Broken Branch Creek

Staying in my little camper Daisy on the ranch felt so wonderfully safe, peaceful and homey! So much room to spread out for every camper - there were three others there - and still felt private. Having a closed gate on the property at night was wonderful. The porta-potty was so clean! The sunrises and sunsets were stunning, as well as the stars at night. I would gladly come back for another stay!

Thoughtful hosts and great stay

Kevin was so friendly and welcoming; gave me a great overview of the property and even told me of a little hike I could take. One porta potty on the grounds, stocked with tp and is taken care of. Stayed for three nights---I was away during the days, but each night when I came back to camp it was great just to sit with a glass of wine by my tent and watch the stars. Thanks, Cabernet and Kevin, for providing such a great spot to camp!

This camping area was perfect for our needs. Simple sites with picnic tables near beautiful old oak trees. Very friendly, low-key hosts with great communication. Super convenient location, especially for access to Vina Robles. Would definitely stay there again.

Tranquility in wine country

Peaceful and beautiful Very quiet and pastoral. Your neighbors are squirrels, hawks and golden eagles. Great location for PCH in lower Big Sur and especially Hearst Castle. Host very personable.

Quiet site and hookups worked well. The host was very nice. When we arrived, he showed us to our site and explained where the hiking trails were. Convenient to get to everything in Paso. It was a quick drive to the main highway.

Quiet and Convenient

Kevin and Cabernet were wonderful hosts! This dry camping place is close to Paso making it very convenient. It was very quiet and cooled off at night with the off shore breeze coming in late afternoon.

Tent under shady Oaks in Paso Roble

Very Easy to find. Called when I arrived at the location, and host was at the entrance to direct, give additional information and recommendations for local dining, entertainment, etc. Would absolutely return if I needed a site in the vicinity Reasonable pricing for a last minute need.

Owls at night, bunnies in morning!

We sent a message to see if they could receive us at t!e last minute (just before sundown), absolutely! It was wonderful and quiet after a long hot day in San Luis Obispo. A morning walk around the property had plenty of bunnies foraging with rolling hills as far as the eye can see. We parked out van under a beautiful oak tree that provided plenty of shade. Would highly recommend for those stopping through the area!

A Safe Stay for Our Family

Perfect spot for us! We were greeted upon arrival and shared lovely conversation with the owner. The space was clean and exactly what’s advertised. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Hopefully the cows will be there next time :)

Such a wonderful spot and gracious hosts. They came out to greet us and make sure we found our spot okay. We saw billions of stars and heard coyotes howling at night! Such a perfect little site! The ground was nice and flat, perfect for our pop-up tent on the car, didn’t have to worry about leveling it out. Thank you!

This is a rustic site, the host is great. Don’t expect a rv park vibe. A self contained unit works great here. This site has water and electric. No garbage cans, take your trash with you. Porta potties were clean but still better if you self contained unit. Lovey sunsets.

A field of dirt next to a road with no set sites with people all piled on top of one another. Definitely not recommended. This is the first bad review I’ve ever left for a Hipcamp. Charging ninety dollars for this is unreal.

Nice and peaceful spot

Very responsive and responsible hosts. Property is clean, a sites are dry and flat. Only about 10 minutes away from the closest town. Surrounded by vineyards and farmland. Hosts allow car camping too. And the campsites are reachable even in low sedans.

Unexpected Find of Favorite Spot

We ended up booking Broken Branch Creek last minute due to an unexpected car issue—and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best camping experiences we’ve had. The Ranch is peaceful and quiet, especially at night. The site was well maintained with clean port potties and running water available, which was a huge plus for dry camping. You can tell the hosts really care about keeping the space comfortable and welcoming. Speaking of the hosts—they were amazing! Super responsive from the moment we booked, and Kevin even stopped by our site to greet us and share some awesome local tips. It really made us feel at home and added a personal touch you don’t get everywhere. Highly recommend this spot whether you're in a bind or planning a peaceful getaway. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice enough though we found ourselves (in the hook up area) surrounded by shipping containers and tanks and an outhouse. Also, the site had aging chairs, picnic tables and toys scattered about. We were the only ones there, but it likely would have been a bit crowded with others. Though we provided an ETA, the hosts were delayed in arriving to unlock the electrical box for hookups, so we had to wait longer than I hoped. Also, I was surprised to find we were camped along a road frequently used during the day, though silent at night. It was close to Paso Robles and Sensorio which we appreciated. The stars at night were amazing!

Site 4 - Dry Camping

Cabernet and Kevin were great hosts, checking in with me several times to make sure everything was ok. Very friendly and accommodating. The camping is a restful spot in a big field. The sites are not separated, but I was the only one there so privacy was not an issue. Sites are very close to the road with more daytime road noise than I expected. However, nights were quiet and peaceful. Overall my experience was very good. Some amenities are provided, like water, a porta potty, and picnic tables. No electric, of course, but a comfortable setting. I would be happy to stay there again.
