We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Hi, my name is Dave. My family and I would like to welcome you to Nile Point, a secluded campsite located on 20 acres of privately owned, oceanfront property on Nelson Island, BC. I consider it the closest thing to paradise. The first you'll need to know about this property is that it's only accessible by boat. This is what makes the campsite so secluded and peaceful. Transportation to and from the island is included with your stay. The stunning 15 minute boat ride to and from Nile Point is one of the many things that makes this a truly unique experience. The second thing you'll need to know is that we offer TWO SITES on the property, a 10x16 TENT PLATFORM and a OCEANFRONT CANVAS TENT WITH ENSUITE (NEW!) with king size bed, in-tent ensuite bathroom and fully stocked outdoor kitchen with potable water, bar fridge and BBQ We have one canoe, one one-person kayak, a two-person kayak, and some paddleboards. Bring your own water exploring devices if you wish. Our beach is rocky (it ain't a sandy beach!), so bring your good water/rock shoes! This is a great place to stay and explore if you love the wild. It's off the grid, so if you want to unplug from devices and do nothing but relax or play in the ocean and explore the forest, it's perfect. That said, there is cell reception should you need it and a solar charger if you need to charge your devices. Egmont offers a pub, a fancy restaurant, and a charming convenience store with wi-fi. We can take you in to town during your stay for an additional charge of 50$ per direction. We've secured exclusive moorage at a private dock in Egmont. This is where you will park. A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

I consider it the closest thing to paradise. The first you'll need to know about this property is that it's only accessible by boat. This is what makes the campsite so secluded and peaceful. Transportation to and from the island is included with your stay. The stunning 15 minute boat ride to and from Nile Point is one of the many things that makes this a truly unique experience. The second thing you'll need to know is that we offer TWO SITES on the property, a 10x16 TENT PLATFORM and a OCEANFRONT CANVAS TENT WITH ENSUITE (NEW!) with king size bed, in-tent ensuite bathroom and fully stocked outdoor kitchen with potable water, bar fridge and BBQ We have one canoe, one one-person kayak, a two-person kayak, and some paddleboards. Bring your own water exploring devices if you wish. Our beach is rocky (it ain't a sandy beach!), so bring your good water/rock shoes! This is a great place to stay and explore if you love the wild. A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. The private peaceful campsite felt like our own slice of serenity, just a short drive from everyday amenities, with wildlife spotting around every corner and trails begging to be explored straight from the back. An unforgettable escape, all thanks to Gary for opening up such incredible land. Pure joy fireside by the pond, plus a simply equipped shared kitchen that made everything easy. We arrived late in the evening, it was already dark so we didn't take advantage of the surroundings. It was slightly difficult to identify the reserved site because we were the only ones in tent. I can’t wait to come back! John and Michelle have created a lovely and thoughtful way to share their piece of Kootenay paradise. The micro cabin has everything I needed and I’ve never slept so well - incredibly quiet with stunning mountain vistas (and the view from the outdoor shower is top notch). Appreciated having the camp stove and propane, hot showers, clean ‘drop’ toilets, towels, wash station with soap and sponge right outside the cabin, bedding, and of course, Boss the friendly dog. I think I saw every star in the galaxy after dark. The adorable (easy and quick) ferry across to their property was icing on the cake.

The property is beautiful - right by the river with mountain views you can enjoy from your private deck. The tent was amazing too! A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Wake up surrounded by the stunning sights and sounds of nature. It's your panoramic view! Just 300 meters from the beaches of the Strait of Georgia, nestled on an acreage of family property is The Glamping Beachcomber. This oasis consists of a spacious canvas tent on a 900 sq’ fenced, deck 2 cots and mattresses set up under the 10x10’ canopy. Tent is well-furnished inside and out with an outdoor covered, supplied kitchen. Step off the deck and choose your path! If Oyster River is your destination, the nature trail will take you there. Stop along the way for a swim, picnic, paddle, driftwood fort building, maybe try your campfire building skills! Or meander above the shoreline along the driftwood covered shore on one side of you and past acres of distillery farmland and the Oyster River Estuary on your right. Where the river meets the sea just around the corner, it’s not uncommon to find a seal bobbing and heron near the shoreline, and maybe an eagle further out on the sandbar waiting for their seafood meal. To smell the forest, sea, and freshness of a flowing river all in one breath doesn’t happen many places, but it’s here every day. Deer, rabbits, herons and eagles are a near certainty right on our property. Currently there is a Great Horned Owl’s nest with 50 meters and you may catch sighting of the owlets. The bright sunny fielded forest alongside the beach blends together these experiences so seamlessly. And If a touch of civilization appeals, you'll find the essentials just past the nature trail, or a short drive away. Just beyond our property at Salmon Point… Shelter Point Distillery tastings and tours. Oyster River plaza (Grocery store, liquor store, pizza and coffee, and a medical clinic/pharmacy). Sandy Saratoga beach (water sport rentals) across the Oyster River. Miracle Beach Provincial Park. Saratoga Speedway on Saturday nights. Golf and mini golf. And we're 15 min drive to the bottom of Mt Washington, popular for hiking, ziplining, mountain biking and competition. Or, pocket your keys, and stay put. You really are in the thick of it!
