A magical experience awaits you on the majestic Sunshine Coast of British Columbia near the Village of Egmont. Nestle into our modern rustic cabins or set up camp beneath the towering evergreens. We, your hosts, and our yard-full of farm friends live just up the hill, but we sneak out often to welcome our guests. Strongwater Camping and Cabins offers bookings year-round. Choose from our 8 rustic cabins or 8 large campsites to accommodate your next relaxing get-away or refreshing retreat. Bookings are usually a 2-night minimum. 1-night may be available at the discretion of the Hosts. New to our accommodations are the SkookumBus and a Glamping Tent (summer only)! Our hand-built cabins provide a simply magical experience, with warm, comfy beds and bedside table, a fan for summer or a heater for winter. Nearly every cabin features a small table and chairs and a mini-fridge plus an outdoor fire pit and a picnic table. The cabins’ decks are surrounded by forest. Firewood is available for $30/wheelbarrow on site when available (unless we have a fire ban.) All campsites include the fire pit and picnic table. Everyone has easy access to the spa-like washrooms with coin-operated hot showers and flush toilets. Children 8 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult in the Wash house. There’s a dish washing station in the center of the Wash House where you can refill your water jugs and bottles or wash dishes. Please do not use for washing hair or laundry or tooth brushing. We ask that you conserve water and keep the Wash House clean. If a peaceful experience is what you seek, enjoy the restful, soothing atmosphere of the forest. Learn to really appreciate the simple things in life. Take in the mountain, ocean, and lake scenery. Fishing, canoeing, or just lying on a beach. Sitting on the deck of your cozy cabin, reading a book or soaking in the magic. If you are a thrill-seeker, then adventure awaits on the turbulent waters of Skookumchuk Narrows, the rapids for which our magical place is named. Skookumchuk is an old Chinook word meaning Strong Waters. There’s a timetable for you to consult to catch the tides at the best times. Follow the link below. Hit some rigorous trails on your mountain bike, hike through forests, up mountains, or at oceanside. Take a wild ride to untouched wilderness with our neighbouring Adventure Boat Tours.

Climb the natural rock steps to Cabin 1 Treehouse with a deck overlooking the forest. The path is uneven, but completely natural with ivy, moss and other greenery lining the sides. This cabin is next to the Wash House with two washrooms and a central dish-washing station. Double French doors open to your choice of two twin beds or a king-size with bedside tables and lamps. A small table and two chairs and a mini-fridge. An electric kettle for coffee, tea or soup. In summer a fan blows over the bed and out the large windows and doors. In winter an electric heater plugs in to warm the cabin. The treehouse features a balcony with table and chairs with a gorgeous view into the forest and over the campground. Sitting with coffee on the balcony listening to the farm creatures, not traffic. Enjoy the picnic table and firepit or the hammock to relax in while looking up through the leaves.

Cabin 4 - "The Fairy Cabin"

The Fairy Cabin (#4) is a popular one for its seclusion and tranquility. A quiet spot to watch for the wee folk. This quiet cabin faces into the forest and away from the other cabins and campsites. A great place for two people to build or strengthen a relationship. Step up onto the deck using the rock in front. The deck faces the trees, the fire pit and picnic table. This is a private site that calls to the heart that seeks the soothing greens of the forest and the dancing of the fairies. Relax in the chairs and meditate on the beauty of nature or find the hammock and view the sky through the leaves of the trees. Quiet and cozy in a king-size bed or two twin beds with bedside tables and lamps. The cotton sheets and warm comforter give you the impression of a luxury hotel. A small table and chairs, an electric kettle, and a mini-fridge make this rustic bit of paradise comfortable and convenient. A fan for summer and a heater for winter, makes this a lovely spot for respite any time of year.

Loft Two

A ramp lit with fairy lights leads up to Loft 2 which sits atop the structure housing the washrooms. It has a large deck facing the forest and many large windows. The ramp starts behind the Wash House and leads up to the deck at the back. When lit up at night, it is very enchanting as well as convenient. The deck is furnished with two chairs and an umbrella-covered table plus two Adirondack chairs that face into the forest. Completely secluded and peaceful. A queen-size bed dressed in cotton sheets and a warm comforter, as sumptuous as any hotel room. The large peaked windows offer so much light into the room. The cozy accoutrements include bedside tables, lamps, a table and chairs, an electric kettle, and a mini-fridge.

Cabin 2 Treehouse

Cabin 2 is a Tree House is set back in the forest providing privacy and solitude. The natural rock staircase is rugged, but the view from the deck is green, soothing and well worth it. The rock steps are steep and uneven, naturally fitting in with the ivy and moss growing parallel to the path. Such a serene view awaits on the balcony. You can also look down on the picnic table and fire pit that are part of this lovely site. Inside the queen-size bed, cotton sheets and warm comforter are very restorative. Large windows and double doors allow in lots of light. A mini-fridge, electric kettle, and small table and chairs are the furnishings within the cabin. A fan for cooling in summer and a heater to warm you in winter provide you with a comfortable temperature.

Cabin 3 "Heaven"

Cabin 3 was named “Heaven” by one of our guests and we agree. It is a private cabin on a beautiful serene site with heavenly views of the forest. The soft outdoor lighting at night is peaceful and romantic. This cabin sits up from the road through the campground and is the closest to the Wash House in a group of three. Such a lovely perch! Just step up from the rock in front onto the deck or take the stairs on the side. Two deck chairs and a coffee table offer a place to relax on the deck. A fire pit and picnic table are off to the side. The interior is homey and inviting. A king-size bed can be split into two twins. The cabin contains bedside tables, lamps, a small table with chairs, an electric kettle to make coffee or tea, and a mini-fridge. This is our largest cabin. It can be set up with a couple of additional cots or sleeping bags on the floor. A fan keeps you cool in summer while a heater cozies the cabin in winter.

Cabin 6 - A Small Treasure

Cabin 6 is our small treasure. A small quaint cabin with a Dutch-door. Three steps up to the deck that features a charming little bench looking out on the campground and from which you can usually see the farm menagerie out and about. The Paddle Shack is next to Cabin Six and beyond that is the farm with all its free-range ducks, chickens, and of course, Jellybean the Hog and Penelope and Walter, the geese. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the farm instead of the traffic, horns and sirens of the city. So peaceful… You have a captivating fire bowl and a rustic spool table and chairs by the deck. This cabin is quiet and dark, unless you open up the window shades and the top of the door making it cool in summer. You’ll have a mini-fridge, an electric kettle, bedside tables and lamps. A slightly smaller cozy cabin, the table and chairs are on the outside. Look over the maps of the area on the wall!

Such an adorable cabin just down the hill from the washrooms. Perfect for one person or two singles. Right across from the play structure. Easy access onto the deck which offers a bench plus a coffee table and two deck chairs with a fire pit to the side for wiener roasts and s’mores. Snuggle down in this cute little cabin equipped with two twin beds, a bedside table, lamps, and a table and chairs. It also has an electric kettle to heat the water for your coffee or tea, a mini-fridge and a fan or a heater to keep you comfy depending on the season.

Cabin 5 - "Lightning"

Cabin 5 was named “Lightning” when lightning actually struck close by. Now calm and peaceful, it is a quaint and cozy place to enjoy the forest. The “Lightning Cabin” is open to Campsites 10 and 11 so groups can be together. The covered deck with two chairs and a small table would be a great place to meet for morning coffee. After dark, the cabins are well-lit with fairy lights. Such a peaceful place to sit outside in the daylight or after dark. Bring your own campstove or BBQ and set up at the picnic table. Strongwater is where rustic and elegant meet. You can request two twin beds or one king-size to get your rest after a day of outdoor adventure. Keep food & drinks in the mini-fridge. Heat water for tea or coffee. The small table and chair set a nice little nook for eating indoors or reading or doing a little work on your laptop.

Cheyenne was an amazing host, just like the other reviews said. She welcomed my brother and myself and gave us awesome accommodations! It is a fun place to stay- lively and clean, great location, has everything you need. Would stay there again!

Lovely but not private
Cabin 4 - "The Fairy Cabin"
We stayed at the cabin for 2 nights. We really liked some things and did not enjoy others. Among positives are comfort of the bed, it is super spacious with good firm mattress, design of the cabin and its deck with a hammock was very practical with a touch of good taste. The outhouse with common washing area and toilets/showers were decently cleaned. However, things that we felt was misleading are the privacy of all accommodations and the property size. Proximity of everything (tent areas, cabins maybe 6-7 in total (scattered throughout), RV sites) was so close that I accidentally almost left the premises after dark coming back from the showers, not realizing how close all things were. We picked “the most private cabin” there according to the description. After arrival, quickly realized our cabin just next to other one only steps apart, on other side there was 3d cabin and other tenting area. Our table outside was facing other table belonged to the tent site, so in my view it can’t be called private. And of course all guests voices and noises were heard all over that imo small area. This connects to the second point of the size of the property. It describes as a good acreage but in reality relatively small part is under campers use/ reach. To summarize : the lack of privacy was the biggest disappointment. Otherwise, lovely stay with some minor nuances don’t worth even mentioning.

We had the best experience at strongwater cabins. The cabins are cozy and picturesque, with all the essentials. An electric kettle and mini fridge made our experience so much better, since we were able to store our food and enjoy hot drinks on the chilly autumn nights. The cabin comes with an electric fireplace that kept us perfectly toasty as well. Hot showers and clean bathrooms and area to wash our dishes was so convenient! Cheyenne has put her heart into the property and it shows. The hosts are super accommodating! We even got to use their canoe and paddle out on Waugh Lake, and check out their infrared sauna. The cherry on top is the delightful animals that live on the property. Geese, chickens, mini ponies, guinea fowl, and more. We explored the Skookumchuck trail and checked out the amazing whirlpools. Every inch of this forest is beautiful, made better by our time at the cabin. We will absolutely return! A 10/10 experience.

The best treehouse
Loft Two
This was our second time staying at Strongwater, we just love it so much. The treehouse vibe is so cozy and relaxing. Cheyenne is great to communicate with and is always so accommodating. We will be back again for sure.

Perfect Mini Getaway

We LOVED staying at Cheyenne's Treehouse Cabin. We stayed in cabin 2 for 2 nights and it was pure perfection. It truly felt like you were in a treehouse among the trees. The whole property was gorgeous and miraculously upkept. The heater kept the cabin warm at night, towels and loonies for showers were provided. Close to Skookumchuk Narrows and Skookumchuk Bakery and Cafe (the cinnamon buns are a MUST). Would absolutely recommend for a friend.

Sleep in the forest!
Cabin 2 Treehouse
I loved being up in the forest, waking up surrounded by trees. The double doors that open up to the front deck make the whole room feel a part of the outside world which was amazing! Sitting on the deck reading and enjoying a glass of wine was spectacular! Friendly hosts who run a great pizza truck and serve ice cream! Short walk to the harbor and trail to Skookumchuck Narrows. A truly beautiful piece of this magical part of the Sunshine Coast!

Egmont Gem with Cozy Vibes
Cabin 6 - A Small Treasure
I originally booked just one night at Strongwater as a stopover before my boat tour to Princess Louisa Inlet—but I was so pleasantly surprised! Cabin 6 was adorable, super clean, and very comfortable. It had everything I needed, including power and a fan, and I didn’t mind the short walk to the wash house, which was spotless and charmingly rustic. The location couldn’t be better—just minutes from the Backeddy Marina and directly across from the trailhead to the stunning Skookumchuck Narrows. I was lucky to catch the XL tides and watch the powerful, rushing water—it was absolutely incredible. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and discovering the Skookumbus food bus onsite (with delicious pizza and ice cream) was the cherry on top. My only complaint is that I didn’t stay longer. I would have loved time for a paddle on Brown Lake or to hang out with the friendly farm animals. A fantastic spot for a weekend getaway or solo escape!

Cheyenne & Dwayne made us feel right at home. We plan on having a family reunion there because it’s absolutely beautiful, between the ocean, the lake, and the rapids you couldn’t ask for more.

What an amazing few days!! Would have to say my experience was 12/10! Cheyenne was so incredibly genuine and helpful- my boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and she let us use her canoe for the day. That will be an experience I’ll never forget! The cabin we stayed in was even better than I’d anticipated- extremely clean, so cozy and loved that there was a fridge and a deck to eat at. I would recommend this to anyone- there is so much to do around it’s really lovely

Cabin 3 "Heaven"
This was an absolutely magical experience! We stayed in Cabin 4 and felt very comfortable. The cabin is well insulated—we could not hear any of our neighbors once we went in. All the bedding and towels smelled great, the bathrooms and showers were very well kept, and there is a lot to do nearby. We enjoyed taking out a provided canoe on Waugh Lake and ate a nice lunch at the Backeddy Pub nearby which is bayside and really lovely. All walkable which says a lot with a toddler like us! We enjoyed getting ice cream, visiting animals including ponies and geese, and looking through a library for kiddos, all on site! Of all the great parts of our stay, Cheyenne was the star. She was kind, gracious, and very easy to talk to. A good host like her makes it all! Thank you, Cheyenne and co! We will certainly be back for a longer stay. 🌞

Cozy cabin with lots of privacy. We enjoyed sitting on the porch after our hike. Bring some loonies for the shower - we only thought of it at the last minute and we didn't find a stash of loonies in Egwater...

Loft Two Cabin-A woodsy fairy tale
Loft Two
Cheyenne is a beautiful soul. My best friend at I stayed in the “Loft Two” Cabin for one magical night. The hobby farm was so peaceful and designed with love. Our cabin was a little peace of heaven, washrooms were beautiful, animals were delightful and the skookumchuck bakery cafe down the street was delicious. Highly recommend walking to the skookumchuck rapids and watching the kayakers!

We fully enjoyed our stay at Strongwater Campground! The cabin was clean and comfortable, and had everything we could need, including a heater, fan, and mini fridge. The campground felt safe and everyone was super friendly. The washrooms were all very clean, including showers, which required loonies to operate. We recommend doing the Skookumchuck trail (8km round trip) and visiting the Seafood food truck and the bakery! Overall, the campground was very charming and cute, and we would fully recommend a stay here.

Cabin 2 Treehouse
Staying at Strongwater Campground and Cabins was an absolute dream! Shyann is truly one of the kindest people we’ve ever met - she made us feel so welcome and at home. We stayed in the Treehouse cabin, which was adorable and just perfect for our needs. The campground itself is peaceful, well-maintained, and has everything you could need. The amenities were clean and thoughtfully kept, and an added bonus were the sweet animals roaming around to say hello! One of their lovely dogs, Rainney, even came by to visit us while we enjoyed our evening fire - it absolutely made our night. Thank you, Shyann, for your warmth and generosity. It was such a pleasure to meet you, and we will return soon 100%!

Cozy cabin amongst the trees

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay in the treehouse cabin. The treehouse is tucked away in a rainforest and makes for a very cozy vibe. The warm showers in the wash house were so lovely after a nice hike to the nearby Skookumchuck rapids. Cheyenne was easy to talk to and super friendly. The farm animals were a bonus!

What a charming, thoughtful campsite! Highly recommend for a camping experience with a good washroom, coin-shower, and washing station. Our cabin (#4) was SO comfortable in the rain, with a very comfortable bed, and thoughtful details like twin bedside lamps, lots of hooks inside to hang your clothes, and more outside which were great for our raincoats. Never got to use the picnic table as it was pouring on our trip, but we were so warm & cosy inside. (Important to note: even in peak season most things in the area close on Mondays, so plan accordingly.)

It was much smaller than the pictures made it seem. And your literally grazing the cabin next to you. Absolutely no privacy and had two screaming kids in the site next to us, which made things less than desirable. The hosts were very nice and helpful, and the bathrooms and dish washing house were very nice....if you stay here, get a cabin.
