Campfires are allowed (outside of burn bans), and there is a toilet in off season and Port-A-Potties during the summer on site as well. When we woke up we got to visit with the horses, use the really clean port-potty, and chat with Bonnie and Chris the Hosts. The road to get there is two and a half miles up the mountain, the first mile is paved and the other mile and a half is gravel. In the surrounding area you can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, beachcombing, birdwatching, and countless other outdoor activities. French Hill Trail is a few more miles up the mountain road. The campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, and campers are provided with 5 gallons of potable water. An outdoor, COLD-water Artesian shower, out in the open mountain air with the wild things and an outhouse with a compost toilet are also provided. Bundles of firewood are available for an extra charge when you book your campsite. The campsites are set within a deciduous and pine forest at about 1913 feet in elevation. There is a pond on the property, but its purpose is for wildlife habitat ONLY, so water activities are NOT allowed. NO swimming, NO fishing, NO boating, NO trapping, etc. The wild things live here! The property owner has a dog, three cats, and a menagerie of yard birds such as turkeys, peacocks, guinea hens, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. They do make noise! Kirk has lived off-grid for over twenty years and holds a wealth of information about the Gasquet/Del Norte County area. Perhaps the most interesting feature of the property is that it has had documented Sasquatch encounters over the past twenty years that have been published in "Tribal Bigfoot" (D. Paulides 2009). Weekend Trip to Cedar Bloom

Large area to work with. Also, warm showers on the river have an absolutely gorgeous view of the river. However, it is outside and you can see the highway from the shower… meaning the highway can see you. There could be better paths and signage to follow, but once you get a gist of the area it’s very easy to find everything. The hosts are very accommodating. They had an employee drop of the firewood we purchased from the camp store. Also there was a full community kitchen that came in handy for things we forgot. We just washed them all and put them back when we were done.

The pond area is sublime & peaceful. This location is a challenge to get to with a steep ascent but it does indeed true you on top of the clouds. Totally worth it! Wine too……a perfect location.

I absolutely love this Hipcamp! It's so private (you have your own driveway and gate) and feels very safe. Surrounded by trees and farmland. Lots of cute little amenities to enjoy while there. The ground is level enough that you can just pull right in and set up. The host is very kind and responsive. Also, I think there's an owl that lives here, and he was a joy to listen to. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed RV camping on Patti's land. It was a full service pull through site. Super quiet and miles away from the Highway 101. If you enjoy quiet evenings, with very minimal cell or wifi connection then this is the place for you!

We enjoyed our stay here. The view was outstanding. We were in site N-3. We have a 17’ campervan and it fit perfectly, although it is a pretty small site. As some people reported, there is a bit of poison oak at some of the edges of the campsite, but not a lot. We were able to easily avoid it and keep our dog away from it. There is some traffic noise from 101, but honestly, we hardly even noticed as the beautiful sound of the ocean is all we heard. The path to the beach is quite steep in some parts, so if you’re older like me, you may want to bring a hiking pole for extra stability on the steep parts. It was worth it though, as the beach was fantastic. It was almost like a private beach. I only saw two other people there. The only thing we weren’t thrilled about was the bathroom/shower in the basement of the owner’s home. It was not as clean as I would have preferred. Not a deal breaker for me, but it could have been better.

The sites are great. The amenities mostly okay. The showers are not private, however. They do not feel safe, as anyone can walk in. Some of the shower stalls have curtains, but there are no lockable doors. Another issue is that they don’t have what they advertise as EV charging. It is an outlet that you can plug a trickle charger into, and you would have to park your car next to the communal kitchen in the middle of a walkway for days to charge. This is impractical and a lie at worst, a lack of knowledge and false advertisement at best.. They do NOT have what they emailed me saying they do, which is a standalone EV charging station. Charge your car before you get there, because otherwise you could be stranded. When I approached the camp host about this issue during normal business hours, they appeared inebriated on something and had no idea what I was asking. There was no understanding whatsoever. I walked away having no solution. This to me is careless and unprofessional.
