Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know!

This property was purchased nearly half a century ago. For the majority of this time the forest section you will be camping in was left undeveloped, apart from a few mountain bike trails. Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about.
Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave.

The Portal is 18 feet long and 8 feet wide and is your very own private space. There is a fancy new outhouse that flushes water and is equipped with a sink. This space is best suited for a single, a couple, and possibly a fur baby and/or little one.
We are located on a quiet residential street 20 minutes from Port Alberni and en route to Tofino or Ucluelet. We have walking and mountain biking trails minutes from the house.
If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favorite blanket or bed to sleep on. We can also provide a comfy hound bed in the room at your request. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended.
The Portal has no internet and reception is spotty. There is one outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. Call Doordash to deliver a meal from one of our local restaurants, such as Sproat Lake Landing, or bring a picnic to enjoy.

A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful.
We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents.
There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna!
The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away!
Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed.

Our ranch is on Gun Lake Road, close to Tyax Lake, 30 minutes from Gold Bridge and Bralorne. It is about 2 hours west of Lillooet or north of Pemberton (6 hours from Vancouver) on a remote road with paved and gravel sections and no cell service.
There is no cell service or TV at our location. Wi‑Fi is usually available but cannot be guaranteed due to weather and other natural factors outside our control. We have access to a landline if urgent calls need to be made.
You are responsible for leaving the cabin/your room and the area around it clean and free of food and garbage. Each guest is responsible for cleaning the cabins when they leave, such as doing the laundry, washing all dishes. At the end of your stay, please bring all garbage to the main house so we do not attract critters and bears.
We live in a true wilderness environment. The cabin water system uses filtered creek water and, though not common, there is always the possibility for water pressure to fluctuate.
Weather and other variables can change quickly in the mountains. We expect guests to approach challenges with a positive, solution‑oriented mindset and to be respectful of nature, other guests and our team. We are experienced in dealing with nature’s challenges and will find a solution together.

ELECTRICITY: The cabins have no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns and flashlights.
WATER FUN: The cabin is RIGHT ON THE WATER and in the summer we have dock for jumping off of or launching a boat. We have kayaks, floaties and paddle boards available on a first come first served basis. Boat rental with 6.5 HP motor also available for $99 a day. Ice fishing is excellent in the winter.
WE PROVIDE: dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, cooking pots and some utensils.
YOU NEED TO BRING: whatever you need for sleeping (bags or blankets and sheets, pillows), food, drinking water, and personal items such as towels and toiletries. Firewood and water (from the lake) for washing is provided. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables. Town is an hour away.
CHECK-OUT: Please leave the cabin clean and tidy and pack out all your garbage and left-over food.
ACCESS: We are located 50 km down a logging road and we advise access only by 4-wheel drive vehicles although many cars have made it in the summer.
In the winter, access is an ice road. Drivable but slippery.
We request that you call/email when you hit the gravel road 50 km away so we know when to expect you.
You have access to the lodge property, lake, dock, trails, grass area and kayaks/floaties/paddle boards when available.

These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. We are located on a quiet residential street 20 minutes from Port Alberni and en route to Tofino or Ucluelet. We have walking and mountain biking trails minutes from the house.
If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favorite blanket or bed to sleep on. We can also provide a comfy hound bed in the room at your request. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended.
The Portal has no internet and reception is spotty. There is one outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. Call Doordash to deliver a meal from one of our local restaurants, such as Sproat Lake Landing, or bring a picnic to enjoy.

A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful.
We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents.
There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna!
The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away!
Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed.

***We cannot stress this enough**: This is very remote. It is truly another world up there and we cannot be there at all times so it is a good idea to have some knowledge and experience in off-grid/backcountry living!

We bought this property in 2008 as raw land with an old off-grid 1950's cabin on it. While the log structure was sound, the cabin needed some major renovations to be liveable. We undertook renovations, lived in it for 6 months and then moved into a yurt on a more accessible section of our property. We now run the cabin as a short term rental, have another small rental next to our house and we are using the yurt for gatherings, retreats and yoga classes!

THIS CABIN IS ACCESSED BY A 0.7 KM HIKING TRAIL ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
Enjoy privacy and be close to nature at the base of Keystone Mountain. Far enough to feel like you are away from it all, close enough to experience all the Kootenays have to offer.
Campfires are permitted when there is no fire ban. We have firewood available to purchase - please add this as an extra at the time of booking.

Our ranch is on Gun Lake Road, close to Tyax Lake, 30 minutes from Gold Bridge and Bralorne. It is about 2 hours west of Lillooet or north of Pemberton (6 hours from Vancouver) on a remote road with paved and gravel sections and no cell service.
There is no cell service or TV at our location. Wi‑Fi is usually available but cannot be guaranteed due to weather and other natural factors outside our control. We have access to a landline if urgent calls need to be made.
You are responsible for leaving the cabin/your room and the area around it clean and free of food and garbage. Each guest is responsible for cleaning the cabins when they leave, such as doing the laundry, washing all dishes. At the end of your stay, please bring all garbage to the main house so we do not attract critters and bears.
We live in a true wilderness environment. The cabin water system uses filtered creek water and, though not common, there is always the possibility for water pressure to fluctuate.
Weather and other variables can change quickly in the mountains. We expect guests to approach challenges with a positive, solution‑oriented mindset and to be respectful of nature, other guests and our team. We are experienced in dealing with nature’s challenges and will find a solution together.

Welcome to the cabins at Wendego Lodge on Tranquille Lake. Enjoy your 100% off-grid, rustic cabin in the middle of the BC wilderness. You are right on the lake with beautiful views and may see bald eagles, osprey and moose.
This is an all-season property: swimming, boating, hiking and quadding in the SUMMER, hunting in the FALL, and ice fishing, snowmobiling (100s of km of trail right from your door) in the WINTER. All year long fish for natural rainbow trout and Kokanee.
This is a rustic 100% off-grid experience! There is no electricity in the cabins and cold running water in the summer.
SLEEPING: The cabin has two bedrooms separated by curtains from the living space and features: One queenTwo single bunksOne double futon
HEATING/COOKING:There is a wood stove for heat and cooking and wood is supplied and cold running water in the summer months. A wood burning BBQ is available for use and a huge upright smoker for your fish haul (bring your own propane cylinder).
BATHROOMS: There are no bathrooms in the cabin. Flush toilets and hot showers are available in the wash house steps away in the summer and in the lodge in the other months.
ELECTRICITY: The cabins have no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns and flashlights.
WATER FUN: The cabin is RIGHT ON THE WATER and in the summer we have dock for jumping off of or launching a boat. We have kayaks, floaties and paddle boards available on a first come first served basis. Boat rental with 6.5 HP motor also available for $99 a day. Ice fishing is excellent in the winter.
WE PROVIDE: dishes, cups, mugs, cutlery, cooking pots and some utensils.
YOU NEED TO BRING: whatever you need for sleeping (bags or blankets and sheets, pillows), food, drinking water, and personal items such as towels and toiletries. Firewood and water (from the lake) for washing is provided. There is no fridge so you will need to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables. Town is an hour away.
CHECK-OUT: Please leave the cabin clean and tidy and pack out all your garbage and left-over food.
ACCESS: We are located 50 km down a logging road and we advise access only by 4-wheel drive vehicles although many cars have made it in the summer.
In the winter, access is an ice road. Drivable but slippery.
We request that you call/email when you hit the gravel road 50 km away so we know when to expect you.
You have access to the lodge property, lake, dock, trails, grass area and kayaks/floaties/paddle boards when available.

Experience a cute little off grid cabin in the beautiful forest setting of Forest Sanctuary Campground in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast, BC. This 350 sq ft simple cabin has a private camping kitchen, wood stove for heat, a futon bed for 2, a couch, small dining table and ambient night time candle and solar lighting. The cabin is situated in the midst of a beautifully landscaped forest setting.
The cabin is off grid and does not have electricity or wifi. There is cell reception. Firewood for the wood stove is complimentary for your first night with a small firewood charge for multiple nights. Lighting at night is by mellow solar lighting and candlelights. Your bathroom is an open air outhouse nearby. Solar showers are seasonal and provided in a private forest setting.
There may be tent campers within the campground in the vicinity.
Please note I am two kms up a well maintained private gravel road.

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin
We had a wonderful stay at Christian's cabin. It was the first weekend of April, and were treated to having the land to ourselves. With it being this early in the year, the cooking/lounging area and outdoors showers were not yet up. I took advantage of the Gibsons community centre showers ($3), as per Christian's suggestion.
Christian is a thoughtful host, providing a tour of the area, lesson on using the woodstove, checking in occasionally, and providing equipment to meet all our needs. Between having no electricity (only solar powered lights), wifi, or plumbing; and access to a clean open air outhouse, water for drinking, hand and dish washing, a wood stove for heat, toasty warm bed, and the sounds of nature, we felt it was the perfect balance between rustic and comfort -- perfect environment to reconnect with nature and ourselves. We loved cooking food on the campfire, watching the stars come out, doing cold dips in the shallow pond, and listening to the distant chorus of frogs. We would recommend bringing indoor slippers for the cabin, tealight candles, flashlights, and cooking oil.
We look forward to coming again and seeing the result of new developments Christian is working on!

The host is so friendly and accommodating. The horse, the goat, the chicken, and the baby ducks were all wonderful.

We had a fabulous stay at the cabin. We loved how everything was milled and built by the owners. It was clean, quiet and so peaceful. We definitely plan to return. The hot pool was HUGE and had a great view of the stars at night. We came prepared with coolers full of ice, cooking utensils and made use of the provided bbq. There was a large fire pit and wood provided, although we ran out of time to have a fire. We enjoyed the wood stove heating and rustic nostalgic feeling.
The outdoor shower and outdoor washroom were clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable and our son loved his space in the upper loft. We appreciate it is pet friendly, although this trip we left our dogs with a sitter :)
This is a little piece of heaven!

We had such a wonderful stay at Michael and Amy’s Lakewood Cabin!
From the moment we arrived, everything felt just right. The creek running beside the cabin was incredibly calming — we could hear it from the deck and it made every moment feel peaceful. The Enchanted Forest walk right nearby was a highlight; it was so serene and beautiful, perfect for clearing your mind. The cabin itself was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, making our stay effortless and comfortable. Directions were excellent and it was very easy to find. Even over spring break, the price was more than reasonable for what we got. The outdoor shower was an absolute treat — liberating, quiet, and surprisingly peaceful with nature all around us. The BBQ worked perfectly, and the firewood was cheap and easy to get if you don’t bring your own. A special memory was meeting Stella the horse — she was so gentle and kind with my children, which made the trip extra magical for the kids. We loved it so much that we’d go back next weekend if we could! We’re already planning our return trip later this year. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-equipped getaway in a beautiful natural setting. So close to town, yet felt hours away.

Michael and his family have an amazing space. It has all the amenities one could need and is quiet and peaceful. Everyone there is extremely friendly but there is enough space between cabins to feel like you have your own personal space if that's what you want. The Enchanted Forest trail is fantastic for all ages and kids will love it! Absolutely recommend! Will definitely be back.

Our 2-night stay was wonderful. The cabin was superb and cozy, making it feel like a true home away from home. The vibe is laid-back, surrounded by nature, and the host was responsive and easy to communicate with. The place is incredibly peaceful—the sound of the creek was so calming and helped us sleep well. Our stay was awesome! We are easy to please I think but it was just what we needed. Simple yet practical. It had everything we needed plus extras. I stayed here with my 5 year old and 2 year old, they absolutely loved the enchanted forest and thought it was pretty cool that Micheal put it all there just for them😅 the loop through the forest was perfect for kids and I loved that it was close to town, thr lake, yet still felt like we were in the middle of no where. Rustic escape! Bring water and keep the fire going.
We stayed three nights at Site #2 (log cabin) in mid-winter. Enjoyed cross-country skiing, ice fishing for trout, and snowshoeing the trails or around the lake. Hosts Melanie and Ray were exceptionally accommodating, and even ploughed the driveway before we departed. The Lodge was cozy, and the sauna was a delight. Would recommend for the rustic experience and the natural beauty of the area. Would return with sleds!

We absolutely loved our stay at Michael’s cabin and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and peaceful getaway. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and thoughtfully prepared.
One of the highlights of our stay was the animals on the property. There’s a horse, a goat, and chickens, which made the experience feel extra special and charming. The horse even walked over to greet us, and that little moment truly made our trip memorable. Our dog also had an amazing time. She was completely comfortable inside the cabin and loved sitting by the window watching the horse. It was such a joy to see her so relaxed and happy.
Even though it’s a small cabin, it has absolutely everything you need. The space is very well equipped, comfortable, and perfect for unwinding. We even had a cozy movie night and felt completely at home the entire time.
The only small recommendation I would add is to bring warm slippers or thick socks if you’re visiting during colder weather. While the heater works well and keeps the cabin warm, the floors can feel quite cold. Aside from that minor detail, everything about our stay was wonderful.
We truly had a lovely experience and would gladly come back again.

Weekend Trip to Moonraker Treehouse & Cabins
Me and a friend stayed in the fox hollow cabin and had an awesome experience! We had troubles getting up and even though Claire and Matt were out of town, they got a hold of their lovely neighbours who gave us a tremendously generous hand! Besides that the view from the front porch is gorgeous and the hut itself is so well kept and has absolutely everything you could need. Even despite the chilly weather we had a great experience.
