We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

I do have a site map that I will post in the photos. We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace & quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for neighbours to hear. Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest & bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise. Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer & fall & world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just 5 or so minutes away. You can ATV right out of our gate onto unlimited logging roads and trails or hike the Trans Canada Trail 3 blocks from our gate. There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the picnic shelter. There is a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for protection due to a drop-off and undercut banks. ATV's are idle in - idle out. QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them and not leave them unattended. LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights. CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times! FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full & is available between 9 AM and 8 PM. WATER: We do have a non-potable water tap in the park. I'm not allowed to say that the water at the waterfall/creek is good water - so I won't. BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef jerky for sale (this cow was treated as a pet until her time & was dispatched on the farm to avoid stress). We occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens. Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! The gate must be kept closed because of them.

If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favourite blanket or bed to sleep on. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended. The Portal has internet and spotty cell service. There is an outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. Please note that camp stoves (propane) are permitted at the campsites. If you would like to enjoy a log fire, the communal fire pit near the cabins offers an opportunity to enjoy a wood burning fire when local fire bans are lifted. Please contact the host for details if you cannot locate fire bans. Raysong is located on 7 green acres 10 minutes from public beach access on the Salish Sea, waterfront walkway with food trucks and restaurants and central to Qualicum Beach, Coombs, Bowser, Horne Lake Caves and the inland highway scenic route. Travelling the Island? We are a convenient mid route stopover if you are travelling to Lasqueti, Denman, Hornby, Texada Islands and Cortes & the Discovery Island Group. Travelling through to Tofino, Ucluelet and the Pacific Rim National Park? This is a quiet forested residential area in Sinixt territory. Recommended activities include floating down the river, canoeing the lake, hiking or climbing in Valhalla Park, soaking in Halfway Hot Springs or indulging in Nelson. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. This valley has many outdoor activities and events and a very interesting history and culture including Sinixt, Doukhobor, Cannabis and Conscientious Objector. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Emerald Pools. Supplies and services are available nearby including firewood, toiletries, dog day care, massage, bike and canoe rentals, life jackets, rubber dingys and paddles etc. Let us know if you would like a referral to any of these services. There are many guides available for activities in the area including (water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis, garden tours and native history). You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy. The Vallican Whole Community Centre also has events nearby.

Weekend Trip to The Camp at Kitchensink Farm

Hmm. Alright, here’s a polished version you could post: We had such a wonderful stay at Kitchen Sink Farm and can’t recommend it enough. The campground was spotless, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up. Our RV had a brand new queen mattress that was super comfortable, a small stove that worked great, and a picnic table with an awning, chairs, and a cozy yard where we enjoyed meals and stargazed. The hot shower was excellent, and we loved the little touches, like the honesty station with shampoos and soaps. What truly made the stay special were the people. Communication was always prompt and warm, and Yvonne kindly gave us a tour of the sanctuary, introducing us to each of the animals —horses, cows, pigs, goats, geese, ducks, chickens, and more. That was a highlight of the trip. We were also touched by the beautiful Kitchen Sink Farm glass water bottles they gave each of us, a thoughtful gesture that reflects the kindness of the people who run it. Knowing that the campsite supports a nonprofit animal sanctuary made it feel even more meaningful. It’s also just minutes from Roberts Creek amenities like the pier and Gumboot Cafe, making it a perfect base for exploring the Sunshine Coast. We stayed two nights as a family and would happily return.

This place was incredibly peaceful. It is a perfect blend of luxury and roughing it: cooking and eating outside but sleeping on luxurious sheets in a comfortable queen size bed. A pit toilet and outdoor wash house but power available and air conditioning!

Hands down this is the most unique Hipcamp you will ever visit! Susan and Tony offer a variety of units. Our cabin was spotlessly clean and fully stocked with essentials and featured its own bathroom. We deeply appreciated their focus on sustainability and loved getting to learn about their earthship design. Between hiking and paddleboarding on the nearby lakes, the location has so much to offer. We 💯 recommend their Hipcamp and are already planning a longer return trip!

Had such a nice stay here! Teepee is exactly as pictured and very nice inside. We had the most comfortable sleeps here!! The view is spectacular!! Outhouse was new and clean and did not smell like an outhouse at all! Smelled of freshly cut wood! You absolutely must stop at the doughnut shop 5 minutes up the street, best doughnut I’ve ever had. Our car couldn’t make it up the hill like others have mentioned but it wasn’t a problem for us bc we travel pretty light. The family was very helpful and her boys offered to help us carry our heavy stuff from the parking lot, which is less than a three minute walk. We can’t wait to come back here next year!!!

Beautiful property, a short drive from "town". Bright stars and quiet. Stayed in the Maple Cabin which was perfect. Short walk to the composting outhouse - remember to bring a head or neck lamp. We weren't there for long so didn't have time to do the tour. Maybe next time

We stayed in the Maple Cabin, nestled beneath a beautiful, large maple tree that provided the perfect amount of shade from the summer sun. The cabin sits right across from Susan’s gorgeous garden, filled with an assortment of plants, flowers, and greenery. Susan was even kind enough to share some freshly picked potatoes with us! The beach is less than a five-minute drive away, where we enjoyed peaceful walks along the shore and the refreshing ocean breeze. The entire property was incredibly peaceful and quiet—the perfect place to slow down and unwind. At night, we were treated to a sky covered in a blanket of stars, which made the experience even more magical. Susan and tony were wonderful host, and we truly enjoyed our stay. 10/10 would recommend the Maple Cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Darcy’s place and would highly recommend it! This was our second visit to the cabin—first in early March when everything was frozen, and again in the summer—and both stays were special in their own unique ways. Darcy is an exceptional host: very responsive and genuinely goes above and beyond. He even took our boys fishing with his son, who is the same age, and they had an amazing time. We truly appreciated his kindness and effort to make our stay memorable. For future guests, we highly recommend renting Darcy’s kayaks if you don’t have your own. Gardom Lake is just a 5-minute drive away and is perfect for a full day of swimming, kayaking/canoeing, and fishing. The cabin itself is cozy and comfortable, with a great hot shower that’s especially appreciated after a day outdoors. In winter, the wood-burning stove made the space extra warm and inviting and added to the charm of the experience. Thank you, Darcy, for being such a welcoming host. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this spot!

Loved newly renovated and well kept cabin, picture did not embrace all the experience you could have at the place. Warm welcoming from the host, 2 bedrooms, living room is spacious, my kids loved feeding animals every morning and evenings. Quiet night out of busy area, close to any other attractions including beaches and hiking trails. Beautiful sunset restaurant was 5 mins away( Shady Rest) , Rathtravor beach was only 25mins away. You can’t compare this place to older and busy accommodation around that area. Goats on the roof and markets are only 15 mins away as well as Cathedral grove. We would love to come back another time!!

It's a great option to just grab the essentials and head off for quick weekend getaway without bringing all of the usual camping gear. Such a wonderful experience staying here. The owners were such lovely people, they even allowed us to extend our stay last minute. We stayed in the smaller cabin and it was perfect. Very comfortable bed and very clean. You have a picnic bench and chairs/table outside your door to hang out and enjoy. The star gazing at night was incredible. It was nice and quiet both nights, it felt like we had the place to ourselves! We would absolutely go back again, and likely will next summer!
