We strive to provide a place to enjoy the peace & quiet of nature, so it's not a place to party or have music loud enough for neighbours to hear.
Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest & bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise.
Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer & fall & world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just 5 or so minutes away. You can ATV right out of our gate onto unlimited logging roads and trails or hike the Trans Canada Trail 3 blocks from our gate.
There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the picnic shelter. There is a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for protection due to a drop-off and undercut banks.
ATV's are idle in - idle out.
QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them and not leave them unattended.
LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights.
CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times!
FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full & is available between 9 AM and 8 PM.
WATER: We do have a non-potable water tap in the park. I'm not allowed to say that the water at the waterfall/creek is good water - so I won't.
BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef jerky for sale (this cow was treated as a pet until her time & was dispatched on the farm to avoid stress). We occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens.
Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! The gate must be kept closed because of them.

There is a fancy outhouse that flushes water and is equipped with a sink. This space is best suited for a single, a couple, and possibly a fur baby and/or little one.
We are located on a quiet residential street 20 minutes from Port Alberni and en route to Tofino or Ucluelet. We have walking and mountain biking trails minutes from the house.
If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favourite blanket or bed to sleep on. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended.
The Portal has internet and spotty cell service. There is an outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. Call Doordash to deliver a meal from one of our local restaurants, such as Sproat Lake Landing, or bring a picnic to enjoy.

This is a quiet forested residential area in Sinixt territory. Recommended activities include floating down the river, canoeing the lake, hiking or climbing in Valhalla Park, soaking in Halfway Hot Springs or indulging in Nelson. This valley has many outdoor activities and events and a very interesting history and culture including Sinixt, Doukhobor, Cannabis and Conscientious Objector. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Emerald Pools.
Supplies and services are available nearby including firewood, toiletries, dog day care, massage, bike and canoe rentals, life jackets, rubber dingys and paddles etc. Let us know if you would like a referral to any of these services. There are many guides available for activities in the area including (water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis, garden tours and native history). You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy. The Vallican Whole Community Centre also has events nearby.

Welcome to 28 acres of forests, mountains, creeks, a river and all that comes with it!
We live in a little off-grid cabin deep in the Yalakom Valley in a small community of rustic-living and friendly folks. Please note that this property is located 40 km outside of Lillooet. Part of the road is a dirt road and a bit bumpy, best for cars that don't mind roughing it a little bit, and best for people who don't fear cliffs. You also lose service 5 minutes outside of Lillooet.
The property is surrounded by one other large private lot on one side and some steep crown land on the other. You can explore our lot down to the river or you can drive to other locations like the Horseshoe (a great swim spot), Carpenter Lake (great for swimming, too), Lac La Mere (good for fishing), Carol Lake, and much more.
All sites are located 150-200 feet away from our main house and share the same outhouse. However, it is unlikely for us to have more than one site booked the same time, so there is ample privacy.
This is a somewhat rustic and rugged spot- if you are looking for fancy glamping this is not the space for you! Vancouverites, you've been warned!

Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know!
Our property is located in Peachland, BC. Positioned midway between Kelowna and Pentiction, it is the perfect location to draw from both population centres and is well-positioned to act as a hub for popular wine and other agri-tourism activities. Peachland is within easy reach of over 200 estate wineries and microbreweries.

Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. Bring your bike and coast down the hill to the Galloping Goose bike trail, go swimming at Matheson Lake, plunge into the Sooke Potholes, or visit one of the many beautiful farm stands in Metchosin.
Our property sits on two acres of Douglas fir forest and Garry Oak meadow. Camas Creek runs under a little bridge as you enter our lane. Watch for woodpeckers, ravens and birds of all types here.
Metchosin is a Dark Skies certified community, so star gazing is good here, while still being close to Victoria!

such a beautiful, quaint little stay! this was the perfect getaway for my husband and i’s anniversary weekend. the cabin was cozy and stocked with everything we needed. the highlight was being able to gather fresh produce from all the nearby farms and enjoy a peaceful breakfast in the woods.

This place was incredibly peaceful. It is a perfect blend of luxury and roughing it: cooking and eating outside but sleeping on luxurious sheets in a comfortable queen size bed. A pit toilet and outdoor wash house but power available and air conditioning!

Hands down this is the most unique Hipcamp you will ever visit! Susan and Tony offer a variety of units. Our cabin was spotlessly clean and fully stocked with essentials and featured its own bathroom. We deeply appreciated their focus on sustainability and loved getting to learn about their earthship design. Between hiking and paddleboarding on the nearby lakes, the location has so much to offer. We 💯 recommend their Hipcamp and are already planning a longer return trip!

Beautiful property, a short drive from "town". Bright stars and quiet. Stayed in the Maple Cabin which was perfect. Short walk to the composting outhouse - remember to bring a head or neck lamp. We weren't there for long so didn't have time to do the tour. Maybe next time

My 11 year old son and I had a great stay. We had the pleasure of watching the meteor showers from the cabins little porch! We stayed in the Maple Cabin, nestled beneath a beautiful, large maple tree that provided the perfect amount of shade from the summer sun. The cabin sits right across from Susan’s gorgeous garden, filled with an assortment of plants, flowers, and greenery. Susan was even kind enough to share some freshly picked potatoes with us!
The beach is less than a five-minute drive away, where we enjoyed peaceful walks along the shore and the refreshing ocean breeze.
The entire property was incredibly peaceful and quiet—the perfect place to slow down and unwind. At night, we were treated to a sky covered in a blanket of stars, which made the experience even more magical.
Susan and tony were wonderful host, and we truly enjoyed our stay. 10/10 would recommend the Maple Cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Darcy’s place and would highly recommend it! This was our second visit to the cabin—first in early March when everything was frozen, and again in the summer—and both stays were special in their own unique ways.
Darcy is an exceptional host: very responsive and genuinely goes above and beyond. He even took our boys fishing with his son, who is the same age, and they had an amazing time. We truly appreciated his kindness and effort to make our stay memorable.
For future guests, we highly recommend renting Darcy’s kayaks if you don’t have your own. Gardom Lake is just a 5-minute drive away and is perfect for a full day of swimming, kayaking/canoeing, and fishing.
The cabin itself is cozy and comfortable, with a great hot shower that’s especially appreciated after a day outdoors. In winter, the wood-burning stove made the space extra warm and inviting and added to the charm of the experience.
Thank you, Darcy, for being such a welcoming host. We would absolutely stay again and highly recommend this spot!

Andrew’s place was great. So quiet, cozy and right beside the lake. After a lot of camping, it was nice to have a roof over our heads, but still have that camping feel. The host’s were very friendly, kind and helpful.

Loved newly renovated and well kept cabin, picture did not embrace all the experience you could have at the place. Warm welcoming from the host, 2 bedrooms, living room is spacious, my kids loved feeding animals every morning and evenings. Quiet night out of busy area, close to any other attractions including beaches and hiking trails.
Beautiful sunset restaurant was 5 mins away( Shady Rest) , Rathtravor beach was only 25mins away. You can’t compare this place to older and busy accommodation around that area.
Goats on the roof and markets are only 15 mins away as well as Cathedral grove.
We would love to come back another time!!

Such a wonderful experience staying here. The owners were such lovely people, they even allowed us to extend our stay last minute. We stayed in the smaller cabin and it was perfect. Very comfortable bed and very clean. You have a picnic bench and chairs/table outside your door to hang out and enjoy. The star gazing at night was incredible. It was nice and quiet both nights, it felt like we had the place to ourselves! We would absolutely go back again, and likely will next summer!

I loved staying at this cabin. It was private very well maintained with a new outhouse and outdoor shower. It was close to several lakes and only 5 to 10 minutes from stores if you needed anything. Darcy was super polite and there to show us everything about the cabin. The A/C was a bonus for the hot weather.
My daughter loved the loft to sleep in. Like an indoor tree fort for her.
We look forward to going back for another stay.
