The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice. We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them. Learn more about this land: The site is in a forested area with short pine and manzanita trees, so its nice and sunny, just out of the daily fog zone that blankets the coast, but only 3 miles from the coast. The neighborhood is super quiet and you can walk right from here to the Pygmy State Park trail system or just on the gravel neighborhood road. There is a main tent site and another tent site and places for 2 cars or more or a small travel trailer or van (20' length ok). There's a place for at least 2-3 tents and there is a table with 3 chairs provided. Also a metal box to keep your food away from bears that might come by (haven't had that happen yet). No campfires please but propane/gas cook stoves are fine. 50 gallons of potable water is provided from a tank. Please conserve water. Keep all food in your vehicle as there are bears and forest critters around. Outhouse with new, clean composting toilet, environmentally friendly! Starting April 15th 2026 the kitchen and outdoor showers we'll be fully reopen for Spring. ALL YOU NEED TO BRING FOR MEALS IS THE FOOD. Limited grocery shopping in our little town; it's good to shop ahead. During June- August, fires MIGHT be allowed in the communal fire pit near the kitchen. You must ask the host!, No fires at your campsite June- August, Fires during cooler months are often allowed at your campsite, but you must ask the host if current conditions allow Fire MUST be completely extinguished before you go to sleep at night. Redwood camp is situated in a grove of redwoods containing multiple tent sites. These are walk-in sites with easy unloading, no more than 50 feet from your car. Tent campers must park in the parking area between the sign board and porta-potty. Be advised that this is a working farm and there is an echo in the valley. While it is peacefully quiet most of the time, you may hear some daytime farm activity. We also have a guard dog who moves around with our flock of sheep and goats who barks regularly after dark and when she perceives a potential predator. **There is no cell service on or within 15 minutes of our property. Wifi and a landline phone are available to campers in case of emergencies. **Pets must be kept on a leash at all times! For the safety of everyone including your pets, our dogs, and the various livestock on the farm, we can't allow any pets off leash.

We are Albion locals lucky enough to call the Oak Show home. We live on the other end of the Oak Show property, a distance providing ample privacy for guests. We have two young children and two Lab mix dogs. You may see us walking along the driveway. Please drive slowly. We share this space with our neighbors, children, and pets. We also ask that campers be mindful of noise in the evenings and respect our rule of all amplified music being off between the hours of 10pm-8am. The water on our property comes from our well. Please be respectful of the drought conditions in our area and conserve water in any way possible. The base rate for this site includes up to four people, there is an extra charge of $15 per day, per person for any extra people. Campers can set up tents or trailers around the site and have access to the kitchen and bathroom, as well as an outdoor shower. There is a kegerator, gas grill, propane heater, and a corn hole set available to rent (see Extras). There is plenty of space to set up multiple tents, perfect for a group. Navarro Beach and Van Damme State Beach are 15 minute drives away. The village of Albion has a general store and deli, as well as beautiful river and marina. A 20 minute drive North will get you to the village of Mendocino where you'll find shopping and restaurants, as well as access to hiking, biking, kayaking, and whale watching. Should you have any questions or need any help during your stay, we are just a short walk away and happy to help. We hope you enjoy our site and we look forward to hosting you!

We've been HipCamping for 8 years and this is one of the most thoughtful HipCamps we've stayed at. All the little touches....blankets, seating with shielded fire pits, sinks and lights by the site, hammock in the tree. And extremely well put together bath area. We've seen some horrendous ones and this is top of the list. We came in January in our van. And what a treat to have it all to ourselves. To sit outside under the stars or sway in the hammock without the sound of someone else's music was pure bliss. Just the sound of birds and the hum of the fog horn in the distance. Love the proximity to hiking and all that Mendo/Fort Bragg have to offer. Would definitely recommend.

Oak camp is the most private of the three campsites, yet is still close to the bathrooms and the common camp areas and outdoor kitchen.

This is an epic spot near the Mendocino coast. It was both remote and comfortable. We parked a small Sprinter RV onsite for four days in January. Jack rabbits, crows, and a few friendly dogs visited us. The view from the deck, looking out over the tops of tall pine trees, was incredible. It was so quiet that we heard the feathers of birds flying overhead. Communication with our hosts was easy (though there is virtually no cell signal), and Mendocino was a quick drive away. Hope to be back sometime soon!

This property was amazing! The thoughtfulness and attention to detail that Shay & Liz have put into each campsite is undeniable. I really appreciate the chairs, the firepit, the firewood with starter sticks and the picnic table. I love a small secluded Hipcamp with amenities! The proximity to Fort Bragg and Mendocino was fantastic for errands and grabbing food. The trail head right off the property was lovely! I’d love to come back here!

This is the best hidden gem. This retreat is so big you can spend couple of days exploring. The bathroom is evacuate. The hot shower is amazing. If you need to a place to mentally reset and reconnect with nature, this is the spot. We came with our kids and spent a night there before heading up to the redwoods. Its a great break if you dont want do one long drive.

Pinewood Campground

This was a fantastic little spot. We stayed in the dome option, and my daughter loved seeing the stars and the moon at night. The bathroom facilities were excellent. We booked this the day of, and the host was super responsive to the initial reservation request and turned the twinkle lights on when we messaged them we would be arriving after dark. The host takes great pride in this spot, adding great details to the overall aesthetic. The suggested a little hike to the river was nice and the cafe listed in the welcome packed was a delicious bonous. Only regret was not having more time to explore. If you flow the host's instructions not the google maps direction its easy to find.

MacKerricher Walk-in Campground

This is by far my favorite campground yet solely because I have been going here since I was around 3 years of age. It has EVERYTHING. It is by the gorgeous coast with blue skies and blue waters. There are tide pools everywhere. There are beautiful bluffs to take in the sights, sunrises, and sunsets. There is also a boardwalk that leads you to different ocea/rock formation look out points. This is an area you do not want to forget your camera. The campsites are very spacious and not crammed side by side. They have various campsite choices. The Rangers are extremely nice and hepful. There is a lake nearby with fishing. There are also large sand dunes a few miles down the road as well as downtown village with shoppes. The shoppes are one of my favorites too because they have the best breakfast, coffee and pastries as well as grocery stores, pharmacies, movie theathers, etc! Go Enjoy!

Report from your shirtless host on Mac Kerricher State Park. If you have not been to this park you are in for a treat. Just 3 miles north of Fort Bragg. At the south end you got the Glass Beach. This Beach has sea Glass from the past. The experience of finding sea Glass is unforgettable and something to remember always. In side the park you have shore and Bishop pines. When the sun comes out and the warm air hits the pines the smell is so relaxing. A boardwalk that takes you out to Laguna point for whale watching and a seal watching station. There is a 140 camping sites accommodate tent and recreational vehicles. Tow group tent-only sites well hold 40 to 60 camper This state park is a must if you are planning a camping trip

Surfwood Campground

Surfwood Campground is part of a group of campgrounds at MacKerricher. When you book, find the correct site # on the campground map. Because of it's location close to the beach, it's also typically the most crowded. The sites are nestled amongst the trees, not actually along the beach. The bathrooms, water spigots, and picnic tables are okay but not great. And combined with the crowds, you might want to try Van Damme State Park just about 20min south. I didn't stay at the other campgrounds at MacKerricher, so look at the reviews there too. You can definitely stop at MacKerricher during the day to see some tide pools, sea lions, and check out the beach, but I'd keep it to that.

I just did a walk around the lake here and did a walk about through the walk in camps... My pick for seclusion are #2&#6. Ended up tent camping in spot #9 in the group camping loop just past the ranger station which was great. great campground for all.

I cannot say enough about the walk-up sites. It's a 5-10 minute walk from the parking lot and almost all of the sites have their own separate entrance=total seclusion. You'll be surrounded by trees and can hear the ocean. Watch out for wildlife (duh)!
