101 Acre Woods

12 sites ¡ RVs, Tents160 acres ¡ Dawson Creek, Peace River
The property is located at a high point that was a useful for a fire watch tower for many years. The land was pioneered by the family that lived here before us and the house and several building were built by hand and still stand to this day from almost 100 years ago. The farm is located on a geological plane that prevents oilfield activity and as a result gives us a peaceful buffer. Lincoln and Blake have brought 101 Acre Woods into the future with high speed Internet access and outdoor wi-fi as well as large areas for outdoor games and patio area with fire pit and BBQ. 101 Acre Woods also has a Grand Hall, that can accommodate large number of gatherings or events 101 Acre Woods "Traditions are made Here" Learn more about this land: Dawson Creek, B.C. Home to Mile "O" of the Alaska Highway, the main crossroads and a great stopping place before heading further up the trail. The property is 15 minutes away on pavement and has many trails to explore. You can see wildlife such as deer, moose, bears and interact with animals on the farm.  There is a nice clean swimming hole a short walk from camping with a beautiful view. Sites are varied. We have large more private sites or sites that are smaller but offer a great safe place to park for the night. The property has a nice, quiet and relaxed feel during the day with the sounds of birds in the morning and the howling of coyotes at night.   Only one hour from the tumbler ridge geopark, home to the world's most beautiful waterfalls within a relatively small area, the hills, mountains and valleys around the town contain a remarkable variety of geological features.  An outdoors person’s paradise. World-class dinosaur trackways and fossils have led to BC’s only vertebrate research center being established within the geopark.  Take an adventure or go at your own pace and experience one of the most unique places in the world.  Dawson Creek is also home to the Fall Fair, Rodeo, World Pro Chuckwagons and Parade the second weekend in August. Attracting more than 30,000 people it is Dawson Creek's most popular event. The Fair has many events such as talent contests, horticulture, baking, small animals and a lot more. The Rodeo has barrel racing, roping, reining, cutting and much more. The Pony chuckwagons and pro chucks bring in over 6000 people a day and are home to some of the biggest stars such as the Sutherlands, the Flats, Troy Dorchester and so many others.  The area is home to many monuments and historic sites and routes related to the building of the Alaska Highway. In Dawson Creek places are still recognizable such as old military buildings and the old grain elevator that is now at the visitor center. As you travel north 30km from Dawson Creek you can visit the Kiskatinaw Curved which has an amazing nine-degree curve – a curve that PRA engineers designed to accommodate the highway’s steep change in grade on the west end and the need to land at a notch in the cliff on the east end. At the time in 1942, it was the first wooden curved bridge to be built in Canada. The Kiskatinaw Curved Bridge is one of the many cool things you can see on your way up the Alaska Highway.
