1 night at Strongwater Camping and Cabins

Staying at Strongwater Campground and Cabins was an absolute dream! Shyann is truly one of the kindest people we’ve ever met - she made us feel so welcome and at home. We stayed in the Treehouse cabin, which was adorable and just perfect for our needs. The campground itself is peaceful, well-maintained, and has everything you could need. The amenities were clean and thoughtfully kept, and an added bonus were the sweet animals roaming around to say hello! One of their lovely dogs, Rainney, even came by to visit us while we enjoyed our evening fire - it absolutely made our night. Thank you, Shyann, for your warmth and generosity. It was such a pleasure to meet you, and we will return soon 100%!

Super cute spot! Great access to Whalebone beach and lots of animal friends around the property! The bus itself was very clean and comfortable, made for a wonderful stay with my partner. Would come back!

1 night at Strongwater Camping and Cabins

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay in the treehouse cabin. The treehouse is tucked away in a rainforest and makes for a very cozy vibe. The warm showers in the wash house were so lovely after a nice hike to the nearby Skookumchuck rapids. Cheyenne was easy to talk to and super friendly. The farm animals were a bonus!

Weekend Trip to Tiny Secrets Farm & Retreat

We camped in the bus at Tiny Secrets and loved it so much. It was cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed to cook there. The views were really pretty from the bus door and the property was gorgeous to just walk around with our dog. Bit of a learning curve using compost toilets for the first time but there were helpful instructions in the washroom. Staff were friendly and helpful and there was useful info in the bus about the property too. We loved staying here, thank you. 💛

What a sweet and magical place to stay. The spaces have everything you need to be cozy. The bed is very comfortable. All the flowers were blooming around the patio, and it's just a short walk to the ocean. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks Paige!

Weekend Trip to Escape to Golden Ears Glamping

An absolute dream little getaway! Such an incredibly beautiful spot, and only an hour out of vancouver. Cosy tent with all the facilities you need, and not even the pouring rain could dampen our experience. Greg and Shelley were super friendly and helpful. Absolutely will be recommending to our friends and hopefully stay here again ourselves in the future :)

We loved staying at the bunkhouse. The whole family is generous, kind, and welcoming. We had a cozy rainy weekend, slept amazing in the comfiest bed, played the available games, and enjoyed simple but delicious local food. The farm fresh eggs are out of this world. The property is a special, peaceful place cared for by good people. Would recommend!

2 nights at Island Gertie

I really enjoyed this little bus, perfect for solo traveller, very cozy and simple and lovely, I used the bbq and the stove inside was great for tea and coffee and simple things. Used the bathroom and kitchen in main house for clean up, a short walk and vignettes of a living pottery studio make it unique . i would stay again, thanks Paige

This was a nice little oasis away from home. The camper was cozy and had a nice little patio. The dogs were able to roam free and absolutely loved not having to be tied to a leash the entire weekend. The place was a 2 minute walk to a nice long beach. The bathroom was shared and not so clean but I looked at it as if I was camping (glamping) so was happy to have somewhere to shower and use the toilet.

The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out. The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away. There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets. The home itself has a pottery studio on the main floor with a full time studio Practice. Give Paige a ring if you’d like a tour, she’s usually working away. Our family lives on the top floor. Outside the bus is are lush veggie gardens, fruit trees and a nice private outdoor dining area. A BBQ and solar lights also help with evening hangouts. Family friendly! Also we love animals but we ask that you clean up after your pet and keep any animals that aren’t so great with kids and other animals on leash. We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

We have 3 accommodations offerings here on HipCamp: (1) Tent camping in the fenced forest meadow (2) Car camping at selected sites around the farm (3) The Barn Loft private guest suite {The Camping Meadow} The meadow is a 1/2 acre fully-fenced, flat forest dell. There is a water spigot and an electrical outlet for charging devices at the west gate (that's across from your entry point). It can host up to 12 people total. West Saanich Road can be a bit loud at night in the summer. If you have sensitive hearing, we encourage earplugs and/or camping at the farthest west end of the meadow. {Car Camping around the Farm} We've received lots of requests for car camping so we've created several little nooks in and around forest and meadow spots on the farm. If these are all booked, you are welcome to still book the tent camping meadow and sleep in your vehicle, but please note that vehicle cannot enter the fenced camping meadow. {Shared Washroom} The washroom is the shared washroom on the farm inside the farmhouse on the ground/basement floor, with a flush toilet and luxury shower. Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave. In a cedar grove, nestled among the ferns, a lotus belle tent awaits you. A unique bed and breakfast in an off-grid tent. Inside the belle tent there is a comfortable double bed with clean sheets, plump pillows, and a warm Pendelton blanket. A 'west coast homestead basket' with granola, fruit ,and farm eggs is provided for a nutritious breakfast. A Berkey water filter provides delicious water from our mountain well. Inside the tent, a comfortable chair looks out over the mossy forest toward the creek. There is room to stretch, and a couple of yoga mats to use. A stretch is especially nice after exploring the nearby trails through Mount Maxwell forest. The trails take through a varied and fascinating forest. Along the way are mossy knolls with vistas of the valley, ocean, and Vancouver Island. One trail leads all the way to Burgyone Bay. The belle is an off-grid seasonal tent with electric candles for lighting and a composting toilet. At night there are solar string lights--should you want them--which illuminate the path to the tent. On clear nights, turn the lights off to star-gaze through the branches.

Lucinda features all the comforts of home snugly assembled in one cozy room. Great for a quick stop, weekend stay, or fun alternative place to have a break. Lucinda has a toaster, tea kettle, pots, cast-iron pan, and all your basic kitchen needs. Feel free to use the stove-top to heat something up or call in a meal with SkipTheDishes or DoorDash. You can adjust the thermostat to your liking, and the MaxxFan air vent works like an A/C on summer nights to keep you comfortable. Lucinda has a small table for meals or working on your laptop. The bed is a small full-size bed and can accommodate one adult or two slender adults who like to be close together 😉. You can stretch out comfortably at a length of 6’3”. Due to the size of the trailer, it may not be suitable for children. There is not currently a TV, but you will have access to WiFi, so be sure to bring your laptop to cuddle up and watch your favorite shows or movies in bed! The bathroom is, frankly, a fairy-sized wet room – Lucinda is economical like that. It will give you a decent shower though and we provide bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet is flushable, and we provide RV toilet paper that is made specifically for our RV plumbing system. The water heater works well and heats up pretty quickly. However, it is a standard RV water heater which means you'll have about 5-6 minutes of hot water until it heats up again. The shower head has a stop button to control water usage while you are showering. Lastly, please do not be surprised that Lucinda is small; she is small. However, we find her to be a comfortable resting place. -Guest access- You may use the outdoor areas located directly outside of the RV but please respect the area around the adjacent private residence as off limits.

McAllister Creek Farm is pleased to offer a unique and rustic country stay in our 24’ Yurt, Log Cabin Bunkhouse and Gypsy Wagon overlooking the pond. The yurt sleeps 3-4 with a king sized bed and futon, the Log Cabin sleeps 3 with a bunk-bed that pulls out to a double on the bottom bunk. Accommodations include the use of the Gypsy Wagon that serves as the Kitchen with full-size fridge, convection/air fryer oven, 2 electric burners and all kitchen accessories. Outside is a bbq and propane firepit. The washroom building includes an outhouse and shower with a view of the pond. Please note if you book either the Yurt or the Log Cabin there is a chance the other is occupied by other guests and the Washroom Building and Gypsy Wagon Kitchen will be shared. It’s a wonderful space to drink in nature and create some well-deserved peace and tranquility. You are welcome to stroll on the path along the pond around the farm and hang out with the herd of friendly goats and visit with the Scottish Highland Coos. For a limited time only there are lots of baby goats to cuddle! Your neighbours in the adjoining pasture Stanley and Ollie the resident donkeys will be your wakeup call. Let us know if you'd like to participate in any of the daily activities and we'll be happy to have you come along with us. The Yellowpoint area has a lot of great parks and features, within a short drive you can check out Yellowpoint Park for a nice walk through the woods, and if you want to see the ocean, Roberts Memorial Park, Cable Bay Trail and Blue Heron Park are all quite spectacular. Blue Heron is great for swimming in the heat of the summer as well, quite rocky so take water shoes. Exploring a bit farther away will take you to the top of Mt Benson in Nanaimo (a 900m hike) or WildPlay Nanaimo has a fun filled day of adventure courses. Local farm stands and artisans are in abundance. The Cedar Market just a few kms away has a great farmers market on Sundays and Duncan has their Farmers Market on Saturdays. Nearby restaurants are the Wheatsheaf Pub a local favourite located 12 mins away by car in the neighbouring community of Cedar. The Cranberry Arms pub is a bit further down the road from the Wheatsheaf and is great for a casual bite. The Crow and Gate is a very short drive away and is famous for its English pub charm. The Mahle House in Cedar is a higher end restaurant and Coco's Cafe is a great spot for a coffee or lunch.
