for our stay. The tiny home was equipped with all the nice little touches that made our experience even more enjoyable. The outdoor bathroom was immaculate, which was a big plus, and I appreciated the attention to detail throughout the cabin. One of the unexpected highlights was the Starlink Wi-Fi, allowing us to stay connected while still enjoying the serene mountain atmosphere. The cabin was cozy and warm, thanks to the adorable mini woodstove. The outdoor wood stove added a charming ambiance to our evening. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had a restful night after our day of adventure and hiking. Overall, we had the best time at Blue Bear Retreat. It’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. We are already planning our next visit! If you’re considering a stay here, I highly recommend it—10 out of 10!

We really liked the Riverside Cabins. The staff did a good job of making sure we were settled in and had what we needed. The cabin was clean, modern and well equipped. The outside area was beautiful, especially the fire areas alongside the creek. We hope to go again.

This is not only a beautiful and amazing location but it’s hosted by beautiful and amazing humans as well! Great spot to be out in nature and away from the hustle and bustle BUT close enough to major highways to get into town easily if needed.

Great little cabin that our girls loved. Lots of thought went into this place. Good views, lots of privacy, super quiet. Never met Cesar personally but he was very responsive and welcoming. We weren’t able to enjoy the outdoor stove due to high wind, but can’t blame anyone for that except nature. We would definitely come back for another quick getaway.

Really sweet camper in a really nice setting. Everything I needed for an overnite stay. Was able to heat up some food, make coffee, read at the table and in the bed. Comfortable inside and out with chairs in a couple of locations on the creek, very peaceful and relaxing! Beth and her partner were very friendly, helpful, and inviting. As stated in the summary, the location is convenient to local retail and health centers which met my needs...though do allow extra time in the morning for morning traffic!

Patrick and Brooke were great hosts! We stayed in one of the RV spots and it was such a cute area, our dog and cat could roam around the property which is fenced and they loved that. We felt so welcomed and would 100% stay again :)

We loved A Lodge - the jacuzzi was so nice on a cold night and I loved looking out at the creek from the tub. The sauna has a clear glass as well that makes it so beautiful to look at the creek. The bathrooms were very clean, with hot water and the lodge was beautiful! We are big fans and will definitely come back to stay again. 🦋🌈😇

A very well maintained site that's close to town in case you need supplies but also feels further away so you have privacy. Really enjoyed this site and all the amenities included, having a fire at night is always a good time and the solar lights they put up around the site are a nice touch. Makes getting up at night and traversing the site alot easier. Overall a great experience.

Weekend Trip to Boulder Chicken Ranch

We had a great time at the Journey tent and would come back! It was our first camping experience with a baby but it was still quite comfortable. The stove inside the tent made all the difference, and the bed was pretty comfortable. There were others camping around but although they were close, we couldn't hear them. We opted for coffee in the morning and picked eggs from the coop. There was no shade around, maybe on a different season the trees around do provide some, but not in April. Patrick was super kind and quick to reply. If you want to go on a trail you need to drive there. There are little farms around and it’s close to anything you would need so that’s convenient! Overall it was a pretty cool experience!

Patrick was a wonderful host. When we arrived, one other camper was there, but since there wasn't an RV reservation the first night, we were able to move over to the RV site for more privacy. The bathroom was spotless and lit in the evening. The solar lights he had were beautiful at night. The next day, I let him know we were going to be out for the day and wanted to check if there were any RVs coming.l so we weren't in the way. He said there was one and offered to move our stuff for us so we could head out earlier. He had been so accommodating and we moved our stuff over to the tent site location. We got the half dozen of eggs which were amazing- made for great breakfast burritos. It was so nice to see the chickens and to meet his dog. The location was close to Boulder so we were able to get some quick dinner and only about an hour from Rocky mountain national park. He was accommodating, quick to respond to messages, and a great host. We did a walk around the area to leave it better than we found it and we'd absolutely stay again!

Staying at Blue Bear was absolutely amazing! The views are breathtaking and the cabin is incredibly cozy! Cesar’s directions were very helpful - echoing that you should get the directions prior to heading up the mountain as you’ll likely not have service. You should also bring your own water! We cannot recommend this place enough. The little wood burning oven was perfect for warming up the cabin and provided such a fun element! Did we already mention the views? 12/10!

We can handle RVs around 40-45 feet in TOTAL LENGTH - truck and trailer. It’s a big field, but a narrow, winding and steep ramp to get in and out. If you are a nervous driver, perhaps choose another place to rest your head. If you are a great driver, you can go even bigger. Prior to your exit, open the gate!! Don't hesitate while going up the driveway - if you stop on your way up, you may not get going again. We have a community fire ring with a big pile of free burn wood, though the big logs are getting few and far between; having your own firewood is recommended. Bring an ax or saw. If it's windy, please skip the fire. We have well water to offer up by the house, but I wouldn’t drink it without purification… makes for a great outdoor shower. We have fresh eggs! The chickens free range during the day, so please keep an eye on your dogs… leash if necessary. Our gals won’t run away. Venmo code at the coop for your convenience. Come experience the high alpine! Our bunkhouse and lot are conveniently located just 1/2 mile from both the St. Mary's Glacier and the Yankee Hill ATV/OHV trailheads. The Arapaho National Forest with tons of hiking is also just 200 yds away! The lot is open and spacious. It faces south and west for maximum sun exposure. Enjoy mountain views of Grey's and Torrey's Peaks right from your lawnchair! Come have a picnic or have a campfire under the stars. Utilize our bunkhouse to crash for a couple nights, to get out of the elements after camping, to give more space for the kids, or just as a mountain hangout with your friends. The bunkhouse, has one full bed, one single bed, and a fold-down futon if needed. It has power, indoor and outdoor lights, and heat, however, no plumbing. An outhouse is provided right outside the door! Use our large lot for overnight parking of your ATV toyhaulers or RVs. Cub Creek Trail Head is also around the corner. Evergreen Lake- 15 min car ride. Fishing, kayaking, picnic. Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre- 30 min car ride. Summer concerts, and movie nights at the park. Our property is at 10,000 feet in the foothills of the Rockies. The last mile is unpaved and has some steep inclines. We receive quite a lot of snow (Oct-May). We require that guests use AWD/4WD vehicles and winter tires to safely access our dome during snow months. After many years here we are sharing our special place. An ideal Mountain base for your Red Rocks Concert home or just a get away. We strongly encourage you to learn more about this area if planning a visit. A tiny wilderness with a 22 foot Tepee. For one to six guests that is nestled in a pine grove near a small brook, with mountain views, and hiking trails. In a picturesque setting on seven acres, part of the old Granzella estate, that is surrounded by old growth of pine and Aspen forests and meadows at an elevation of 7400 feet. Come enjoy our cozy little oasis. Easy access, only a minute and a half from Colorado Highway 285, with a variety of different types of restaurants just a couple minutes away, and a few shopping areas in Aspen Park Shopping Center and beyond to the west on 285. There are different mountain parks such as Meyer Ranch open space park across the valley, a half mile hike from the camp site, with a 4.5 mile hiking trail to the top of the small mountain across the valley Red Rocks Amphitheater Park in Morrison is a short drive, just at the bottom of the 285 Turkey creek canyon The well known Tiny Town and it's railroad is just down the road a few miles for the kids of all ages. Golden and Denver metro are close by, (only 30 - 45 minutes to downtown Denver, and I-25, or 25-40 minutes to Evergreen and I-70), along with all the mountain communities in this area of Highway 285 and I-70 Via Evergreen. Morrison, Conifer, Decker, Pine Junction, Bailey, Grant, Guanella pass Space for up to three full size air mattress'. Which we have available for you, but please, if more than one bed is needed let us know with an advanced request. Please remember this is outdoor tent camping, It's much cooler up here at 7450ft. No fires! Fire is the areas biggest fear. Check for fire bans. ( currently all summer). No gas grills, outside smoking or outside fire sources during fire bans. Bring your sleeping needs, blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, an extra cover is good. With a request at booking, we will only provide air mattresses and cover them with clean sheets. If you are flying from out of town, we can provide sleeping bags for an additional cleaning cost of $20 per bag. We suggest a bag for under and over you. Most common cloth sleeping bags are for 40degree nights. You may want two on top, and one under you on a cold spring or fall night! Don't forget your warmer coat for the cooler evenings. Dress in layers for the fast changing Mountain airs. A large table for cards and games and some seating is provided. (Please, NO loud parties, NO extra guests.) Parking is NOT near the campsite, parking is in the driveway of our house with about a 150 foot walk from the parking to the Teepee campsite through a small glen, with natural stone and wood steps for majority of the path. A WiFi repeater is near the campsite. Ask about connecting and a power source for charging if needed. Please no high amperage power use on the provided source. (No power source for electric heaters or A/C or electric cooking or RV supply). There are cozy outside seating areas, a picnic table and other seating for watching Birds and other critters. This is a wildlife area, Please, no loose dogs! Or Children. A tiedown spot is provided for your dogs lead, do not use Teepee stakes, cords or loops. Youngsters and pets are welcome, but must be supervised in this area and cleaned up after. Do not let them damage trees, plants or dig for the moles or harass wildlife. Keep them off the nearby roadway. Wildlife will kill a dog if a cub or calf is near. Do not let them interact! The Camping site is near Highway 285 with it's traffic sounds and other roads. Mostly the traffic sounds blends and fades into white noise, but be aware there is almost a constant whoosh from the highway and Turkey Creek road, close by the site. There is no running water for the site, but we can fill a jug if needed. A hose, for Fire safety only, is coiled near the site. the valves for the fire hose is at the rear of the house if not already on, and on the post the hose is coiled on near the site. There is a private composting toilet at the campsite. Please don't use the nearest trees. Please drive safely in the canyons.
