Primitive camping

In 1881 my family purchased this property. It's home to abundant wildlife, our cattle herd and minutes away from the Los Padres National Forest. The area has a rich history, of gold and silver mining and bank robbers. Jesse and Frank James lived at the nearby La Panza Ranch while nursing gunshot wounds. We are a short drive from Pozo Road, where you will find yourself nestled under an oak amongst the season's vegetation. Abundant wildlife in the camp area with pigs, coyotes and Tule elk residing in the mountains on the property. Seasonal birds, wildflowers and cattle grazing.  Hike, bike or just relax on the property and enjoy the star gazing that comes without the city lights. It's just a few minutes down the road to the Los Padres National Forrest but at least 45 minutes to the closest town. If you bring your dirt bikes or ATVs you'll need to enjoy them only while on the forest property. We enjoy our wildlife and work to protect it with rotational cattle grazing. The property has been in the family since 1881; remnants of past farming and livestock operations are ever-present. We look forward to your visit!

Camping in the trees. Quiet.
We had an excellent stay for 2 nights. This place is lovely and remote. Very quiet and the sites have lots of old trees. Our host Susan answered all of our questions. The entrance is almost opposite the fire station - less than 0.1 mile. Easy access for our 32ft travel trailer.

Peaceful and beautiful.
Beautiful. Peaceful. Quiet. Away from everything. It was exactly what I was looking for. I would stay there again!

Beautiful land! It really gave me a feeling of "life on the open range" :). I always see land from.teh highway and really appreciated the opportunity to step foot on it. It also felt like a great adventure without traveling too far from home. The terrain os really pretty, and the stars were wonderful 😊

Beautiful, isolated spot in the oaks. So quiet and the stars were incredible! We were in a pop up camper. Perfect for us.

It is a lovely property. Anyone thinking about this property should be cognizant of the fact that there are no amenities, and there is a fire ban. Be prepared and enjoy!

Oh, the stars at night💫
Rural beauty, a great balance of sun and shade. Enjoyed listening to the various songs of the different bird varieties. The star show at night is absolutely beautiful. An outhouse/water faucet would be a great addition! I’d recommend Susan s spot to other van/RV campers! Thank you for having us.
