The campsite faces South/West so sunsets are fantastic. We use no chemicals on the soil or annual grasses. It is very quiet and the night sky is always stunning. Owls hoot at night and Redtail Hawks hunt for ground squirrels during the day. We have alot of Acorn woodpeckers living in the oak trees, the ones with the bright red head feathers. April through June we see bright yellow Orioles. At night you will hear hundreds of little frogs in the nearby ponds, depending on the season. Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles. Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait. Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay. We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea. We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water. Please bring your own drinking/cooking water. It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker! On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey). Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots. but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them. We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen. Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited. Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.

We loved the country feel and being remote, tucked away in the hills. You’re not on a concrete slab crammed in with tons of other campers. There are only 3 RV spots which are perfectly spaced apart. Jeff responded immediately to any questions we had and the tasting with his wife was delightful. Can’t wait to come back!

We stayed there as a halfway stop on our way to Joshua Tree. I’m originally from the Caruthers area, so i wanted to see the area after a 55 year absence. Cheryl was a responsive and welcoming host. She sent us the gate code and let us find our way. Clear directions and easy to find. Beautiful setting. It was a rainy night, so being under cover was nice.

We had an awesome night’s sleep at RandCher. The space was perfectly clean and easy to park in. We were the only campers the night we stayed, and it was a treat to have so private a setting. The coyotes and birds were fun to listen to, and after they went to sleep (?) it was SO QUIET at the vineyard. Very peaceful. Highly recommend1

Weekend Trip to Private Campground in Wine Country

Barbara was responsive to inquiries before booking. The tent space was nicely laid out and would make a perfect group outing if reserving all the spaces as well as having a cottage and a small cabin for those who prefer glamping. I did have the place to myself. Walking the grounds was also lovely. One thing to note is the dogs may run up to you though they are well behaved. Also heard barking periodically through the night. It was a quick one night stay. The jam tasting would have been nice add on.

Pleasantly surprised! This is the first time that we have stayed at a Sub Outdoors Resort. A few things that we were unaware of: 1. Halloween is huge deal at this location! If you want the weekend prior to Halloween be prepared for the entire park to fill quickly but also participate in all the festivities! Which is super cool. 2. If you have pets, please consider utilizing a travel fence! They allow your pets more freedom without the constant constraint of their leash. 3. The amenities were phenomenal, minus the food selection- but we are foodies. That and the bar/restaurant hours are strange. It is possibly because we were there in a low season?? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Not sure but the bar/restaurant was only open Thursday-Sunday. I assume most people probably only stay the weekend/long weekend but for people that are there during the week Paso Robles has plenty of food/drink options. We will 100% come back for another stay!
