We stayed here for a night and really enjoyed it. Clean, spacious grassy sites. Water and clean portable toilets as well as picnic tables/chairs were provided.

We will definitely visit again!
What a beautiful spot! We will definitely visit again. We had to change our travel plans due to car issues, and Biasha was very accommodating. She responded to my messages quickly. The portable toilets were clean and the property was well maintained.

Glorious relaxation
Our second time here and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. I chose the Maple Tree site this time at Black Oak Ranch because of its proximity to the swimming hole, and we were so glad! The creek is beautiful, the swimming hole is big and deep, and nature shows her beautiful sparkling self in all her glory. The stars, the river rocks in blues and greens, a little fox, frogs, minnows, wild thyme—California camping ❤️

Nice campsite, but close to highway
Pros: beautiful campground, good facilities (bathrooms / water / table and chairs)
Cons: unfortunately it was far too close to the highway for us and the noise from the cars made it difficult to enjoy the campsite. It does mention the highway in the description which we should have read more carefully. We ended up not staying for the night because it was too noisy.

had a great time, 10/10
Lots of shade, the creek and swimming holes were amazing for an afternoon cool off (or 3!), the porta potty was honestly the cleanest I've ever seen one, it was super quiet with lots of space between sites. We brought our own propane fire pit and we're able to have s'mores and enjoy the next best thing to a wood fire.
You could hear the road but I hardly noticed. This might become our annual summer camping trip!

Cool spot to stop
We noped out of a sketch hotel and thankfully BOB Camp was instant book. We booked, got a helpful message from the host, met the camp host, and we were in camp within the hour. It’s a great little spot and we would love to come back. When it’s hot out make sure to figure out where the morning shade will be. Also, the Porta potty was exceptionally clean.

Beautiful, well-run campground
BOB Camp was a truly magical place to stay. Our campsite had an ideal mix of shade and sun; close to town, but set far back enough to feel relaxing and immersive; amenities (a nearby spout for drinkable water and extremely clean Porto-potties) that made the camping (especially with kids) super easy, but wandering around to the nearby swimming holes still felt wild and adventurous. I highly recommend this campground, particularly for families.
Site 5 - Back of the Bowl (BOB Camp)
Biasha offered us a different location because Back of the Bowl needed to be cleaned up after a large group. She graciously gave us some options and we stayed at Bear Camp. Upside: very clean, great layout for the music festivals, very close to Hwy 101, ok place for a single night.
Downside: very close to Hwy 101, (cars hitting the rumble strip and trucks all night) very high priced for a spot with a spigot and a chem toilet. Even though it was very clean.

This Place is Why we love HIPCAMP
Welcome to one of most relaxing Hipcamps. Come and relax or take a dip in the seasonal waters. Come alone or with your family and friends. This safe and wonderful space is a enjoy and the owner's love to share it with you and it shows!
This camp has port-a-potties in reach for everyone, drinking water that is actually drinkable and enough camping space to spread out.
Here you have the option of a propane rental (do it!) as well as a veggie pack, delivered right to your site. The veggie pack is an abundance of homegrown vegetables with a bouquet of wild flowers. I can tell you that you HAVE to get the veggie pack!
Riverside Bluffs is a welcoming and beautiful loved space. I'll be back again and again! Thank you so much. JS #K9JenniferSharpe

Nice to get out in the wilds… 100+ degrees temps were a bit rough when you are not used to them but a short hike to the river and cooled off. Love that each site has the lined trash cans, and a fire extinguisher. In the heat of the dry summer temps that little detail was not missed and very appreciated.

Camped with a large group here to finally be able to get together after COVID restrictions opened up.
Biasha was great and prompt on answering my questions. Our group was large (>20) and everything turned out fantastic! The Main Stage and BOB camps worked out perfectly. The ranch was easy to find and some of the group enjoyed exploring the creek.
There was plenty of shade under the trees for camping as well.

Great for our stop on the way up the 101, our campsite was easy to find, had tables and chairs and a trash can. Afraid we just stayed the night, but the sunset and surrounding area was beautiful. The portalets were very clean and well-stocked.

Black Oak Ranch is a special place with so much history! The property is beautiful and there is so much nature to see. Bird watchers will love it. We even had a surprise visit from a fox! This campsite provided just the right amount of shade and sun. You're also close to so many day trips to the Redwoods and the coast. Highly recommend!

A natural spa
Large and isolated with a beautiful river safe for kids and swimmable for adults. The natural forming clay in the river and the small rushing stream make for a natural spa!

Site 2 - Owl Stage Camp
Owl Stage Camp was a wonderful campsite! The site itself had both sun and shade, and was a short distance to the creek. While there were more campers than our prior visit, it was still very private and really quiet (minus the frogs!). Biasha was a very warm and welcoming host and helped us with everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back!

Site 2 - Main Stage Camp
We had a great stay at the main stage camp site! We were a family with three young kids in a camper trailer in addition to some friends with two extra tents. Camp site was nice and clean, had a table with four chairs, trash can, porta potties and water supply close. We also had a power outlet for our camper. Nice distance to the other camp sites and walking distance to a nice little creek where we hanged all day long. Host was nice and easy to communicate with. On site host for help if needed. Very satisfied with our stay!

Met and exceeded expectations
This camping space was amazing. It way exceeded our expectations. We booked last minute and we’re so lucky to get a space that wasn’t around too many others and had access to portable water and a bathroom. Lots of land to walk around on and if you bring kids or dogs-they can run wild.
The hosts checked us on and are fantastic people, took the time to chat a bit and tell us the history of the land.
Would definitely stay here again!!!!

BOB Camp is just lovely! The grounds are so clean to the point of immaculate. Each camp site is accessible and spacious for your enjoyment. Bathrooms are the cleanest and there are plenty of them! BOB Camp makes it easy to Pack-It-Out by providing a rubbish bag for every site: just fill and bring home. .
They are welcoming and delightedly that you are enjoying yourself! This is the cleanest, relaxing, spacious with a seasonal spring to boot Hipcamp has to offer, Don't miss out on this one!!!! Yup, I'll be Returning soon. Thank you so much Biasha for sharing your wonderful space with each and everyone of us Travelers. xo

Lovely place. Great hosts
Site 1 - Site Camp
Black Oak Ranch is gorgeous - a nicely maintained property with a lot of space, clean port-a-potty toilets and creek.
We stayed only one night and two disappointments.
One, our site got moved alongside a loud-late-night group. Bummed to be around so much open space yet organized the camp sites closely together.
Two, we missed out on the produce box we ordered ahead given we left before checkout/11am. I didn't realize we had to communicate far ahead regarding timing to get it.
Neither directly to do with operations per se, but wasn't a peaceful visit. The site hosts were wonderfully kind, apologetic and promptly refunded the cost of the box. Would likely return if they opt for more Hipcampers again.
