The Space:
A 13 ft Bell tent is setup for you with one queen bed and one single bed inside (beds are made with sheets and comforters). The tent sits approximately 75 ft above the river with breathtaking views of the river and canyon. If you are coming with a group, there is over an acre of flat land which is perfect for any type of tent setup.
At the tent site you’ll have access to a table and chairs, lounge chairs, picnic table, gas BBQ, basketball hoop and balls, rock campfire, kayaks, and a porta potty. A short 3-minute walk away from the tent you’ll find the shore of the Bear River.
Guest access:
The tent site is only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles. If you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle there is parking for up to four vehicles at the house. The tent site is less than a quarter mile walk downhill from the house.
River access:
If you’d like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the tent down to the river (3-minute walk). The riverfront has lounge chairs, a picnic table, and kayak's. The riverbank has small pebbles and rocks so water shoes are highly suggested for comfort when going into the water (recommended but not needed).

This is a private tent site with one other listing on the property which is located at the house. You may rarely see other guests during your stay.
Check out is at 12pm. If you or anyone in your party stays past 12:30pm you will be charged for an extra night for your full party.

Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. All of the proceeds from Hipcamp are used to support the animals. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 6 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them.

There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you!
In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces once a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly.
We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants.
We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca.
NOTE: Starting around Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane.

Additional note....Life on the farm is calm, peaceful and easy... operating with the natural rhythm of the
sun cycle. What few clocks we do have, are stuck on twenty minutes past four.

Those of you who have experienced camping before know that these are all normal things when out in nature but for those of you who have no camping experience I ask you to come with an open mind and a positive attitude towards a new experience. If you think you may have problems with any of these things PLEASE DON'T COME!!!

also have a dog named Sara that loves people. Most campers that come are very happy to have her around. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you.

The year round pond and creek along with level terrain make this a rare gem in Nevada County. A 5 acre parcel, but feels much larger as it is bordered by a couple hundred acre cattle/horse ranch and Wolf Creek.

Welcome to Coco, the 1970 Overlander 27’ Airstream! We have tried to preserve her 50-year-old charm as much as possible and are still in the process of restoring her to her original glory. Our family of 4 humans, two dogs, and one guinea pig lived in Coco while our house was being built. It was quite an adventure!
Coco is nestled in the foothills of the Sierras on our semi-private 4-acre property. Easy access to Grass Valley, Nevada City, and the Yuba River. Coco the Airstream is fully functional with a kitchen and bathroom. There is one full-ish size bed that sleeps two comfortably in the bedroom area, and the couch can fold into one twin-sized bed.
We are located about 15 minutes to town and 10 to the nearest grocery store. Coco the Airstream shares the property with a private family of four humans and two dogs in a house at the top of the hill. My parents are full time RVers and often stay in the other RV spot on our property throughout the year when they are taking a break from traveling. The two dogs are very friendly but may bark to greet you upon your arrival.

Located at the base of the Sierra foothills, the lake and recreation area offers opportunities for hiking, biking, running, camping, picnicking, horseback riding, water-skiing and boating. Fishing offers trout, catfish, big and small mouth bass or perch. Visitors can also see the Folsom Powerhouse (once called "the greatest operative electrical plant on the American continent"), which from 1885 to 1952 produced 11,000 volts of electricity for Sacramento residents.
For cyclists, there is a 32-mile long bicycle path at Beals Point that connects Folsom Lake with many Sacramento County parks before reaching Old Sacramento. The park also includes Lake Natoma, downstream from Folsom Lake, which is popular for crew races, sailing, kayaking and other aquatic sports.
At both locations, you will stay in 16ft deluxe tents. Each tent has 2 full beds in them.
At Beals Point we offer "Luxury" Glamping with real furniture, cozy bedding, and all the amenities you need for a relaxing and fun filled stay for up to 8 people (AT BEALS POINT ONLY!).
At both Beals Point and Peninsula, we also offer "Basic" Glamping, where we bring the tent and mattresses, and you bring the rest. This means that you need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bags, blankets and other camping essentials. Close by the sites are public restrooms with running water, drinking water, and showers. Hiking trails are found all around at both locations. At Beals Point you can rent kayaks, visit the snack bar, or take a dip in the lake- whatever suits your needs can be found close by!

We had a great time staying at Shanna's place. My kids loved the animals and thought it was so cool that they were just walking around. We had a pop-up trailer and were able to hook up to electric or water (we only did electric). There is a small shared bathroom, but probably better if you were self contained. The location is beautiful, and other than the animals making their usual funny sounds, it is a quiet area. They had a BBQ grill we could use, small gas fire pit, and a table and chairs. We only live 1 hour away, so this was a fun experience for us to do for a weekend with the kids!

We loved our first-class teepee glamping experience! Everything was provided for cooking and sleeping. The electric kettle was perfect for the morning coffee press. Large mini fridge worked perfectly, even had a small freezer space. Plenty of seating and 3 comfy hammocks. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked with every size pan and utensil. Just a quick rinse before use is needed since it is an outdoor kitchen. The chimney inside the teepee was a very unique experience, it did get a little smokey, but partially opening the front door flap helped a lot. Smoke smell inside the teepee didn't bother us since that's usually part of camping anyway. It felt pretty private. Thank you so much for creating this special place!

3 nights at Perfect Getaway with Private Creeks
While looking for a place to unwind and connect in nature I found this gem. It was a bit further than I had originally planned to travel to but it felt so perfect that I decided to adjust my plans to make this my destination.
What an incredible spot. I could not have asked for a more perfect place to decompress. The amenities are cozy and perfectly done. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen worked well and the bbq was in tip-top shape! Oh and the outdoor shower and tub - GLORIOUS!! What an amazing touch to be able to have a nice hot outdoor shower in the middle of nature.
I felt alone yet also close to "town" if I wanted to pop out and explore Nevada City or Grass Valley or to grab groceries. The location is idyllic along the banks of Deer Creek (raging pretty hard mind you - I wouldn't get in right now due to the heavy flow). The creatures were out - I had a friendly hare and a roaming wild turkey and even saw a baby deer.
This was a premium hipcamp experience and I could not recommend it more. 100 out of 10. No notes from this outdoors loving person. Thanks for sharing your place Joe!

Would recommend! We stayed at the campsite Oak Savannah and tent camped as a camper van. Feels very desolate and just what I was wanting with the lake nearby. Warning you had to walk thru tall grass to get there. The bathrooms are porta potty’s. Firewood was at our site upon arrival, not sure if it always is. Plenty of table space. Friendly guard dogs fun seeing them in action, there are two cows on property* lots of wildlife. The road in is one way the last bit and gravel one way, heads up for the wary drivers

We had a wonderful stay at Tanya’s place. It’s clear she’s thought of everything you might need for a relaxing getaway, particularly with kids or pet friend. The shallow, slow-moving water, fun kayaks, well-equipped kitchen, and the trampoline/play area were all highlights. The bed was comfortable and all the equipment felt top quality.
While it feels very private in that you don’t really see anyone, the main house is visible and nearby, so it has more of a “beautiful backyard retreat” feel than being fully secluded. That said, the space itself, especially the beach area still feels like a special little escape. We’d absolutely love to come back.

We had such a great experience at this Hipcamp. The kids absolutely loved the animals—it was easily the highlight of the trip and kept them entertained the entire time. The setting was peaceful and felt like a true getaway.
The host struck the perfect balance—very helpful and responsive when we needed anything, but also gave us plenty of space to relax and enjoy our time. That made a big difference.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this spot and would happily come back again.

Lovely property!! Went in April and was surprised to see the Oak Savanna campsite was full of green instead of dead weeds! The hosts were super friendly- ordered the firewood and got a ton (and it was nice and dry), and the chicken eggs! Lots of sweet animals on the property, and the sites are far from one another so you feel like you’re camping alone.
That said- someone else mentioned it- the dogs. Super sweet, loving pups, that adopted us, hung out with us the three days and two nights I was there. If you come with a dog- be forewarned- this is a much better spot for people who love dogs but don’t have one- or if you do have one it’s fine with being on leash while having other dogs hang out all day, and get in their face to smell. My dog gives one lip curl warning them snaps, so after the lip curl I had to put him in my camping van the rest of the day and night, and look for the time they weren’t around to let him out to go to the bathroom. Then the next day my parents visited, and I had them take my dog with them. So with that, ans the reason I book these trips is so my dog and I can enjoy quiet nature time together- I left a day early. The host was super apologetic and I get it- the dogs took us in as their pack and wanted to hang and protect us, which I would have loved were it not for the fact that I have a dog that prefers one on one time, I’d go again. I still try to think maybe there’s some way I can go again with my dog…
And make sure your car can do dirt roads.

We had a beautiful time at Peaceful Pond! The camper was clean and comfortable, and the pond was enchanting. We spent most of our time there paddling the boat and enjoying the quiet on the water. The chorus of frogs at night was fun! Nicole was kind and helpful with everything we needed. We would definitely love to come back!

Wonderful secluded property, self check in was seamless and we didn’t see or hear another person on the private 150 acres for the entirety of our stay. The tiny home was clean and well organized, the instant hot water heater worked great for our outdoor shower and tub. This was definitely my two dogs favorite trip as they were free to roam and enjoy the property unleashed. Joe had a tent set up outside of the cabin which the kids enjoyed sleeping in. The endless supply of conveniently placed fire wood for the provided smokeless fire pit was perfect for the cold nights along with the heater/ac in the cabin. Lots of creek access which you can hear well from the cabin. Grill was clean and had every you would need to cook inside the cabin or at the grill. Multiple restrooms was also a plus. Swimming holes were fun and safe for the dogs
And kids. AT&T cell service was good enough to communicate with the outside world if needed. Bed and pillows were comfy and clean. The lighting at night was perfect. Got a good nap in on the hammock after a long day at the creek. Lots of turkeys. Trout spotted in creek. Easy drive down. My 14yo son drove the car for the first time around the property a bit. Shot some cans with pellet guns.The add ons are well worth it btw. We can’t wait to go back, absolutely beautiful and a place where time slows down and you can enjoy your family & nature without distractions or other people near by. Thank you Joe, can’t wait to come back.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Valley Ranch Retreat
This was a beautiful space that was especially breathtaking in the moonlight. Geoffrey was a gracious host and gave us space. I was obsessed with the friendly horses and all the hiking options throughout the space. Sleeping in the camper for a plus sized person was a challenge (I am 6’3, 280lbs) but other than that I am absolutely going to be coming back here one day!

This property was absolutely beautiful! It was our first time using this app, camping on a private camp ground, and we brought a large group of friends and family. Some joined just for the day, while others stayed multiple nights. There was more than enough space for everyone to spread out and enjoy.
We had children of all ages with us, from infants and toddlers to teenagers, and every single one of them absolutely loved it. Even with a downpour of rain during our stay, it didn’t take away from the experience at all; the kids still had an amazing time, which says everything about how great this place is.
The farm animals were such a highlight, horses, ponies, cows, the camp dogs, and especially the baby goats made it extra memorable. I’ve honestly never had this much fun at a campsite. I’ll also note that the walking distance is so close to the lake we even considered bringing a boat next time to allow summer lake fun to a future stay.
Lastly, the owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and provided a generous range of options that made the experience feel both easy and special. He was available when/if needed and checked in with us through the app.
We will definitely be returning!

16 ft rooftop tent
This is a very unique setting to camp. Our host Alyse was very hospitable, made us feel at home at our site, and communicated very well. We had such an amazing view of the sunset and sunrise over her vineyards. The site is a large leveled concrete and it was nice not having to set up leveling blocks for our roof top tent. There are very clean spacious bathrooms a short wall from camp. We loved being able to taste her wine and spirits on the weekend, which I have to say were delightfully unique. We had a great time talking to her about wine and travel. One of our favorite outdoor experiences to date. Thank you Alyse!
